I am so grateful my husband found Air Harbor a few years ago. The front desk is always friendly and welcoming. I’ve only met a couple of the techs but they were very sweet and friendly as well. Dr. Southard Sr. has a warm avuncular appeal; I could talk to him for hours. He handles our animals with great care and a gentleness that every pet owner can appreciate. He always explains everything thoroughly, gives us options and answers any questions we may have. He takes his time and never makes us feel rushed. Dr. Southard Jr. is a great diagnostician and works diligently for the animals. I can’t say enough about everyone at Air Harbor. I wish I could give more than five stars. My recommendation: Even if you don’t live in the West Ashley area, they’re worth the drive. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with our animals.

Our family has been taking our pets to Air Harbor Vet. Clinic for over 15 years. The father-and-son veterinarians, Drs. Southard, are good diagnosticians and have wonderful bedside manners. They are willing to thoroughly answer every question we ask and offer helpful information to educate us as to our pets’ maladies. They have performed routine care, urgent care and surgeries on our pets. Both veterinarians have called us at home, after hours and on weekends, to check on the welfare of our ill or recovering pets. The vet. techs are warmly welcoming both in person and on the phone. They have provided guidance to us numerous times. We are grateful that the entire staff is caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. Thank you, Air Harbor!

I have seen both Dr. Southard Sr. and Jr. with four different dogs for a period of over 10 years. I have nothing but good things to report. Both doctors have never hesitated to go above and beyond when I had a sick dog. When I have a well dog, I have always received a thorough "report card". If you are really interested in the information, Dr. Jim Sr. explains the issues and test results and writes it all down for you. He has explained how to make a muzzle out of dog leashes, more easily administer medication and get my rain-shy doxie to do his business (!). He is a wealth of information due to his years of experience. Also, I never feel like I am the victim of a plot to pad the bill and the staff is friendly and efficient.

A great place for regular check-ups, wellness programs (such a flea, tick and heart worm preventatives) and general health situations, such a dental work. Drs. Southard, father and son, have been vets for all our dogs for decades. The clinic also has boarding facilities when we are out of town; our dogs always come home spoiled. Our dogs have included bulldogs, doxies and mixed breeds. Dachshunds can be picky about who they accept as suitable humans. Drs. Southard also get a wagging tail.

My family and I have used this vet for almost 30 years. They are wonderful. The father son team are brilliant and kind and have wonderful bedside manner. And the techs arent too shabby either!! The whole team here works really well together, I always leave feeling appreciated and educated about my pet and her health. Whether it be just an annual check up, or that time my pup and I got into a car accident, theses guys can handle anything with grace and love.

Found a dog and call this place like five minutes before they close trying to find out if the dog have a microchip, I was like 3 minutes away from this clinic and they just pretty much didnt care this is what they said: "we are about to close , you can bring him first thing tomorrow morning". I know they are not 24 hours, But something like this I dont think It should have being a problem, it doesnt take more than 10 minutes to check for a microchip.

Jim Southard Sr. has been a personal and professional friend for almost the entire time he has been in practice. From the first kitty we adopted from Willa via the SPCA back in 1975 until today with our little phoebe we would trust no one else with our pets. Jim, Jr. is following in his Dads footsteps.
