I had been receiving care from Dr. Detrano for a couple of years when I experienced an irreparable rift in our relationship due to his front office assistant. I changed insurance due to college and was billed incorrectly even after WATCHING them put a line through my Delta Dental coverage info. When I called, the asst was rude and acted as if I was uninsured and owed the bill in full. I reminded her of the new policy and it took 2 more times to clear up. When I returned to work and Delta Dental, said same asst REFUSED to use the info previously provided (only a line drawn through info, not erased). She required me to obtain ALL pertinent info (Group number, policy number and some other numbers I had NEVER heard of) before she would book an appt. This took me about 1.5 hrs to gather and all other offices provided this data collection free of charge. When I called to inform her of this, she treated me like I should go someplace else then. I did. I wrote Dr. Detrano a letter about my treatment, but she still worked they 6 months later :( Too bad

My wife and I have been going to Dr. De Trano for years. I first started probably around 2000 from an ad in the News and Review, and have continued ever since. He is caring, professional, and a first class individual to boot. Dr. De Trano will not do anything unnecessary, and he actually tried to talk me out of replacing a filling I had because the filling was fine and didnt need replacing! It was my idea to change it out. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Regarding the front counter person some other people complained about, she is no longer there. She wasnt horrible either, just most likely rubbed them the wrong way.

I have been seeing Dr. Detrano all of my adult life and Im currently in my mid-30s. He is gentle, professional and accommodating. I have never had an issue with billing or the doctors availability. The office is clean and convenient, and Ive never had a problem with parking. There are some magazines in the lobby, but I dont think Ive ever sat down for more than 2 minutes. Everyone I have recommended see Dr. Detrano to has gone out of their way to thank me for the recommendation, this speaks volumes! I live about 40 miles away and still make the trek to midtown for the exceptional dental care provided.

The dentist himself is awesome. But the receptionist at the front desk is horrible and ultimately is the reason I stopped going here. She handles all the billing, scheduling, and referrals. She is rude, unprofessional and has a "take it or leave it" attitude. Detrano obviously is ok with her behavior seeing as how numerous people have complained about her and she still works there. Such a shame, I really liked him.

I moved from Iowa, and was in need of a new dentist. I went to Dr. Detranos office today and had the best dental experience of my life. The dental assistant and Dr. Detrano were very friendly and professional. Dr. Detrano spent a lot of time with me explaining everything I wanted to know about my teeth. I had a great experience and am referring him to all my friends.

This Dentist Office is great. Dr. Detrano and his staff are helpful and very nice. Dr. Detrano makes sure you are comfortable, explains all the options and doesnt push expensive dental work if you dont need it. They call you by name and remember things about you which makes you feel like they care about you as a patient and a person. Highly recommended.

Richard Detrano DDS is the best dentist I have been to. He is familiar with the latest dental technology, is very gentle, and he makes you feel comfortable. Id advise him to anyone.
