St Francis ER in Evanston treated me like I was trash. Human TRASH- I was rushed to the ER via ambulance after I was stabbed in the mouth and smashed over the head and had to receive stitches and a staple in my head. While I was waiting for a cat scan and the Dr. to see me ( 1hr and 22 mins) I asked for pictures to be taken- and used my cell to call 911 eight times to have such pictures taken of me in my CURRENT CONDITION, bloody - lip cut badly and blood stained face and head split open ripped clothes black eye, bruises - and I was refused by the hospital and the Chicago Police - as a matter of fact St. Francis allowed an uniformed Chicago FEMALE police sergeant who has no authority in Evanston to barge into my private space and chastise me and threaten to remove and confiscate my phone if I called 911 - one more time. She then disclosed alleged information about a young girl wither neck slashed -0 how this was associated with me I have no idea furthermore how did that poor girl make my incident of assault any less of a crime? The CP Sergeant swore at me and insulted me- by LAW I AM ENTITLED to Evidence Technicians and or the hospital is obligated to DOCUMENT my condition with photographs- for this was assault with a deadly weapon and I was the victim- well even St Francis got on board with my delay in care while I was demanding and waiting for ET from the Police Dept to come- or for St Francis to do something- which they never did and St Francis tried to dismiss me without care and claim that I was AMA - denying medical advice and were using the idle threat of discharge if I did not proceed right NOW with clean up and stitches , well I had no choice and did so- I was adamant that I wanted micro sutures and the Dr. acted like he never heard the term before and gave me FRAKENSTIEN stitches in my lip so now I have a big lump and it looks awful when micro sutures would have repaired my lip in a way where it would be more esthetic and presentable - President OBAMA just cut his lip and got 22 stitches - I got 3. Doctor if your reading this that what micro sutures are...go back to school or call in the right Dr. next time and thank you for a lifetime of deformity. If it were your kid- with a ripped open lip- I bet you would have handled things much differently. And thank you to the Chicago Police department for dropping the ball- and the verbal abuse. I have an internal affair’s report on file regarding this incident on July 19th 2010- as for St Francis - you know who you are - next time you have a trauma patient show a little consideration please and don’t threaten them it’s bad form and immoral and in violation of your ethics code- we the public are too smart for that in this day and age and you place yourself in position for a lawsuit by and through this conduct. I would be remiss if I did not say this was the worst care I have ever received – and I am 50. In closing your Hospital Administrator has yet to call me on this complaint and it Christmas day- how long will it take another 6 months?

I had my first baby here and had an awesome experience--we didnt like one of the nurses, but we just asked another nurse to not let her come back to our room and that was the end of it. Since we were there for 4 days and only found one staff member we didnt like, Id say thats pretty good. The quality of the maternity ward is top-notch--it set such a high bar that now that Ive moved to central Pennsylvania and realized that not all hospitals are like St. Francis, Im disappointed. I also had to visit the ER two weeks after delivering my baby and had no complaints about my experience. I was quickly and very courteously treated by staff, who brought down OB/GYN residents to examine and treat me (I had an infection in my uterus). The ER was pretty busy that afternoon, so they did have to wheel me out of my room and have me sit me on my bed in the hallway for the last 10-15 minutes of my IV drip, but it wasnt a problem. It was also nice to be able to pick up my prescription at the pharmacy on my way out of the hospital. Everything Ive seen about St. Francis leads me to believe that it is an excellent hospital. I also really liked that my OB/GYNs office was in the West Tower--it made the usual delays that come with seeing a private doctor much more manageable if its only a 10-minute walk from where she/he sees patients and where the babies are born! Dr. Bucciero was my OB and she was just amazing in every way (I left her a detailed review explaining why, but I bother mentioning her because she is definitely an asset to St. Francis. Highly recommended hospital.

My wife delivered baby at this hospital a complete month ago. Did not get chance to write review till now. Their services is excellent. Nurses are available very next minute of you press the Help button from patient bed. All the doctors that visited my wife during her stay were great. I now forgot their names i remember Dr. Hannah name who was the main doctor at the delivery time. Excellent doctor, i am not sure how much experienced she had but she seemed well experienced to me. The staff is great that includes pretty much all who i came across with, front desk securities, front desk ladies at family birth place, nurses and doctors. Couple of the nurses who i eagerly wanted to write review about i only remember one of their name, whose name was Cora, Filipino nurse, been serving there for little over 20 years, very smart, knew what she was doing. One another nurse that was there, and i forgot her name but i wrote a letter mentioning her name, and i am glad i at least did that while i was at hospital. She was a young nurse in her early 20s. She was very helpful person. She stop by our room just to check on my wife how she is doing, besides her bi-hourly visit. Overall i had a great experienced with their service. They offer wheelchair service for moms on discharge date. I would highly recommend this hospital(specially for pregnant women). 5 star Thank you Presence Group. Keep up the good work.

I went to st. Francis at about 2am with server pain and swelling in my left foot. Thankfully they were empty. I was wheeled in to the ER. A gentleman came in very friendly. He made a negative remark about my feet not having a pedicure which I found embarrassing. Even though he was right. Not knowing my fininancial state he should not have said anything. I wasnt there to be told I needed a pedicure. I was there for my swollen painful foot. As far as the care they did an x- Ray and found . They gave me Motrin and sent me home with a script for a pedicure as a joke and Motrin. My complaint it they never drew any blood to see if there was something going on. Later at home my foot went down and there was a hole in my foot which meant I was bitten by something in my sleep. My point is what if I had gone home and died because they didnt try to find out what caused it. I will never go there again. Even my friend for church said the same thing. They did nothing.
