We started taking our dog to Country Oaks when we needed a place to kennel him. He had lost a significant amount of weight (which he didnt need to lose!) while kenneled at our previous vets for a couple of weeks because they "forgot" that he was supposed to be fed twice a day so he only got half the food he needed. Country Oaks couldnt have been more different. You could tell that they really loved animals and, by the second time we went there, they knew our dog by name and were always genuinely happy to see him. We certainly didnt have to worry that they would forget to feed him or fail to notice if his condition changed significantly while he was there. Based on our positive experience kenneling our dog there, we started going to Country Oaks for all of our veterinary needs. Several years later, our dog unfortunately developed cancer. Country Oaks was very helpful in laying out all of our treatment options and a realistic prognosis of the likely outcomes. Eventually, we had to put our dog down when the cancer progressed too far and Ill never forget the caring attention that we (both dog and owner) received while we were there. They did everything they could to make our dog as comfortable as possible and had enough caring left to comfort us as well. A short time later, we even received a very personal and touching sympathy card from them. Another time, my wife and kids found an injured tortoise and Country Oaks was the only place we could find that was willing to try to help it. After speaking to them on the phone, we took it in and they seemed hopeful that they would be able to rehabilitate it. Now thats going above and beyond the call of duty!

Dr. Baird and her staff are amazing! The care and compassion she shows our three dogs, Mia, Molly and Roxy, is unlike any other vet we have ever seen. I think it is just as important to have trust in your vet as you would your own primary care physician, and I can say you can certainly trust Dr. B and her staff. There are times we have to wait a bit after our appointment time, but that is because Dr. B takes care with all of her patients, and I get the same care as the person before me so we dont mind at all. We appreciate the personal care Dr. B gives to us. With all the pets she sees on a daily basis, she always remembers what our girls have gone through or are going through. It would be nice if we could purchase prescription food elsewhere, and not just through the office. I understand why this is done for medications, because Dr. B cares about YOUR fur kids, and getting medications from online "vets", can be dangerous, just so you can save a couple of dollars. As for the comments about being pricey? I do agree! When we started with Dr. B her prices were not as high as they are now. We switched to Country Oaks because Dr. Bs reputation and because her prices were reasonable. Perhaps for long time customers a discount program can be introduced; especially for families with more than one pet.

If I could give this "hospital" a negative five stars, I would. This animal hospital is over-priced severely and I have never not waited at least 30 minutes for my appointment after my appointment time. They will require for your pet to come in for an appointment even if you want to renew a prescription for allergies! Something that is not curable and wont go away. My poor animal has to wait weeks on end, because they wont email/fax it to you or anywhere else, for me to get a prescription so I can get his medication elsewhere because their medicine is so over-priced. Oh, and even though you only came in for one reason, they will try to push you out the door with six other types of medicine. Also, they have done things to my pet that I have not approved, such as nail clipping and other tests, and I still have to pay for them. I have never walked out of that office without paying at least $200 for ONE dog. I COMPLETELY RECOMMEND FINDING A CLINIC!!! Much more cost efficient and they actually care about your pets well-being.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I have two dogs, one 56 lbs and one 54lbs. My girlfriend and I both called at separate times asking about their boarding rates, and they told us it would be cheaper to board them together, reducing the price from 24$ a night to 21$ a night. She was under the same impression when she dropped them off. Fast forward to pick up time, a random 208$ charge was added for being boarded together. We were never told there would be an extra charge between two phone calls and the meeting when we dropped them off. After arguing for 45 minutes and the assistant manager not believing us and being rude, it was finally dropped. Then they brought out our dogs and food. The food container that used to be clean had a miscellaneous substance all over it, maybe dirt maybe coffee? Then we noticed our measuring cup was stolen. After looking over the paperwork, our dogs had each lost between 4-6 pounds and their ribs are now unhealthily showing. Never take your dog here.

Dr Baird and the staff provide professional and compassionate care, treating your pets as they would family. We have been going to Country Oaks for years for vet care and boarding for our 2 cats and German Shepherd, Stella. This past Thanksgiving week Stella was not herself and we took her to the ER Vet after hours care. They took X-rays and blood work and determined that Stella had a mass attached to her spleen. We brought Stella into Dr. Baird the following morning with her records from the ER vet. The staff at Country Oaks was so caring and Dr Baird performed the life saving surgery. They all know Stella from her regular visits and boarding and they were very concerned pre-op. Dr Baird went above and beyond to give Stella the best care possible. She even came in on her day off to check on her. Thanks to Dr Baird and her amazing staff, we had our Stella home for Thanksgiving and we could not ask for more than that!

Not only is Dr. Baird the best diagnostician around hands down, but she actually listens to us as clients and believes wholeheartedly in the "gut feelings" we have about our pets. Most vets Ive known (and left) in the past have no listening skills and push their treatment plan and agenda on you with little explanation. Dr. Baird has cared for my dogs for over 15 years now and I never recommend anyone else. Shes a gifted surgeon, a conservative practitioner, a master with pain control (board certified!) and just downright nice. And while she is my vet of choice there, I realize she cant work forever and have seen the other providers there as well. Im never disappointed. If staff (including vets) dont meet her high standards they just dont stay. Dont think twice about going there for excellent care! You wont be disappointed!

Doctor Baird is very pleasant in bedside-manner. Although I have had to wait due to emergency visits coming in the staff tried to progress my visit as much as possible before seeing the doctor. They were apologetic and polite at all times. Doctor Baird discovered that my dog was having a rare allergic reaction that cats sometimes have to an ear medication provided by my previous vet. She only charged half price for a revisit and her staff made followup calls over the phone. They are thorough in explaining the care procedures and itemized charges. I prefer to be present while they administer shots and other medication and they were accommodating to my wishes. Overall I have had a good experience with this veterinarian and recommend her.
