I have never enjoyed going to the eye doctor before! But I can honestly say that I did this time. Heights Optometry is exceptional. I dont have visual insurance, but I was skeptical about going to an optometrist because I did not understand that Optometrists can do more than provide a lens prescription. I had some concerns about my eyes, and I needed a much more in depth exam - a complete look at the health of my eyes from the inside out. Dr. Walton explained to me that she is more than qualified to do this work, and does so at a very reasonable price, so I made an appoinment. First of all, Dr. Walton is extremely knowledgeable and was very respectful about my anxiety about having my eyes handled. She goes out of her way to do things in a way that makes her patients as comfortable as we can be, and she is very communicative throughout the process, explaining her techniques and answering questions as she conducts the exam. I feel 100% confident that she is caring for my eyes as well as they can be cared for. I have OK vision but I have an astigmatism in each eye (even that word grosses me out) and she helped me find a prescription that makes everything so crisp! In addition, my family has a history of lattice degeneration and macular degeneration, and Dr. Walton really helped me to understand what this means and to feel assured that she was carefully looking for any signs of injury or damage in my eyes. Aside from the excellent experience with getting my eyes checked, I had a great time selecting frames with Janette, who is lovely and has a great breadth of knowledge about frame inventory. These women have great taste! The office decor is whimsical and elegant, and the selection of frames is so beautifully curated. The ladies helped me select a set of frames that I am - there is no better way to say this - obsessed with. If youre looking for a good Optometrist, I would highly recommend giving Heights Optometry a try. They demonstrate that in a city like San Diego, we have the benefit of a small town feel without sacrificing access to top quality care and services.

Best eye Dr. ever! I love Dr. Walton and her staff. The office is very welcoming and comfortable. Never a long wait. Dr. Walton is very thorough and I never feel rushed. Ive been fitted for contacts by so many different doctors and so far she is the only one to get it right! Im so glad I found this place:)

Amazing place! The doctor is amazing, she takes your time to do her work and to explain our kids eye problems I absolutely love it here. We live in Stockton California and try to come once a year for our check ups!

Heights optometry has a super friendly staff, and the Dr. was knowledgeable about my particular eye issue. The waiting area is comfortable and coffee and water is available.

The wait is too long. Appointment was at 1:15pm its now 1:34pm. Nobody came to me and told me how much longer the wait. I havent seen the doctor yet
