I had the worst experience ever at this dentist office. I was in shock when I arrived and realized that the office had no real privacy when they examine the children. Conversations between the staff was so unprofessional in the presence of parents and children. Here, the doctors examine the patient and never engage with the parent. I was also shocked that instead of the doctors speaking to the parents about their findings after each examination this system allows the technicians/workers to discuss the patients outcome of their examinations with the parents. When I requested to speak to the doctor, I was told that the office had seen 37 patients that day, and the doctor was already in a procedure with another patient. It was also explained that the doctors does not speak to parents unless there are major issues. Although I requested to speak to the doctor again about my childs visit and the concerns I had I was told the doctor had left for the day. Now I found that to be so ironic that the doctor was in a procedure and gone within 10 minutes of my request. The exam room for hygiene was open, with several chairs and patients looking and listening to other patients personal business-no privacy what-so-ever. I am not saying that this practice is not good for those who wants to be a part of this new way of dentistry, however, it is not for my family. I was in total shock at the lack of professionalism in this setting. This office is a fasted paced environment that does not lend itself to have a personal effect that ensured me that my children got the professional care that we needed. We were told that they needed fillings, however, In order for them to have fillings done, I could not get it done on the same day, I would have to schedule another visit to have that done. Never in the history of going to the dentist did I have to schedule a second visit to have fillings done on a child. I am so grateful that we have choices and do not have to settle for less than professionalism in a business setting. Lastly, the waiting room was like a zoo!!! The children was was loud, running around yelling to the top of their lungs. The parents of these children allowed this to go on and finally the staff behind the desk yelled at the children several times, " Look , you guys got to stop and get quiet". Her repeated yelling along with the kids made it just as bad My child had to take her earrings off and placed them in a cup while taking an x-ray. We never got those back as well!!! Frustrated and disappointed!!!!!!

I woke up to a phone call, it was kool smiles and I thought wow how professional the company is to verify my appnt. Sure enough the clerk verified my appnt, however when we spoke further she informed me she needed more info and I was happy to give it. Yet as the call progressed I noticed she wasnt knowledgeable of the procedures because she kept asking me repeatedly to provide the same information. Finally after the questions I asked is there anything else you need from me and she replied no. When I arrive I signed in and awaited my daughters name to be called, 20 minutes past, no call(need I remind you I was 15minutes early for my along) 25 more minutes past and I approached the desk they ask me to fill out paperwork and provide proof of insurance with my ID. 45minutes after my arrival. Strike 1. Strike 2. When I filled out the paperwork they told me that they were having trouble pulling me up and identifying my insurance. Smh 30 minutes later I speak to their manager and she informs me that my daughter and I are labeled under two different insurances (so why didnt the front desk clerk inform me of this earlier that morning when they called?). She also said that they had ta call and verify something with some insurance security services, and she said their computers were down, and the one that does work is unattended cuz they rather talk amongst each other or be on the phone. The manager advised I call my insurance to have them fax over verification. (Groans, sighs) OK so I call my insurance and they inform me that kool smiles shouldve informed me they needed "dental" verification and not just proof of insurance. So after I did their job of getting the number, verifying the insurance, having it faxed over, (sounds like the duties of a secretary right? And at kool smiles its 5 people and none of them could call to do this?) and waiting for two hours they received my fax and called my daughter 10minutes after. When I spoke to the clerks and looked at their scheduled visitors they put my name at a 11:15am and they spelled my name wrong (just like they misspelled cool and wrote kool). So on top of the unorganized, unprofessional reps and employees they scheduled me wrong and misspelled my name adding to the confusion of my circumstance. Smh what a day. This is the worst first impression and last impression.

My husband wanted to bring our son here & I didnt. I went against my better judgement and let our son go anyway. We got there early because we knew we had to fill out some paperwork. Others who came in after us & had to fill out paper work as well was seen before us. We waited over an hour. After finally seeing the dentist she told us to make another appointment. I went to the front desk the girl sitting at the desk was talking bad about someone in their that was waiting on their child. Her exact words were "if she spoke English then she would have understood". That was rude & to do this in front of customers, patients, etc was even worse. After waiting at the desk for 3 minutes as shes acting like shes on the computer. I told her I need to make an appointment for my son. She replied really rude & nasty "I know". I looked at my husband and he just said dont worry about it. My second visit my son was "supposed" to have a procedure. After everything being done the dentist informed me they couldnt do it. Why would the dentist tell me on the day of instead of before hand and my son had x-rays done to make sure. 2 strikes & thats it for me. With Kool Smiles being as huge as they are & are everywhere nothing should go on like this. This was the worse experience for myself and my son. You all need to train your people a little better. Just because this place sits on Old National Hwy does NOT mean the girl at the front desk can talk to people any kind of way or be rude. Thanks for the experience but I rather drive far out then to put my son through any of this again or to deal with rude employees.

Take Caution! My family has been to this location many times over the years and I must say I left angry. I was scheduled for an eight oclock appointment. I arrived on time, unknowingly waiting for nothing. When I spoke to the receptionist she said the Dr.Stewart doesnt arrive before 9:15 and i was scheduled for a cleaning that I never asked for. I proceeded to tell her why that would be pointless because my appliance lays against my teeth. I then showed her my appliance and they agreed. I was then told that the orthodontist would need to view me first to see what needs to be done, it was my choice to wait. I decided to stay naturally. After waiting patiently I went back to desk to see if the Dr had arrived, it was already 9:40! Neither women sitting addressed or looked up. I stood there over five minutes before they acknowledged me. Finally the girl furthest left said "are you is your last name Watson" I replied "yes" she said " Oh he said no he cant do it" and turned to her computer. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????????? What kind of business is this? Bad enough they canceled my previous appointment! Then you turn paying patients away without even an evaluation! I didnt take even a step in the back and was told I was unable to be helped. As a side note Ive been viewed at this same location by another orthodontist(white female, very friendly) who said it can be removed and she gave me an estimate. Tell me how an orthodontist can make decisions WITHOUT so much of a smell of my breathe!
