If I could give less than one star, I would. Horrible vet. She should have her license pulled. She treated my daughters young cat just hours before he died. The typically playful teenager wasnt eating anything and was drinking a ton of water. His gums were white. He was an orange tabby and his mouth was always very light pink - but this was lack of oxygen if I ever saw it! Since my wife passed, weve had to rely on the idiot vets in this town, to continually misdiagnose our small animals. They will say diabetes then default to congestive heart failure when insulin shots do not produce any results. My wife had a vast knowledge of all types of animals (she held a license AHT (Animal Health Tech) for large animals in 3 states - livestock mainly. But from her I learned quite a bit... When my daughter returned from the vet after dropping $180+, she confirmed the report to be a positive one. They dewormed (Drontal?) Gave antibiotics, and administered sub fluids. WAIT!? WHAT??? THE CAT WAS NOT EATING. THE CAT WAS VOMITING. THE CAT WAS NO LONGER DRINKING. THE CAT HUNG LIFELESS IN my pregnant daughters arms... Yet, this incompetent poor excuse for a vet administered worm medicine (a strong one!) To a weak, dehydrated cat!?? That was the end of him. Only a couple hours later he drifted away. Furious and full of venom is how I feel when untalented uneducated criminals hide behind lab coates pretending to care...trying to create a business and earn money in anyway they can. It was better for the vet to charge my daughter all those fees, to essentially kill the animal. It would have only been $35 to put him to sleep. You do the math. Heartless people who do not love animals are all we have in the town to care for our ailing pets. In their fancy offices, they portray success, and prey on us; working with guilt and pulling at our heartstrings. Business people who want to make money. Screw the animals and the owners that love them, that is the mantra in the central Valley. This uneducated piece of work leads the pack of buffoons, in my opinion. I recommend staying as far away from this "Faux Vet" as possible. Stay clear of the office, and dont, for any reason, fool yourself into thinking they care about your pet, or you. They want only whats in your wallet or purse. Beware!

Its horrible the way we were treated by the vet at this hospital. Our cat died RIGHT after we took him for acting very lethargic and ill. We were sent home with a return appointment to get him neutered. They said,"see you on Friday". I have to ask... Would a animal hospital schedule an appointment a week out if they thought our cat was SUPER sick? Also, why would they set up an appointment with a patient if they thought they were not able to pay the $ and they are not responsible or committed to their pet??!! After we called the office wuth the news..thats what we were accused of, after our cat dropped dead 5 hours after the vets visit! She was awful! When we asked questions she was defensive and turned it on us- like we were too irresponsible to pay for what tests were needed! We were never given options for tests! They were listed on the final bill as declined when we were handed the bill. When we asked what they were and Why they were declined, but never offered (by the vet tech) we were told because they are standard and are always listed, but were not necessarily needed in this case. The tech went over the charges with us- NOT THE VET. But when we spoke with her after the cats death she didnt acknowledge the bill and how it reflected to us. She never let us talk by interrupting constantly. 2 days later instead we recieved a letter from the vet. NOT a sympathy card which is standard and typical and deserved. Instead it was a threatening warning telling us NOT to bad mouth her on Yelp or other social media or she would sue us! Is this right? FAIR? Kind or interested in resolving any communication problems? NO! SHE IS A BULLY and a bulldozer. She should have her practice looked at carefully and her license suspended pending further investigation. She seemed capable at the office, but later in her treatment, diagnosis and recollection of events (lies she told in the letter she sent to us!) she was completely incompetent! She is wreckless and is afraid if being sued- so she is a BULLY. Animal/pet lovers BEWARE!!

I brought my 10 yr old cat in for some pretty serious symptoms that I was told seemed a lot like FIP which is a very deadly virus that will take your cats life in a week. Blood work was done that day as well as fluid injection, antibiotic injection and antibiotic to take home. I was told the results of blood work would be in the next morning. I get a call the next morning with them telling me I need to bring my cat back in so they can get a urine sample because they were unable to the day before (nothing was mentioned about this the day before) and of course I asked if the blood work came back and I was told no. When I went to the office for my cats urine sample i asked if they could call the lab to put a rush on the results since this could be life or death for my cat. I was told we dont want to rush the lab and just keep trying to feed my cat (she threw up everything). That evening before closing I called again and still no results. I knew this was an urgent situation so I called sylvan veterinary the next morning to get a second option and see if we could put a game plan on motion. While i was there with my cat the sylvan vet called American animal hospital and what a surprise! The blood work results were there! Who know how long they were in and no one felt the urgency to contact me right away! THEY STILL HAVENT CONTACTED ME! Thank God sylvan acted quick and was able to give my cat the treatment needed to save her life because she did indeed have a borderline case of corona and FIP virus. The antibiotic that I was previously given causes nausea and is not recommended for the viruses my cat had so it was keeping her from eating! My cat is on her road to recovery now and I am hopeful but it is scary to me to think about other people pets that could die because American animal Hospital dropped the ball.

We usually go to American Vet in Ceres, Ca - and they are awesome. The Doctor was out of town and referred us to the Modesto Animal Medical Center. 1st - the office staff did not request our records from American Vet as she said she would when I made the appointment in the morning so the Dr. did not have them when we arrived for the late afternoon appointment. 2nd - the Dr. was OK. She was the only somewhat positive part of the visit. But her decision explained in the next item changed my view of her. 3rd - our apt. was for our beloved 7.5 Lb. 11 year old Chihuahua dog who had been having a problem similar to a few years back. The Dr. recommended a variety of medications to resolve the problem You would think that an intelligent Dr. would know that a small, Chihuahua dog who is missing half his teeth would know to NOT prescribe pills but instead send me home with liquid medication. Guess again. It did not dawn on me until I got home that something was wrong. I have NEVER been given pills for our dog - only liquid. Never had to ask for liquid with the other vets - they just knew it was necessary. It would be like giving a newborn pills. I spent nearly $100 for the RXs and was very unhappy that I had to give him this medication in pill form. This is not an easy task for such a small, finicky dog. They would not own their professional misjudgment and replace the pills with liquid. I personally think they did not have liquid and instead of discussing the options with me they just gave me pills. So BEWARE - they are not truly concerned about the well being of your pet. Who knows what other type of decisions they make that are not in the best interest of your pet and you may not even know it - after all, they are supposed to be the experts and one you can trust. Right? Think again.
