After 5 years of neglecting my dental hygiene I decided to go back to the dentist, and decided to give this office a try since it was very close to home. The atmosphere was pretty decent, gave me the feeling that I could trust these people in my mouth. Obviously I was going to need some work after all that neglect. I went in for teeth cleaning, the hygienist did a phenomenal job, she explained everything that she was doing, and even explained the importance of me flossing. A lot of people and dentist have told me how important it is to floss but never really cared enough to until that day. I had already gotten a root canal back when I was a freshman in high school, and was told that I needed a crown. I was going to get the work done elsewhere because they did not except both my insurance, so when i called to cancel they made an exception for me and it saved me the hassle of switching offices. She did a decent job of explaining why i needed a crown and the process of how getting the crown works, but what she failed to let me know was that you cannot whiten crowns. Which is pretty valuable information especially if you are dissatisfied with the coloration of your teeth. I had to find this information out by the people I was getting my teeth whitened by. The only way to get your crown whitened is to replace it. So when I brought it to the dentist attention she stated that people dont usually get their whole teeth whitened and that they usually get their fronts done, and that i should gradually whiten them using crest whitening strips and try to moderate it to make sure its not that big of a difference from my crown. Not the type of information that you would want to hear, especially if youre getting married and want to look perfect in your bridal photos. Im not sure if it was too much for her to actually speak the truth ,or if she just didnt want to do anything about it ? Because I definitely wouldnt mind paying a little extra to be satisfied especially since my wedding day is just around the corner. So now I have to go through the hassle of getting a new crown. I have a cleaning scheduled in another 4 months, although the hygienist did great getting my mouth cleaned probably will not be returning. 4 stars for the lack of information. 3 stars for the unfriendly assistant. She may have just have resting b*tch face syndrome but either way it was an experience I would not want to go through again.

BEYOND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Stay away from this place. Being African American I try to patronize my own, but these black folks in here are succeeding in robbing their patients, insurance companies and anyone else who dare come through their door. They tried to charge my 16 year old daughter who has good teeth and a beautiful smile over $800 (out-of-pocket) for fillings. I have the best insurance Cigna offers through my law firm with an 80/20 deductible. When I confronted them and asked how in world they came up with an $800 out-of-pocket charge, they told me they use a "special filling" that is only covered at 35% through my insurance company and 65% on my end. Something was real fishy since my insurance pays 80% and my deductible has already been satisfied for this year. I was completely taken aback when the office worker (not the dentist) said they could possibly do the work for half the price. "Who does that, a haggling dentist office?" "Get out of here". Im not at a swap meet, I am discussing my daughters teeth. These folks ought to be ashamed of themselves. I asked for my daughters x-rays that I/my insurance company paid for on our prior visit and they charged me an additional $25.00 and told me I needed to pay in CASH. "Are you kidding me". My husband paid the $25.00, got the x-rays and had our insurance company find us a new doctor down the road located at 301 North Main. I live and breath by reviews so I only thought it would be right to share my daughters experience. Think before you patronize this dentist office because it could save you a whole lot of your hard earned money to just go somewhere else in our community. There are other African American dentists in our area that are not looking to take advantage of you and your family. If you come across this office "ARENA DENTAL GROUP" in your search for a dentist, keep scrolling and find someone and someplace else.

I was referred to Dr Thomass office and I visited Arena reluctantly due to the fact that I knew what dental issues I was having in the past and was quoted a substantial amount of money to have filings done and some other work. I was very nervous walking in as I had not seen a new dentist for over 8 mos. I went in and had an exam and cleaning which truthfully speaking wasnt bad like my previous dental group I saw. The young lady that did my cleaning was super cool and took her time to explain the importance of coming in on time for my cleanings. The Dr was amazing with her exam - she had a great bedside manner and made me feel extremely comfortable because she explained to me - not chastised me about neglecting my cavities like the other group. Now the worst part - who wants to talk payment right? Actually they broke down my benefits for me for my insurance and the out of pocket cost was extremely lower than the previous (well known group) I had went to before. I have since finished all my treatment - with out all those ugly silver filings and I have extreme confidence in my Dr and her staff !! They even followed up with me regarding my fillings!!! Who does that lol- I love it! Super clean office and I will add too that I have NEVER been in and out of a dental office so fast! Dr Thomas gets it done and I recommend her to all!

Very professional! Also very neat and clean! Im always greeted with and smile by the front staff. Dr.Thomas is very knowledgeable when it comes to informing her patients. The back staff is also patient and awesome at what they do. I recommend Arena Dental Group!
