Where do I begin? Like hundred others I hate going to the dentist. However I got a pleasant surprise after my visit to Dentist 4U. I went to see the dentist (Martha) because I had lose skin around two teeth in the inside of my mouth forming two very awful bags. Food was getting into those bags and every time I brushed my teeth I bled and had to remove the food from the bag with a pick (more bleeding) not to mention the smell coming from rotten food inside that lose skin if I did not clean the bags immediately after eating. Dr. Alvarez discovered that I had a severe case of gum disease: Periodontitis with a lot of bone loss and at least two big bags of skin surrounding two of my teeth and getting food inside them. I had plaque around all of my teeth also. I regret now that I did not check my teeth at least once a year but I thought that flossing and brushing twice daily was enough. Obviously, it was not. What I felt was outstanding at Dentist 4U was the way Dr. Alvarez and the hygienist took their time to make sure that I understood my condition, what was coming to me in the very near future and what I could do about it. The second outstanding thing was that the lengthy procedure I went through did not require anesthetics. You will love the staff, they all are very knowledgeable of their work and they are willing to provide all the information you need. Recommendation to you if you are planning to go to Dentist 4U: ask any question even if it sounds silly (before and after the procedure); do not be shy or afraid, they are very kind and compassionate; all of them, the guys also. Dr. Alvarez is such a sweetheart, she will treat you as if you are a member of her family; she really loves her job and is totally committed to excellence.

I have been a patient of Dr. Martha Alvarez since 2003. I consider myself to be one of her favorite patients. She and her staff make me feel very comfortable every time I visit her office or I am in the phone with one of them. Everyone is very helpful and capable. Dr. Alvarez is by far the best dentist in Southern California hands down. Her ability and quality of work always exceeds my expectation every time. She and her staff are very compassionate and sensitive to my needs. One of the things I like most about Dr. Alvarez is that she gives it to you strait, with any problem there is always a solution. She always has your best interest and does not force unnecessary treatments. All treatment options are for my best interest within the scope of my needs. For example, today I asked her about a treatment for sensitive gums. Instead of telling me I can buy a treatment from her, she recommended trying home remedies first and over the counter toothpastes. If that doesnt work, then next time we can talk about a different treatment plan. I love that about her, she gives you options first and educated you on the different options available. Shes a great doctor and always recommend my family and friends to her. Thank you Dr. Alvarez for being so caring and compassionate of me and my needs. You are the best!

Dr. Alvarez put a crown in and it fell off twice! I went back to get it fixed the first time and she was upset because I hadnt been back to her for any other services (teeth clean, fillings, etc.) so she was reluctant on fixing it because she wasnt "making money" from it. When it fell off again within the year she wouldnt fix it without me paying $150! She doesnt guarantee her work and it was a lot of money to put it on in the first place. She isnt customer friendly, she is just money hungry and shell have you do extra to your mouth so she can benefit from it. Not satisfied at all by her service/dental work

Dr. Alvarez is the best dentist I have ever been to. I was told by my previous dentist that a tooth could not be saved and would have to be pulled. I made an appointment with Dr. Alvarez and immediately felt at ease with her wonderful staff. Dr. Alvarez called in a specialist to save my tooth and I cant thank her enough. She is my new dentist and I have already recommended her to several people I know.
