I almost put my cat to sleep over a run of the mill UTI. If I could give Dr. Godfrey 0 stars, I would. I took my cat in on an emergency basis because my he had not been eating or going to the bathroom for days. Dr. Godfrey insisted that the only way he could treat my cat is if we paid $400 to have blood work & thyroid testing done to pin point the problem. I can’t afford to spend $400. I thought I was going to have to put my cat to sleep. I even asked Dr. Godfrey for a price to put him to sleep. Dr. Godfrey never offered any other treatment options, even after I asked – “Is there anything we can do besides the blood work?” & even after I asked for a price to put him to sleep. His only answer was the $400 blood work. Thankfully, I called another vet before putting my cat to sleep. I called Skyway Animal Hospital. They told me over the phone that his symptoms are typical of a routine Urinary Tract Infection & to bring him in for an antibiotic shot. I took him in this morning & he is feeling better already. I am absolutely LIVID at this vet & the way they handled this emergency. Dr. Godfrey either has no compassion for the animals & is only interested in milking the dollars out of his patients, or is such a bad vet that he can’t diagnose in person what a vet’s assistant diagnosed over the telephone!!! Either way, he should retire & get out of the business. He would have let me put my cat, my companion, to sleep over a regular old UTI!

Ive been going here for 2 years. My dog has Addisons disease and needs a monthly injection of percortin otherwise he gets extremely sick and could die. The other day I showed for his monthly injection and as usual they were pushing their greedy money making agenda on me. Telling me I need all this other stuff. I questioned it and was told to leave. I asked why I cannot question what treatments you are giving my dog. They were extremely rude and asked me to leave again. I said wait a minute I have an appointment for a monthly injectuon and you know damn well if I dont get it he could go into adisonian shock and even die. Its not easy to find another vet on short notice. Please give him the injection and you will never have to see me again and ill have a month to find new vet. I was told no and to leave immediately. These people DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL. They are there only to make money pushing services and vaccinations you do not need and when you question them they throw you out like a criminal. This is the worst vet I have ever dealt with, with unfair practices and downright rude staff. Ive given then well over $2500 in last two years. I will gladly take my Dog to a vet that cares about their customers and their pets! I am disgusted by the way they treated me and my boy! They should be ashamed if theirselves

Took my beagle/spaniel mix to get his vaccines 08.26.17. Hes never had issues with the vet and typically loves the techs and staff. This time the staff gave him way to many treats such which I suspected caused him to get sick, which coupled with his vaccs didnt help. 3 days later, however, and he still wont touch his food which had me concerned. I received a call from either a Cheryl or Carole 08.28.17 who coincidentally was checking up on my dog, however she was flippant about my concern when I brought it up. When I told her I didnt want my dog to receive any treats as the types they gave out may not have agrees with him she dismissed my command and said it sa their way of calming dogs down. When I reaffirmed that I was not ok with that and inquired about the vaccs my dog received and if vomitting and refusal to eat was normal, she would not give me a clear or defined answer. She kept talking over me and dismissing any concerns I had, even saying some thing about how they have 100 people a day Nd nothing bad ever happens. To put bluntly, how the Hell are you going to dismiss a customers concern about their dog so blatantly and disrespectuflly? I will be looking into a different vet for my dog: the last thing I want to think about is how this clinic would react if they screwed up and hurt or worse killed my dog.

I love this hospital. I have been with them for 7 years. I have two pets and they take good care of them. They are polite friendly, and they take last minute appointments when they can, which has been most of the time. I remember the very first time I took my chihuahua to the hospital for a bee sting and they treated my little baby like he was a child. The care is remarkable. Not only that, Pinellas Animal Hospital keeps you informed of new treatments and the cost are reasonable. I love the doctors and the staff is extremely friendly. Additionally, the best part of the experience is that the staff will call you the very next day to check on your pet to see if he is doing ok. It is truly like taking your pet to the pediatrician. I live all the way in Land O Lakes but I refuse to change animal hospitals because of the gentle care my pets receive.

As a former employee of Pinellas Animal Hospital I will always be proud to say I worked for and with some of the kindest and most respectable people in the business. From day one I was taken aback by the professionalism and compassionate care that PAH provides its patients and clients. Rest assured this professionalism and compassion carries on behind the scenes every day. Drs. Godfrey, Elmer, and Wallen provide medical care well beyond standards and are genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of your pets. The staff are all kind-hearted and it shows in the care they provide. I currently live in another county but I continue to make the drive and bring my pets to the people I trust most. I will always recommend Pinellas Animal Hospital because I believe in what they stand for and their high standards of care.

We were regulars here, but after boarding my cat for 5 days, he was returned to me with his belly and bottom covered in dried diarrhea. He had obviously sat in it at least overnight, and they couldnt have not seen it while loading him into the carrier. But they never mentioned it to me and I only realized once I was down the road and the smell had filled the car. I called after bathing him, and they tried to tell me it must have happened while they were loading him up, and that he was being aggressive. I know that it must have happened much earlier than that, and someone choose to ignore it. I paid $120 for the boarding, but they offered only $25 in account credit. Were finding a new vet & boarder.
