I have seen most of the physicians at Winters Family Practice at one time or another during the 20+ years we have lived in Elgin. They have all been exceptional in listening and diagnosing and relieving my anxieties as well as my ailments. Mostly, however, I try to see Cynthia Applehoff. She has piloted me through some rough seas. Her calmness and her patient (no pun intended) listening skills have been greatly needed. She encourages me in my efforts to lose weight and doesnt shame me when I fail in those efforts. She affirms my choices to use nutritional supplementation to address my difficulties whenever those options are available. She makes all the uncomfortable and embarrassing stuff endurable, and for that alone she deserves high praise. Whenever I have come to the clinic, I have been seen fairly quickly - at Winters Family Practice appointment times are respected. Ive been quite pleased with that aspect of clinic management. Also, I have always found the various staff people to be exceptionally helpful and efficient. Messages do get through to the proper people. Calls are returned. Prescriptions are refilled. They no doubt have many plates in the air, but Ive never seen them drop a single one of my own plates.

My Family as well as my In laws have been with Winters Family Practice for years .We have always been able to get in quickly even for emergency appointments .Phone calls are always returned. We have never been kept waiting and have always been treated very well .All the staff behind the counter and in the back offices are great and quick to help in anyway, we have had to use all of them many times. we have seen several Doctors at this Practice and all have been great .I have been with Dr Myrda the longest, He always shakes hands with a smile and makes you feel welcome and takes the extra time to go over any and all concerns . I never have felt that I was a number in this Office and have always been shown great respect . Thats just the kind of office this is. You wont find any better. Bryan Skinner S Elgin Il

My last visit was horrible. I was deathly ill with fever, vomiting and severe diarrhea and I had to sit in the waiting room for over an hour and then another half hour in the room. I wore a diaper because it was so bad. I was too weak to drive so my husband had to bring me. Then Dr. Solis said I had to poop in the hat and scoop my own feces into jars for testing for C-diff. I was choking and gagging and could not get enough. When I called for a nurse to take care of it she looked at me like I was nuts. Dr. Solis guaranteed me I would leave with a prescription. It took 3 days for Walmart to acknowledge that there was a prescription for me. I called every day. Then I called the Dr. again and finally the prescription showed up. THIS IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER BEEN TREATED AT THIS PLACE.

When I moved to Elgin 3 years ago and first went to Winters Family Practice, I found a group of very kind and caring professionals. Dr. Myrda has been an excellent primary care physician, and the nurses and assistants treat everyone with respect and kindness. I appreciate that I can have my tests done at the same location, so when I visit with the doctor he already has all the important information he needs to understand and treat my concerns. He is also excellent at arming me with whatever information might be helpful for maintaining my good health. I highly recommend Winters Family Practice to anyone looking for a really positive family healthcare experience.

I have been going to see Dr. Solis for almost 10 years now after a family friend highly recommended her. When I had my son two years ago, my husband and I decided to go take him to Dr. Solis instead of a pediatrician and have had no problems with her or the office. She is a very kind, warm and smart doctor. (Im an ICU nurse so Ive met my share of doctors and am knowledgeable in the medical field) Even if Dr. Solis has no last minute availability, one of the nurse practitioners is usually available, and they are great too. Our insurance changed this year, and even though it will cost a little bit more to see Dr. Solis, me and my son will continue to see her.

I have been going to Winters Family Practice since 1980. I have not had any conflicts nor problems with the attention I have received. I can say the same for my husband who has been seen there since 1995. We are pleased to tell anyone about the staff and the doctors and the caring way they handle us each time. After 5 years of being in Florida we finally had an occasion not once but twice this summer and were treated like long lost loving relatives. That makes us feel so comfotable and we know well get superb care from whoever we see.

I remember the first Dr. I saw was Dr.Winter Senior, a great Dr. I love this office is a great environment, clean, I have not to wait long time, the staff are very helpful. I regularly see Dr. Winter Jr. and Applehoff. They all ways listening my concern and look for ways to help me, both are very patient, kind, compassion and caring. The best clinic I have ever set foot in. Service elite, staff the finest ever, and they pay attention to your concerns and solve the issues. The doctors go that extra mile, nurses make you feel at ease and the ladies at the desk get your meds right. I have recommended them to my friends and will continue to do so. I have never seen a patient complain about anything when leaving the building. They are the setting the bar really high and the patient wins

Today on my daughters 20th birthday; I think of the more than 20 years that Winters family practice has been there for our four children as me as an adult patient, and am full of gratitude. Not only do they take care of us physically and w/ great bedside manner, they also take care to be prompt with the financial end of being a family practice (no small matter given all the rules and changing insurance regs). They are a local treasure.

My husband and I have been patients of Winters Family Practice for several years and are very happy with the care and service they provide. We do not have to wait long for an appointment when ill, one of the physicians usually can accommodate us if ours cannot. This is a great comfort. The staff is courteous and friendly and the physicians are too. They are thorough and patient friendly and warm. We are happy to be their patients.
