My terrier went in to be spayed everything seemed fine until 5 days later she started having muscle spasms, refused food/ water and drooled. I called they took me in immediately, and couldnt figure out what was wrong but reccommended blood test, free meds to take home and x rays Oh and gave her a penicillin shot. That was not my complaint, I took her home in the same condition and tried the meds overnite. Nothing changed so I was asked to come back in, mind me my dog is experiencing lock jaw, drooling, muscles spasms & severe trouble breathing. The next day, I got the blood test, penicillin again and fluids to keep her hydrated she stayed all day in their care, nothing changed. They called me right before they closed to tell me she was taking a turn for the worst and the diagnoses was probably Tetanus, I was told to take her to Blue Pearl, I did and 3 hrs later she was on her last leg they presented me with a bill of $1100-$1600 to stabilize her for 12-24 hrs! When I told them I didnt have that type of money, they reasoned so I asked for other options about putting her down, they came back a few minutes later to let me know she was on her last breath to quickly out her down so she wouldnt be in pain. I did so, she was a year old and very healthy before Vetcare Village. My point is they dont have enough experienced doctors with enough brains to diagnose in time for a pet to have a chance. Tetanus is a bacterial infection that gets in by a cut or wound, she had just been spayed and had no visible cuts or wounds accept the from the spay. You do not need blood test or x rays to diagnose Tetanus the symptoms are clear: drooling, muscle spasms, fever, lockjaw! She may still be alive if an experienced staff was working there I believe to give the anti-viral shot for tetanus and then other meds for the muscle spasms. I cant bring her back but you can save your pet by taking her somewhere that the staff cares about pets and not just a paycheck!

I took my dog here for 3 years and every visit was awful. They try to sell you on everything they have, when it is not necessary and then try to make you feel guilty for saying no. Every time I would take my dog in, they would tell me that he was too fat and needed to be on the food that they recommended and conveniently sold there at the office. I know what my dog should weigh and what the weight expectations for his breed are (which he is within). His new vet has since told me that he is a "fit and healthy dog". With every visit, also came the "flea lecture". Mind you, I used the meds that they recommended every month, I check his coat and skin regularly, give him regular baths and take preventative measures in and around my home and have not ever seen a flea on him. The staff at Vet Care are very unfriendly and uncaring. I do not recommend this place. All they care about is padding their wallet and not the actual well being of your pet.

Dr. Flicker and the staff at Village Animal Hospital were absolutely amazing. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and welcomed me and my new puppy with open arms. Dr. Flicker spent a generous amount of time with me answering all of my questions, and did not leave until we were both satisfied that I understood everything that had been discussed. The facilities were positively spotless and well maintained both indoors and out. It is a 45 minute drive for me, but I was so impressed with my first visit that I have decided to continue to use Village Animal Hospital for all of my animals needs.

Ive been a VetCare Village customer for 20 years now. They cared for my first beagle from the time he was a pup until he passed away and now they have been caring for my two new beagles for the past 4 years. Their staff is always warm, friendly, professional, and compassionate. They have very little turn over in staff, as many folks have been there the full 20 years Ive been coming there. They give excellent care to my dogs and I plan to stay with them as long as I own dogs. I have other vets that are closer to me, but its worth it to me to drive a little bit farther for the care I receive.

I have been taking my Dogs to Vet Care for about 30 years now. It is without a doubt one the of the best facilities that I have ever been to. The staff and the Doctors are second to none. I moved from Tampa to St. Petersburg 4 years ago and I still come back to Vet Care. Dr. Brian Shaw is one of those Doctors that will listen to the owners because he understands that they know their pet better than anyone. Part Doctor and part family friend he will always do what ever he can for your furry family members. A true find, this is a great place for your pets Mitchell

The staff working here are very personable and compassionate and in my opinion care for not only the animals, but the owners as well. Everyone was friendly and very thorough in their work. The wait time was surprisingly quick, however I did have an early appointment. Services are a little pricey compared to other vet hospitals, but I believe you get what you pay for and I highly recommend this facility. Definitely one of the best vet experiences Ive had by far!! Big thanks to all the staff that helped my little guy and I!!!

I have been taking my pets to Vetcare Village Animal Hospital for over 35 years. My pets usually see Dr. Simon who is very passionate about his furry patients. He is kind and always willing to answer any questions or concerns I may have. Over the years, I have seen other veterinarians at the practice and all have been excellent, patient and clearly love animals. I always recommend Vetcare Village Animal Hospital to those who ask. I will continue to use the practice for many years.

VetCare Village Animal Hospital has been taking care of our pets since 1980. Dr. Simon and Dr. Flicker are both excellent veterinarians and they have taken wonderful care of all of our animals of the past 35 years. I have full trust and faith in their care and treatment decisions. They have been there for us in healthy pet times and in end of life decisions. You can not ask for better doctors to care for your pets. thank you for all you do. Kyna Tyndall

Id recommend the VetCare Village Animal Hospital because its staff, doctors and technicians are always kind, welcoming and do a fine job. They have health insurance plans to make it a little bit more affordable and they seem to be truly caring for their 4-legged patients. They are not a holistic animal care place where theyd recommend natural solutions to problem, or support species appropriate raw diet for dogs or cats, thats why I didnt give 5 stars.

Friendly, knowledgeable, and personable staff. Have been an client of VetCare for over 30 years and would recommend them to all. While they may not necessarily be the cheapest, they are extremely thorough and look out for the best interest of not only the pet but the interactions between the pet and their owners. Highly recommend VetCare to anyone looking for a professional, friendly, honest, knowledgeable, caring facility for their pets.
