I just had my first visit to Cheyenne and came away feeling very positive and very relieved! Dr. Gross is the best vet Ive ever dealt with. He made me feel like I could have been having a conversation with my best friend! I half expected to be told well this and that test needs to be done and we cant proceed without these tests and we cant prescribe anything without them and oh yeah every service and prescription must be paid for at the time of service, no exceptions! Because up until today that accurately describes my experience with every other vet Id ever been to. Dr. Gross was able to provide me with an immediate diagnosis based on Brutys symptoms and his medical history which I provided him. He listened to his heart and lungs and looked at his gums and since my dog had very severe and obvious symptoms and after Id told him the results of his last xrays and bloodwork and his medical history, he diagnosed my dog with congestive heart failure. He took the time to ask me questions and clearly explain everything to me and describe how he was able to arrive at his conclusion without the need for expensive tests that I cannot afford at this particular time. As I explained my current financial situation, he stopped me and said "Im not worried about money right now so lets come up with a treatment plan and get him started on necessary meds and we can worry about payment later"!!! Well!!!!! I have NEVER heard any of my previous vets say that! I said to myself here is what every vet should be. Take care of getting the animal well first, we can work out a payment plan. Far too many vets are worried about payment first and I wonder what there true reasons were for going into the practice to begin with! It seems to me that a vet ought to become a vet because of their love for animals and every time Ive ever asked any other vet to work with me on payment its been a flat out no! We cant do that! To get on, I informed him that Im living pay to pay and get laid off for the summer months and I would have to write a post dated check for the office visit for my next payday (i called to ask if they accept post dated checks before I made the appt) and furthermore I couldnt afford the meds today. He said no problem. Ill give you a weeks worth now to get him started and worry about the rest when you get paid. We will even take post dated checks if you need to make payments! This man did not cease to surprise me and I breathed a sigh of relief. So I left there with a diagnosis without having to pay for expensive tests and which I knew was a matter if time and a weeks worth of medicines and I wrote a post dated check for 47 bucks for the office visit. Finally, a true humanitarian, a true animalitarian, if you will, who describes how a good vet should conduct himself! Animal well-being first, money second! If this had been any other vet Ive been to my beloved dog would still be suffering without badly needed meds because it seems to me that what the animal needs to be well is the exception rather than the rule! Its always the money first. To further impress me, he told me that he refuses to out an animal down unless it is absolutely necessary and very last resort. Ive heard some vets state that if this and that are unaffordable for you then you may just want to euthanize your pet. Money first vets! Needless to say, my choice is clear! I will remain a loyal client with Cheyenne Vet & Wellness and Surgery center. I give ten stars to Dr. Gross And his team! He gets that not everybody is rich and just because one is not does not mean your pets are not entitled to good medical care. Thank you Dr. Gross!!!

I was introduced to this Doctor by my mother in law. I can not say enough about him! I rushed my elder dog to Castle Shannon Vets and they very coldly told me she tore her ACL and needed surgery at $3500.00. Well I didnt have that. Cheyenne Vet saw her for $45 (vs the $135 the surgeon CSV recommend) and said surgery can wait. He said lets see what happens with medication. He said it not help right now because of her being a little over weight (ok shes a sausage roll and needs to lose a lot of weight) and she has a skin issue because of allergies that needed cleared up or would just cause an infection if they operated on her now. All this while he was sitting on the floor petting her. He is honest, he breaks it down so you understand, he doesnt talk to you like your waisting her s time, but most of all he is about helping animals not making money.

I love this vet. Spacious waiting room, and the staff got people into exam rooms quickly to help keep animals separate. Steve (Dr. Gross) is very easy to talk to and answers all of your questions without you feeling rushed. His interaction with my dog was wonderful, and she was in and out with her tail wagging the whole time. The only reason I went with (4) stars was inside of the exam room (where we waited for the vet) there was a 2 ft. tall trash can full of bloody paper towels and such, right at dog level (without even a lid) Not only gross, but unsanitary and unsafe for the pooch. I will most certainly be going back here, and hope that they change the trash bags :)

Steven gross is an awesome vet, A+++ he has been taking wonderful care of our animals for years! He has come late at night to help our elder dog when it was his time. He has taken us last minute, when our cat was ill. In every situation he has taken time to explain and talk to us with understanding and kindness. He really knows animals! We trust him 100% with our fur babies. Couldnt find a better vet! We will never go to anyone else. Thanks for taking such great care of everyones animals (:

I took my dog in because he hurt his leg. The doc took some x-rays and advised me that it was s damaged ligament. While he could have recommended surgery (its a potential fix) he instead recommended time and some medication (anti-inflammatory and pain meds). He could have easily recommended the more expensive option of surgery, but he was straight with me which I appreciate. They also offer a veterans discount so that is a plus for me. They were quick, courteous, and friendly.

The staff is so nice and welcoming. I was a walk in because of my yorkie having a problem, they took great care to add us in so he could be helped. The vet was great, no unnecessary testing and explained everything at great length. Even left instructions if something happened while he was away on vacation, so the staff could help if things got worse. It was refreshing to visit a vet who really cared .

This is my first and only vet, so I dont have much for comparison, but not knowing who to choose initially, I feel I made a good choice. The doc is a good dude, who definitely cares about animals and they have been very accommodating if I need to come in on short notice, get a prescription, ect. I even moved 20 more minutes away and still go here.
