Not very impressed. My cat got into old food (dry, in a bag Id no clue Id left laying in an open box in our storage room) and I wanted to call a vet to make sure I knew what to watch for because other than throwing up and a slight bit of poo issues she was acting fine (but she has IBD - hence why its OLD b/c she cant and doesnt eat it anymore - shes on a different diet now and has to take meds every day as it is to keep her from throwing up all the time + any change in her diet at all spawns diarrhea, so her reaction wasnt out of the ordinary even for fresh food of that type and I had no way to gauge whether it was just her IBD flaring up or if old food affected her badly.. at least not until anything serious happened, and I wanted to catch it early) but it was after-hours from her usual vet so called the emergency one given by their answering machine instead. They were practically useless. The guy I spoke to wouldnt give me any useful info. at all - would barely even listen to the issue without trying to interrupt or rush me. All he would say is "new or worse symptoms" (obvious, but he wouldnt elaborate and would only say "anything I say could potentially be bad advice without seeing her" - which is understandable but I told him I get legalities, and its a judgement call on my part, but I just want some basics to work with, he said that "legalities werent a concern at all") and "no food/water for 12 hours" (no WATER? He even said compare it to myself getting sick and I think it goes without saying that I would NEVER dehydrate myself like that! My vets office was even surprised at the suggestion when I called today!). He also said that "well you kinda get what you pay for and youre not paying anything so....". Im left with the impression that they only really care about money, not their customers - actual or potential - or the animals, and with an $85 exam fee (my vet charges half that!) I cant say Im surprised. Im sure in an absolute emergency with no other options, this is probably one of the only 24-hour vet services available in the area and thus if life or death it may be worth it... but if youre looking for "I need just a little help gauging the severity of this and possibly getting through the night until I can get my animal to the vet in the morning!" theyre basically useless and didnt do much to inspire trust, in my experience. I dont think Id bring my cat there unless it was the last possible option. [in comparison... kittys fine but called my vet this morning just to make sure - not only did they listen to the situation, they told me that since things are normal (she did fine all night, ate late last night and this morning, poop was normal again etc) it seems like shes in the clear and if it were them, they wouldnt even bother bringing her in! they didnt seem very impressed by what the emergency place said, either - at least one place was upfront and helpful, and I didnt wind up with $85+ in vet fees to get a decent opinion / little advice!]

PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PRECIOUS ANIMALS!!!!! I took my dog of 10 years (who was like my first child) to this clinic because it was late at night when we had our emergency. While I was trying to spend quality time with my dog in her last minutes of life an assistant kept trying to get me to sign a paper to have her put down (which wasn't necessary as she was already passing away). Then after I told the dr that I wanted her privately cremated and returned to me the same assistant charged me for "mass cremation" which I didn't catch. I called them everyday after to see when she would be returned to me until 2 weeks later they inform me that they "made a mistake" and cremated her with a bunch of other dogs whose ashes were unwanted. I WAS AND STILL AM DEVASTATED!" Then when I asked if I could have the number of the person who cremated them so I could ask if I could just have my dog and all of the "unwanted" dogs I was told that they don't even know his name, number of location! This is unacceptable. As a nurse, I know that there are checks and balances to ensure that this does not happen to someone's family member, so why aren't the policies and procedures the same for pets? THERE ARE FAMILY TOO!!!! If this angers you, please make a phone call and let them know so that this doesn't happen to anyone else!

Took my little 3pound Chihuahua here because she went into one of her spells . Well they called it a partial seizure, but on paper said it was a neurological . They did blood work but didnt give me a paper of the results , they charged me 200$ something for blood work and to examine her but I never did get a paper like I have everywhere else showing what she weighed, what was wrong , not even a doctors notes from what she could tell .they recommend I leave her over night and they will do a test and try something that may or may not work. But soon as I said I didnt have the money the vet doctor talked and told me 1 i needed get her to a fully vet , and they would probably send me back to them and they send me to VA tech like really or 2 I needed to surrender her over to angels because I could afford her vet bills . So I dont they they even fully examined her nor do I think they took her blood and did what they where suppose to do . And the dr and the lady at the desk made me feel like crap and where horrible with people . I mean comon I am upset my dog isnt moving much and your asking me whats wrong when I am scared for my dogs life . What it came down to is Mr taking her home , no answers and she cant walk so I am off to another vet who is letting me finance her care . So stay clear of this emergency vet they are not helpful at all

****ATTENTION BEWARE OF THIS HORRIBLE FACILITY***** absolute WORST animal clinic Ive EVER dealt with! They dont even deserve one star! First thing they asked for was money, money, money! My dog got hit by a car and left to die! I rushed him to the nearest 24 hour animal clinic and that was a hour drive, they told me that my dog wasnt worth the money to save! All they told me was he had a broken leg (which was obvious) and a large laceration to his abdomen (which was also obvious) They didnt ask to x Ray him, NOTHING! Only thing they gave him was a shot of morpheme and I had to ask them to give me pain pills for him overnight so he wouldnt suffer until I got him to another vet the next morning. They wanted my baby to DIE! He was put down at another clinic unfortunately after they told me HIS INTESTINES WERE HANGING OUT, his PENIS WAS SEVERLY INJURED! I wouldve had him put down at the ROANOKE animal clinic if they wouldve told me that! My dog was extra furry and fluffy so I wasnt able to see details of his injurries. THE VET COULDVE BUT THEY WERE MORE SO CONCERNED ABOUT A DOLLAR! to make matters WORSE not even 4 hours after his burial the ROANOKE ANIMAL CLINIC REPORTED ME FOR ABUSE TO ANIMAL CONTROL! Why? Because they refused to treat my dog, they didnt want to save him!
