ONE STAR for a VERY BAD experience here at KINDRED CENTRAL with my loved one. January 7th 2016, my loved one was moved to Kindred by me due to neglect at Aperion International 4815 S. Western. My loved one developed a BEDSORE to the sacrum at Aperion. I was told By Kindred staff, that they would take better care of my loved one. It got worse at Kindred Central. My loved one also developed a BEDSORE to the left ear at Kindred. This was due to the Nurses & C N As not turning & proper positioning of the patient on time, as described by Drs orders. I would be in my loved ones room for over two hours unnoticed because of the room being around from Nurses desk across the hall from staffs break room. From day one of my loved one arriving to Kindred The Intake floor was nasty. Blood and trash was on the floor. Some patients [All on Life Support] were not in rooms. Most Staff [beyond the front desk] were not professional at all. After asking staff, My loved one was moved to the 3rd floor. It took almost 30 days for Kindred to fix the back light in my loved ones room. I kept being told that a work order would be put in by each staff member I spoke with. I contacted Janet Martinez and asked that my loved one be moved to a fully working room. I was told that all rooms were full. Ms Martinez informed Social worker Stephanie. I got a call from Stephanie. She asked if I had any request or concerns. I spoke about the neglect by Nurse KI KI ,and the light. Stephanie called me with Janet Martinez on a conference call. I was told by Stephanie that the light was fixed, and that a nurse Ki KI would not be working for my loved one. Stephanie had no idea I was on my way to Kindred to visit. When I got there, I witnessed the JANITOR in my loved ones room, no gown, gloves, nor a mask on, the bed [with my loved one in it, on full ventilator] was pushed away from the wall enough where his butt was touching the bed. I have pictures. The dust cover of the light open, and the Janitor sneezed. I asked what the hell was he doing? His response was I was told that this light had to be fixed asap. He also said he had asked the Nurse LOPEZ to move the patient across the hall to an empty room four times. Another staff member went to get Nurse LOPEZ. Nurse LOPEZ arrives and sees the situation. All she said was, "Oh my God". Bottom line is; My loved one should have been moved, but was not. Imagine being left on your back for hours with a sacrum sore, dried up feces under you and forced to stare into the flourescent lights, or be in total darkness. Nurses would not even turn the Tv on. Well, Nurse KI Ki [Kee Kee], was so neglectful, that I had to ask that she not work for my loved one anymore. Feces was left on my loved one, and the urine bag was backing up in the catheter. A few days later, according to an employee, Kindred was short of staff. I asked the staff member who was the nurse, I was told it was Ki Ki. I was there for five hours at least. I told Ki Ki that my loved one was in pain and asked for an update on my loved ones condition. I only saw Nurse Ki Ki right before I left. She gave me a fake spill as if I had just gotten there. I told her how long I had been there, and I saw the Respiratory Lady Angela, and the lady that does house keeping, but not her. I waited until she had my loved one cleaned up, and then I left. One morning I called Nurse "Carlos" to do a well being check. He kept referring to my loved one as the opposite sex, but assured me that he had just left the patients room. After I informed him that family and friends were on the way to visit, he lied to me about my loved one being medicated, clean and turned. I got a call about my loved one being in extreme pain, and unclean. Carlos did not know I was on my way into Kindreds parking lot. Nothing had been done for my loved one when I got there C N A Raven was asked by Carlos to assist with my loved one. Raven just stood in the doorway with a stupid look upon her face. I assisted until another C N A came. I wouldnt put a rat in this place.Visit yourFamily
