Ive been a patient with Khanna Dentistry since I moved to the area 12 years ago. Since that time I can say that I have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Khanna and all of his staff. They are professional, friendly, and courteous every time I am in the office and are always doing everything they can to make sure I have a positive experience. Recently, I had to have my last two impacted wisdom teeth removed and chose to have Dr. Khanna and his staff complete the procedure. Before deciding to go ahead with the oral surgery through Dr. Khanna, I had several concerns that had caused me to put off having them removed for years due to previous negative experiences in having my other two impacted wisdom teeth removed in a different state and with a non-affiliated oral surgeon. I had a lot of anxiety and worry about the procedure due to my previous experiences and was putting the procedure off until I wasnt able to handle the discomfort anymore. When finally choosing to go ahead with the procedure, I was able to meet with Dr. Khanna for a consultation where he explained the procedure and answered every question that I had to make sure that I was well informed and comfortable about completing the procedure. He also addressed my anxiety and worry over completing the procedure and we discussed options for addressing those feelings, which ended up including one dose of prescription medication for the anxiety which I was to take before I came to the office, nitrogenous oxide once I was seated to help calm me down, and since I was sensitive about receiving my IV sedation in my elbow area, he agreed to put the IV in my hand instead. Amanda also held my hand as they began the preparations and helped calm me down as I was getting anxious. As soon as I walked into the office, Dr. Khanna and his staff made sure to move at my pace while always keeping my comfort and anxiety level in mind. After the procedure was completed and during the recovery process, Dr. Khanna and his staff made themselves available to me 24/7 if I needed to contact them, which I ended up doing late one evening due to some large amounts of swelling I experienced. They were very knowledgeable and reassuring through the whole process and really strove to make sure I felt comfortable in each stage of the procedure, both pre-surgery and post-surgery. At the follow up appointment to remove my stitches, Dr. Khanna and his staff made sure I was comfortable and allowed me to move at my own pace during the removal process as I had never had stitches that had to be removed before and was unsure of what to expect. They also addressed a few follow up questions I had for some swelling and jaw stiffness that I was still experiencing and discussed options for appropriate treatment. Overall, I had an amazing experience with Dr. Khanna and his staff during this whole process, especially due to the unique circumstances that I presented to them. They treated me with respect and didnt make me feel as though I was overreacting or just needed to "suck it up" as I have experienced before in other unrelated aspects of medical care at non-affiliated medical facilities. I would highly recommend Khanna Dentistry to everyone I know that needs to have dental work completed, but especially to people who have not had positive experiences at a dentist before or who experience anxiety and emotional discomfort at the thought of having dental work completed. Dr. Khanna and his staff will treat you with the utmost respect and will make sure to treat all aspects of you dental health, with the goal of complete dental health in mind. And for those who like to be distracted while the dental procedure is being completed, they offer warm scented neck-wraps, movies, and headphones too!

About two years ago, I was developing craters in my molars which ended up with several chipped teeth. My old fillings were also loosening and new fillings didnt stay on for more than 3 months. My dentist of 15 years did nothing more than refilling.... and refilling .... and telling me that it comes with age and teeth grinding in sleep. Out of sheer frustration I switched to Dr. Khanna. During my first visit, I had more apprehension than high expectation of ever restoring my dental health. Little did I know how glad I would be that I switched...... Dr. Khanna not only diagnosed the rootcause of craters, chipped teeth, and falling fillings, but also outlined and discussed in detail a comprehensive corrective plan for complete restoration my deteriorating teeth: correct the rootcause with occlusal adjustment to realign the teeth and jaw; cap chipped teeth; replace loose fillings; and fit a custom night-guard to hold the alignment and to prevent damage from teeth grinding. Appointments in quick succession followed till full restoration to PERFECTION. Now my teeth rows seat perfectly, no more cratering, chipping, or loose fillings in the last two years. I now visit him every 6 months only for routine dental cleaning and oral examination. His staff, led by his assistant Amanda, are professional, supportive, and caring. I am a grateful beneficiary of his professional dentistry skills, performed to esthetic perfection with the patience and artistry of a jewelsmith. I would be remiss if I dont express my true feelings: I am so glad I switched from a carpenter to a jewelsmith. CK

I have only been to Dr. Khanna twice so far, but I must say that both appointments are by far the most satisfactory dental appointments Ive had in my life. During the first appointment, Dr. Khanna meets with you and explains how there is much more to dental hygiene than just cleaning. He examines your jaw, your bite, and your gum line. X-rays as well as individual HD photos of each individual tooth are taken. It was the most thorough checkup I had ever been through. After the initial appointment is completed you are requested to come back for a cleaning and followup consultation. Sue cleaned my teeth on my follow up appointment and she was wonderful. So friendly and kind. She did a very thorough job of cleaning and even utilized ultrasonic water cleaning that made the cleaning very comfortable. Sue then finished the appointment by looking at defects at each individual tooth using a "cavity Doppler" that color coded any defects my teeth had. After this second appointment I was again taken into a consulting room with Dr. Khanna and he went over all of the x-rays, scans, photos from the prior first appointment as well as the new "cavity Doppler" scans that Sue had taken. He slowly went through a treatment plan with me that would benefit me long term. Overall I couldnt be happier with the service and work that this practice does. I would recommend this practice in a heartbeat to any person that would ask for a dentist in the Tri-Cities area.

One of the most common cliches is the fear of the dentist. Be it comically leveraged in a sitcom or cartoon, or nervously recited by an anxious patient, this idea of going to the dentist being an unpleasant experience is constantly repeated. This idea has always been completely incomprehensible to me since I was a young child, thanks to the considerate staff at Khanna Dentistry. No matter what age, young or old, they take great care in making sure that procedures are as comfortable as possible, be it screening Pokemon movies for a child during a particularly rigorous procedure or simply asking "how are you feeling" periodically during a routine cleaning. As for the procedures themselves, they are meticulous and thorough, informing their clients immediately of any sign of a problem, which, admittedly, was often the case with me due to lackluster daily brushing (but Im doing my best to improve!). See, it isnt merely competence that makes Khanna Dentistry great. Its this sincerity and respect towards the patient and their overall comfort and health that makes these encounters pleasant rather than uncomfortable. They are also great at referring practitioners of other procedures outside of their specialty who share their philosophy, and as a result, Ive had similarly great experiences in orthodontics and oral surgery. If you are in the Illinois suburbs and are looking for a dentist, I strongly recommend Khanna Dentistry.
