"MYHONESTOPPINION" -first off, you have "OPINION" spelled incorrectly :) Secondly, not one member of that staff was rude to you in any way. Third, the staff DOES NOT pass out treats in the waiting room. Thats a huge no no as they have sick dogs being admitted into their hospital everyday. If a member of the staff gives a patient a treat (and they are in for being sick) that could cause more problems than they are in for....therefore, treats are never passed out in the waiting room :) the treat jars live by the dog and cat CHECKOUT DESKS!! Also, deworming medications are never given to patients if they are not needed. NEVER. Perhaps your dog had intestinal parasites that needed to be removed from his body before they caused problems. If your dog had tapeworms, thats strictly as a result of him NOT being on flea medications (like hes supposed to be for his skin) - tapeworms are caused if a dog has injested a flea. "He had eaten something that had him to vomit" - Im not really sure what you mean by that. Also, 3 different types of deworming meds are never given to a dog. Thats unnecessary. The doctors there have 20 years experience, before you were born. They know what theyre doing. Last, and most importantly....not one member of that staff would "flip you the bird" ESPECIALLY if they didnt have a reason to. Now....if a young client whipped her car back in the parking lot AFTER leaving the clinic just to jump out and threaten an employee then that might call for someone "flipping the bird" - I would be extremely careful of what you write on the internet for the public to see, especially if you are the main cause for the problem. If youre going to tell the story, tell the ENTIRE story...not a made up one that makes you look like the victim. You knew who worked there, and you went looking for a fight. How many other vet clinics are in this area? But you chose the one where you could cause trouble. Was making a fake facebook page tormenting this young girl not enough for you? You had to come to her place of work and torment her even more??? Lets get some class and stay off the internet with this. If you were my child Id take your computer rights away because you obviously dont know proper computer etiquette. If you have to hide behind a computer and threaten people then you need a lesson on being an adult and facing your problems in person and not behind the keyboard. But youre still in that angry teenager stage, so I guess this behavior isnt too surprising! Have a lovely day :)

First off, Id like to say I was really excited about my dogs going to this vet (well as excited as you can be for that sort of thing) because of all of the wonderful reviews it has. I scheduled my Maltese to have his teeth cleaned close to a month in advance because I do not have the luxury in my career of being able to bring him to the first available appointment. When I made the appointment, I was told that I could drop him off around 8 and I could pick him up later that day. The Dr. was going to talk to me about the procedure at this time. I was told I would receive a phone call a day or two prior to the procedure to go over any special instructions. Fast forward to 4:45 the night before the procedure when I got off work. I still hadn’t received a phone call so I called to verify they still had my dog on the schedule. The receptionist told me she had tried calling but must have had the wrong number. That may be true so I cant up-rate or down-rate the vet for this. However, she then informs me that I would have to bring my dog in at 9:00 for a 20-30 minute consultation that I would need to be present for before they could do any procedure on my dog. I asked the lady if there was a mistake because I was told I could drop him off at 8. She informed me that the drop-off time was indeed 8-830, but I needed to come at 9. The pre-consultation part is completely understandable. However, I was going to drop my dog off at 8 and my wife was going to leave work early to pick him up. I informed the receptionist that I couldnt make it at 9. I had already made specific plans during this time and couldnt change them. They didnt even offer to try and make that date work. The best they could do is schedule a different date. However, as I said at the beginning of this long-winded rant, I dont have the luxury of picking the next available date because of my work schedule. All in all I may have missed out on the best Veterinarian in Charleston. However, it’s not very professional to tell someone they can drop their animals off at 8 when in reality, they scheduled an appointment that required one of the owners be present 1 1/2 hours after the time they initially said to be there at. Ultimately, my not going there probably makes less than 1% difference in their pockets and thats probably why they didnt make much of an effort to keep my business.

I have been taking my schnauzers (5 so far) to West Ashley for over 25 years. I couldnt ask for a better team of doctors, vet techs and staff members and cannot imagine taking them anywhere else. Over the years some of my dogs developed serious illnesses that would eventually take their lives: diabetes, liver issues and cancer, but they did everything possible to extend their quality of life. All of the doctors are highly trained and take the time to answer questions. The staff is friendly, helpful, and get to know the animals and care for them as if they were their own. They have the latest technology and will spend hours if needed trying to find ways to help your pet overcome their issues or reduce the stress that my pets and I might be going through. I trust them implicitly to tell me the truth about what is wrong and how best to address the issues. They are concerned about their patients and the owners. I would love to name them all individually but if you go there already, you know their names and they know yours. If you are looking for excellent medical care for your pets and the care and compassion that you give you pets, then you should choose West Ashley Vet Clinic. If they could, Rudi, Max, Annie (who spent many visits at the clinic) and now Toby and Lizzie would put their "paw" of approval on West Ashley Vet Clinic.

I had scheduled a grooming appointment this morning, 10/6/2011 and a follow up vet appointment next door at 4:30PM. I thought, "oh this is great! Drop my dogs off before work and pick them up at after work, walk next door and get a check-up". Well, upon arrive, I was told by the two women at the front desk "you canceled your appointment and we are booked for the day and have no room." Obviously I did not cancel my own appointment with knowing. So, I was polite and left. I did receive a follow-up phone call to explain that it was an accident and when the vet booked the appointment it deleted my grooming appointment. I was also told that I would not have been able to see the vet after the grooming as they do not like to inspect skin issues on a freshly washed dog. However, when I spoke to the vet on the phone, I was told they wanted the dog shaved in order to actually see the skin, so too bad for that excuse. She offered to re-book me on Monday (4 days from now). Too bad I already lost 2 hours of work and dumped the gas in my ram 2500 and nothing to show for it. Please note, I had 2 dogs booked, one with no skin issues at all (so again, that excuse is invalid) First and last impression: No communication via the 2 businesses, low customer care priority, and scatterbrained organization.
