When we first met Dr. J in January of 2012, my son was just 3 years old and went unconscious with no explanation. We were rushed to the hospital and admitted for testing, both neurological & cardiac, and in that same hospital stay he diagnosed my son with complex partial seizures after a 48 hr EEG. I was a scared and sensitive mom, and I admit at first I found Dr. Jacinto abrupt when explaining my sons diagnosis, but he was amazing with my son so I remained neutral. We saw him a few more times in his office, he was never rude, but definitely to the point. He also always reached out to connect with my kiddo. We moved out of state for 2 years and saw 3 different neurologists under my sons SSI; One who barely looked at my son and was incredibly rude to me, another who never returned calls or had time to see him, and the last who I had to take out extra student loans just to pay extra for because he wasnt in network, but I was desperate for someone to care for my son and treat him properly. Admittedly, the 3rd doctor was amazing (imagine that)...but I went broke in Georgia trying to get my son help. After experiencing those doctors over two years, I moved back here 6 months ago and immediately made an appt for my son to see Dr. Jacinto, appreciating what I couldnt totally before. He was accessible, he was competent, and he cared about my son. He spent 20 minutes or more with us just catching up on everything my son had experienced, both connecting with and evaluating my son, and then formulating a plan of action. I know now that as long as we are here, I will trust him completely with my sons care. His job is to evaluate, treat, and care for my childs needs (not mine) which he does an exemplary job of. I highly recommend him and would refer anyone I cared about to his practice.

Worst experience ever! I finally have the emotional strength to write a review. The subject was just so sensitive to me two years ago. I was very hurt and bitter about the resulting further mental and physical delay my son experienced because of his offices lack of urgency and mistakes. Went here for about a year and was severely mistreated and disrespected. Dr. Jacinto is rude and sarcastic. I had to endure it that long because I was putting my sons needs first and didnt want to change doctors in the middle of his seizure treatments. Staff is irresponsible. Dr. Jacinto called me a "bad and unfit" mom and threatened to call social services because I was a day late ordering inportant meds that arrive from a natial pharmacy. I was well aware of the gravity, but my son was having so many medical issues at the time! I acted ahead of time, and contacted his office to secure the proper meds. He was not out of meds yet, and I had time to secure them meds locally with his help. My sons therapists, doctors, my family and friends were absolutely shocked at this because theyre all too familiar with me and how much of an advocate I am for my son! Im not perfect, but I certainly go above and beyond to ascertain that my son is happy, healthy, and taken care of. He made me cry in his office and was un-phased by me. I will add details when I have time (edit this). I am so relieved we never have to go here again. My toddler is better off with a more thorough and caring staff. They are dismissive and make lost of mistakes. Im happy to travel down to St. Petersburg to see Dr. Winesette!

Totally horrible. It is nearly impossible to make an appointment. First I call and they say I need a referral. No, I dont (my insurance doesnt require it even though I do have an HMO) but OK, whatever, I will get it faxed over. My pediatrician did it the same day. Then I call back, and they will not make the appointment without my sons social security number over the PHONE. Who does that? The insurance isnt even under his social, its under mine. Maybe most of his patients are Medicaid so it goes by the social, but we are not. Whatever, again, I hang up, go home, get his social out of the safe where I keep it because I dont want his identity stolen, and call back AGAIN. Now, they cant find my referral! You have GOT to be joking! I get the pediatrician to fax it again. I call again. Now they tell me the referral is not good enough because it doesnt include an expiration date and how many visits the primary care is allowing me. Um, excuse me, but that is NOT how my insurance works! You cannot treat people with a one-size-fits-all approach! And its great that he is good with kids but you have to deal with the parents too you jerk, we are the ones paying the bills after all! I do NOT recommend. His staff sounds very uneducated on the phone (they are probably horribly underpaid while the doctor lines his pockets) Two thumbs WAY down!!! Find ANY other doctor unless you want the run around. Why didnt the staff tell me EVERYTHING they needed the FIRST time I called instead of making me run around for a week?!

I love Dr. Jacinto and hes actually one of the best if not the best neurologist in Tampa. My problem is his office team in North Tampa specifically appointment schedulers. To put it nicely hes got incompetent people making appointments and reviewing referrals. I once sat at his office in Brandon for two hours because the North Tampa didnt think it was important to review a pre-faxed referral ahead of time. The Brandon team was apologetic and someone even admitted that they (Armenia team) usually dont know what theyre doing most of the times. My latest issue with them is charging me for a NO show free when their system failed to send out a reminder. The woman whom I spoke to even admitted that their records show that I didnt get a reminder but according to her her manager insisted that I had to pay $35 for a no show. Wheres your responsibility ms. Office manager? No one carries with them appointment cards anymore and IF I am responsible for confirming an appointment via your automated system (which I never did because you never sent a reminder) then YOU should be responsible for sending that reminder. Love the doctor, love the PA...cant stand the office people who make appointments and "manage" referrals!!

Absolutely would not recommend to anyone. My son was seen here and had 2 EEGs at this office. The doctor didnt even call to give the results, one of his nurses did. They said the EEG was perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Low and behold, he has a bad seizure a few days later. We went to the hospital then a different neurologist and did a third EEG. The doctor immediately saw there were abnormalities in the brain waves on the left side of his brain and promptly started him on anticonvulsants. This should have been done two months ago when we saw Jacinto after his first seizure. He didnt pay enough attention to detail to the results of my sons EEG to notice that there were abnormalities. And he didnt give a crap enough to even call us and tell us the "results." And now Im stuck paying this quack tons of money that I should be giving the doctor thats actually helping him. The new doctor actually ordered an MRI and is taking precautions to make sure that my son is on the correct treatment plan. This guy is a joke and does not care about the wellbeing of his patients!!!!
