I have never taken the time to write a review prior to this and simply wanted to others to know that Dr. Zilahy has to be one of the most knowledgable and best Chiropractor doctors around with very special added skills when it comes to acupuncture treatments and nutritional wellness! It started with numbness down my right leg for a month or so as I was doing a good amount of outdoor physical work not realizing at the time this was due to spinal disk injury. As August 2013 approached the lower back tightness and pain added to the numbness before I recognized the need to make an appointment with Dr. Zilahy and his Wellness Center. Timing could not have been better planned as the day of my first appointment I could not stand straight and was in considerable distress. After a thorough review of my symptoms and examination by Dr. Zilahy he zeroed in on appropriate treatment for my lower (L3, L4 and L5) spinal injury that included spinal adjustments, cold laser treatment, acupuncture and eventually an exercise regiment. The results and overall experience were phenomenal albeit I was initially skeptical of the cold laser and acupuncture treatment. The immediate felt results of Dr. Zilahy’s acupuncture treatments is what amazed me the most not having experienced such treatment before my injury and would encourage any skeptics to consider such treatment if appropriate. With the severity of my injuries left untreated for so long, Dr. Zilahy did not provide me with any false illusion that I would be splitting wood in a matter of weeks and spent a good amount of time educating me on the healing process and plateaus I should expect with continued treatment, exercise and being smart with my physical activities. He could not have been more spot on! I am now pain free and much better educated under the treatment of Dr. Zilahy. Dr. Zilahy is one of the best Doctors youll ever find. He is kind, compassionate, friendly, an all around great person. I found him after going through 8 years of infertility due to endometriosis. Ive had 2 IUIs, 3 laparoscopies, and after my last surgery with the best endometriosis Dr. in CT, he told me the only way wed conceive was through IVF. Which we couldnt afford. So I started researching my options and stumbled upon Acupuncture success rates in IVF cycles. It went from 50% to 80% success rate using acupuncture. So I then dug further and found that acupuncture helps infertility and women who suffer from endometriosis. I then found a couple of clinics and Dr. Zilahys office was my second call. I never made it to the third one. I spoke with Nicole, who was so sweet and understanding and wasnt annoyed to have to answer a phone and help someone on the other end. Especially with such a delicate medical problem such as infertility. It was because of Nicole that I scheduled my first appt. So I started my treatments and after 3 months of not getting pregnant and discouraged I took a break. My next period - No. Pain. At. All. I have this annoying "upper abdominal pain" as I refer to it that Ive have for 20+ years. It was gone. I was blown away. Thats when I became a believer in acupuncture. So I went back and 6 months later I was pregnant. I couldnt believe it and Ill never forget that day. You wont regret seeing Dr. Zilahy and his office staff (Hi Robin, I didnt forget you!), they are a phenomenal group of caring people who just want to help you get better. There was never any pressure to buy anything, he just gave you information and you did what you felt was right for you. We now have a rambunctious little boy who is our whole world. Go and see him. I can sit and stand and walk without pain again finally! I had the worst sciatica shooting pains down from my lower back, through my right side glutes all the way down to my toes! For about three weeks, I tried every stretch I knew. Dr. Zilahy adjusted me a few times, did some acupuncture, and it was almost completely gone. Dr. referred me to Refresh Rejuvenating Spa & Salon, one building over, where Maria (my angel) did the most awesome deep tissue massage. Now the pain is gone!
