I have (had) severe cystic acne and with previous dermatologists I always felt rather hopeless until I started seeing Dr. Butani. First and foremost she prescribed medicine that actually worked on my scars and gave me different options for treatments. She allows me to experiment with different cleansers and washes (unlike dermatologists that push their own or sponsored products) and helped work with me to find a routine that improved my results. She also is extremely gentle and avoids harsh procedures when possible (compared to my previous dermatologist, who surgically removed a small whitehead and left me with a scar, and pushed laser treatment and peels on my skin,) She is also very kind and made me feel comfortable in her office. Again, my previous dermatologist made me feel terrible about my skin and shamed me quite a bit for it. Dr. Butani has been nothing but positive whenever I go in. I recommend her to anyone seeking a dermatologist, especially young adults and teenager with acne.
