I came to Oviedo Vision Center 2 years ago, got a nice pair of glasses and never had a single problem. I was in need of new glasses this year, so I decided to come back to them in February/March for a vision test and new glasses. I currently work in Downtown Orlando, but I decided to commute because of my prior experience with this place. The vision test was extremely quick and I only had an option between 2 lenses, which should have worried me, but I assumed Dr. McDonald knew what he was doing. I picked out a nice pair of frames and then picked them up 2 weeks later with my updated lenses. I noticed as soon as I tried them on that I couldnt see very well. I told Nelly about this and she seemed like she didnt know what to do about it. They wouldnt give me a vision test and told me to just walk around with them for a few days and then tell them how I feel in 3-4 days. Well, 3-4 days later, I was still having trouble reading street signs from a reasonable distance. I was told to bring the glasses back in so they could take a look and see what the problem was. Nelly told me that since I picked big frames, that they didnt adjust the "optical center" to where my eyes look through the lenses. Instead, the optical center was towards the bottom of my glasses. I thought this would solve my problem, so I waited another 2 weeks to pick up my new lenses with the correct optical center. When I picked up the new lenses, I was STILL having trouble seeing! I informed Nelly and Leonor about this, and Nelly told me she didnt know what more they could do for me. She was extremely rude, and I calmly tried to explain to her that I couldnt keep driving back and forth from downtown, because Im spending a lot of money on gas and having to leave work early to get over there in time. Leonor was nice at least, but didnt really help me either. So I had another eye test with Dr. McDonald, he never apologized for my inconvenience or even admitted to giving me the wrong lenses. He just said we would "try" a stronger lens. He told me I couldnt have perfect vision with glasses, and when I asked why that is, he told me my pupils are too large so I will have trouble seeing at night. That is a ridiculous answer. After another 2 weeks of waiting for those lenses, I finally got the closest to perfect vision that Im going to get, according to them. This whole process of getting glasses took 2-3 months and 6 trips back and forth to their office. For those who dont know, it takes about 45 mins - 1 hour to commute from the Amway Center to Oviedo Vision Center, and I had to make that trip 12 times (there + back). At the end, I was very polite in explaining to Nelly and Dr. McDonald about how upset I was with their practice. The doctor had absolutely nothing to say, and still would not admit fault. Nelly, once again, was extremely rude when I asked if I could have a little bit of money back for all of my trouble. All they could do was offer me $15 off my next visit, but I am NEVER going back there! Ive never had such horrible service at a doctors office. Please do not waste your time here.
