I have been taking my daughter here for about 4 yrs now and just recently had my son that now attends this same office. Well I really like doctor Ten Kate she is pretty good and she cares and actually listen to her patients concerns. Now that her patient work load is so high the owner "Patel" fills in on Thursdays and shes on call every now and then. Patel is VERY VERY VERY RUDE!!!! she was on call one day when I called. My son had a bad cough and had been getting progressively worst. Mind you he was only 8 wks at the time. I was so fearful that it might have been pertussis. So I called and explained to her my concerns. I wasnt sure if I should have brought him to an urgent care or wait until Monday. and she basically told me that she doesnt know what to tell me because she hasnt examined him. I said ok well this is whats going on, Im pretty concerned because its now 2 wks and hes still coughing and as Im saying this to get some type of direction from her she still me, " OH, SHUT UP AND JUST TAKE HIM TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM THEN!!!!!" I was so out raged but I did keep my cool enough to tell her my kids are patients here and this is not the way you speak with your clients. And I told her she was very rude and hung up in her face. Need less to say Im looking for a new office!

Ive been taking my 15 month old to Ten-Kate for almost 1 year. Although I think she is very intelligent and experienced in her field, I think she has more patients than she can handle. Everytime I need an appointment theres nothing open for at least 1 month. Even when my child goes to the ER and Im instructed to do a follow-up, I STILL need to wait a month, or see one of the other doctors that are not familiar with my sons ongoing upper-respiratory issues. Dont bother asking her receptionist for any help, shes rude and useless. Need a shot record, or any other kind of records for school, etc? Well the nurse is the only one that prepares them, and shell make you wait until the waiting room is empty to do it. Their availablity it horrible, latest appointment is around 2pm, and earliest is 9am, but you can plan to be there waiting until 11. So any and every appointment means taking a full day off of work. Im in the process of switching doctors, because the lack of common courtesy in this office is unbearable.

Good thing I looked at these reviews because I just moved to the Tampa and need a pediatrician. I was recommended to Ten-Kate and have very high expectations when it comes to pediatricians and their offices. WONT be taking my son there!
