My husband took in an outdoor cat that frequents our home because he had a terrible cough. He has a history of getting respiratory infections about once a year, but our normal vet didnt have an appointment available. We ended up at Banfield after they assured us that although we didnt have an appointment, they would squeeze us in. My husband arrived around 10 am with a sick cat and our 2 year old daughter in tow. He waited patiently until 2 pm before voicing concerns, still the staff assured theyd be seen. As you can expect, my daughter was losing her patience so I too, had to drive out to pick her up so my husband could continue to wait with the cat. After waiting all this time, we were frustrated but it seemed silly to leave at that point after waiting so long. We were also getting concerned for our poor kitty, already sick, having to wait HOURS in a crate. FINALLY AROUND 4 PM, after 5 HOURS of waiting, they took the cat back. They then became alarmed about the cat saying his oxygen level was very low, a high temp, and he had brown around his nose, which they assumed was blood he was coughing up. They started talking about all sorts of expensive treatments, keeping him over night, and oh, a late fee because they were seeing him after hours. We decided to take our cat somewhere else. At the next vet, they said his oxygen levels were fine, the brown was most likely mucus NOT blood, and his temp was slightly high which they actually said could be attributed to dehydration from sitting in a crate for over 5+ hours with little food and water. They gave us medicine for his respiratory infection and sent us on our way. I cant help but feel Banfield purposely had us wait until "after hours" to charge the extra fees. Their demeanor was also very alarmist, whether that be intentional or not to make us feel the situatiom was more emergent than it was. After waiting 5+ hours for essentially no treatment and feel like we were being extorted, I can say we will never, ever go back here again.

Last week our pet mouse took a turn for the worse, and I had to call 5 veterinary offices to find some place that would see him. Banfield was my last phone call and they were nothing short of a saving grace. They were so kind, patient, and professional while I tried to keep it together on the phone to explain what was happening with our dear and beloved mouse, Mr. Moseley. They fit us immediately into their schedule even though we were not current patients and had never been there before. When we arrived to take Mr. Moseley in, the staff was nothing short of amazing. They did not treat Mr. Moseley "like a mouse"...they treated him like the family member that he was to us. When it was determined that it was in his best interest to let him go and put him out of his pain and suffering, they gave us the same privacy and time to say goodbye as they would anyone else. Moral of the Story: we will now be taking ALL of our animals here. The staff is phenomenal, and I will never be able to thank them enough for their kindness.

My cat is 10 years old and has had his entire back bald for 4 months and limping.i live in butler but the cat is at my parents house in Robinson. I have taken him to Banfield 3 times, each time spending roughly $250, and none of the oral medicine, shots, or diagnoses have been correct. I took him to a local vet near my apartment in butler and the first appt the vet diagnosed him with ring worm and severe arthritis and 6 weeks later hes running around. Every appt with Banfield they said it was a mite, it was a food allergy, or it was just stress. An indoor cat doesnt lose a 7x9 inch patch of hair because of stress. The vet and vet techs are so so so nice and warming, its just that...4 appts for a ringworm diagnoses?

The staff is really nice. HOWEVER, my experience was super negative. Do not bring your pet here. Take them elsewhere if you really love your pet. We were asked if they should take my puppy out of the room to get his shots and we said no. They did anyways because they couldnt figure out how to keep a PUPPY still. 5 pound puppy at that. He was out of the room for about 10 minutes to get one shot? Doesnt make sense. Now he is acting all distant and constantly crying. And you might wannna purchase their pet protection plan if you wanna shut them up and not hear about it 8 different times. I already have pet insurance. They didnt care. They try to upsale you like no other. Its all about the money.

I had been looking for a new vet as my current one is 90 minutes from home ( I used my exs vet in the past ) Today my office called me to let me know I need to travel to OH for work and I would not be back in time for the last round of puppy boosters. I immediately called to push the appointment back 1 day and was told I can do so but I will be "fined" $41 for missing the appointment. The lady on the phone then tried to up-sell me on the wellness plan saying I can cancel any appointment I want then with no penalty. Needless to say I will keep on looking for a new Vet that is local as this is absurd with almost 2 weeks notice.

This place is great! At least if you like spending at least an hour at the vet, usually closer to 2 hours, and being nickle and dimed every chance that they get. Want a cheap cost-effective health plan? Theyve got it, except for the additional charges they constantly try to hit you with. At least a spay/neuter is included in the wellness plan, even if you are still going to end up paying at least $50 at the time of the spay/neuter with no other mention of the cost, for painkillers, anti-inflammatories, and an e-collar, all of which are pretty mandatory for a surgical procedure like that on a dog.

My boy was only 8 years old and I let them talk me into getting the pet insurance. They took my precious boy in the back to do bloodwork, get a stole sample. They told me it would be only 15 minutes- about a half an hour or more later they brought him out and told me everything was normal. Within hours I was at the emergency per hospital and a week later my precious boy died. Stay away from here!

Very friendly staff and great customer service. They were able to squeeze my pet in on a busy day by letting me drop her off. The online scheduling app could use some work, so call for an appointment instead of booking online.

Have been bringing our dog here since adopting him 2/13/16 and have had great experience overall. We really like Dr. Christine Genareo and shell go out of her way to help you plus keep in touch if your pet is sick etc.
