I was a mess when I arrived at Kindred. Im Bipolar and was experiencing an extreme bout of mania, I was also having thoughts of suicide. My paranoia and anxiety were in full swing. From the moment I arrived, the staff was sensitive to my needs. The nursing staff is friendly but always proffessional. They made me feel safe and comfortable, which can be a difficult task when caring for someone in my state. Cora, Brian, Nielda and Alli are the names I remember, though all of the nursing staff did a great job. I feel funny singling out individuals by name because they werent the only ones helping me. There were others, like the short nurse that jokingly counted how many times I almost ran into her while I paced feverishly in the halls to let me feel not so goofy about my endless pacing. The counselers also did a wonderful job. Brian, Billy, Miss Lynn, Tom and the Johns were there to help with whatever my needs were, even if it was just someone to talk to but the ones named were not the only ones. The tall, bald guy with the beard was really smooth. Once again, I was a mess, but we could sit and have a conversation and I knew I wasnt being judged by my recent situation. I regret not remembering his name. I had no bad experiences with any of the counselers and hope they will be recognized, along with the nursing staff, for their efforts in helping the patients. From day 1, since arriving at Kindred Hospital Chicago North on February 21st, my health was not the best. I felt welcomed on the 2nd floor by the wound care nursing team (Thank you Ciara, Karla, Claudine, Laura and Dr. Idowu), physical therapy (Thank you Jeanette, Kaitlin, Melissa, Antwon, Eddie, Ann, Brandon, Joe, Sonny and the rest of team), dialysis team (Thank you, Dr. Salem, Ben and the rest of the team...sorry I cant remember all of your names), Cathy in tranport and everyone in respiratory. All of the RNs (Camille, Adai, Antonio, Ms. Blake, Stangey, Trina, Gabby, Patricia, Dominique, Krystal, Irene, Jacob and everyone else). The CNAs (Celi, Belinda aka Peaches, Beverly, Vivian, Rachele, Cherry, Terrie, Clara, Pat, Ben, Olivera, Jeanelle, Ms. V and everyone else that I forgot.) The techs, Demetrius and Carolyn. The phlebotomy team. Thank you, Ester and the rest of the team, for praying with me to get a vein. A special thanks to Laura in Case Management for all she has done, especially getting me a walker to take home. I would like to thank the cooks for the good food, housekeeping (Thank you Vicki and Sean and the rest of the team). Thank you maintenance for putting in my phone the first night. Security. And thank you, Tina, for your assistance for helping me get set up for my "success story" photo shoot.

I would like to thank the staff of Kindred Hospital Chicago North for all of their professional and personal care during my long stay. Dr. Sakla has been good to me over the past 10 years of my care. RNs (Daniel, Bindu, Jessica ,Aisha, Medina, the LPNs on nights (Walter & Ms. Harris), CNAs (Gina, Natowlya, Teiyesha,Yvonne, Ms. Mable,Danielle) Physical Therapy team (Jeanette, Joe, Alex & Megan). I have to give my props to wound care (Ms. Jackson, Gina, Carla). My case manager, Stephanie, was pretty cool. Security Officers Candace & Martha were cool every time. Rosa & Tiffany from housekeeping were awesome. I will miss Ms. Rosa’s smiles and “good mornings”. Delilah and Tina...I just want to thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. You two always went above and beyond for me. If someone ever needed long-term acute care, I would definitely recommend them to come to Kindred Hospital Chicago North. I have no complaints as everyone went out of their way for me. Im going to miss you guys. Wishing you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This Hospital is a joke they are not on top of anything they are neglagent to patients keeping them sedated so they dont have to deal with them , they give patients and there familys the run around .Some doctors are very ignorant and have horrible customer service and do not follow through with there work due to laziness they are intent to go home after there shift and avoid to take responsibility for there patients. This hospital is the lowest and i do mean lowest on satisfactory and i would not refer anyone in any condition to this place .there all about making that money but the quality of hospitality and care is absolutly ridiculous and horrible and they also do not follow hippa guidlines giving out information that should not be passed around .Rating from me Very Very Poor I give this hospital a -0 rating !

I am very grateful to respiratory. But I am more grateful to Melissa and Herie in therapy. I have come a long way. If it wasnt for physical therapy, I dont think I would ever had made it home to be with my children. I also would like to give a special thank you to all the great doctors and nurses who cares for me. Barbara my CNA was an angel with me. She is very loving and sweet and genuinely cares for her patients. Laura my case manager has always been there for all my transitions and has kept me informed on my discharge. She is awesome. Thank you a also to Tina and Delilah for always taking time to always be there for their patients. All my love goes to all the great people who took the time to care for me.

I had requested to come to kindred north and was there for a little over a month. If I had to come back, I would want to stay on 3 east. Nurses Jessica, Craig, Terry and Justina are very caring and kind even with me not speaking good English. But I always have someone to help especially Delilah. I am at a different facilty for more care. I really miss everyone there. Kindred North is like my second home. CNAs Kathy and Marianne have done more than a great job. Dr. Lopez is more than awesome. He is passionate about his patients. I just want management to know 3 East rocks great people. One more person I left out Bonnie the secretary goes above and beyond for patients and her co-workers.

Our 80+ yo mother was admitted in February for Wound Care, (stage 4) but had several other ailments. The staff was very competent and caring for the most part, but there were times when nurses and CNAs were subbed for temps. The wound healed as well as it could, but Dr. JEFF OLSON was very uneven in his care and attitude regarding her other health issues, often shrugging indifferently and on occasion stating ‘everyone has to die of something’. Even with an elderly patient that is NOT the positive attitude we want in a doctor! I can recommend Kindred for those who are well informed about their health, but please find almost any other doctor but that insensitive clod!!

My dad Has gotten horrible service and the doctors and nurses here are very impatient and inconsiderate! Respitory here sucks it took over an hour for them to come after I told them multiple times to page respitory and he couldnt breath and was short of breath! Once I started complaining to the top of my lungs they wanted to act concerned!! Dont give him the medication on time or anything they sit in the office and text all day on they phones and have no care in the world for these patients! My family and I dont like this place and we will be transferring my dad ASAP!!!
