Worst billing department ever. I went to the hospital in labor in July of 2010 because thats where my midwives deliver. Was sent home, a 30 min. drive in good traffic, after being told I wasnt in labor. I went to a much closer hospital via ambulance and had my baby 10 minutes after being wheeled in. We received our bill for our hours of monitoring and hall walking at West Sub. in October. I was billed for painkillers and other birth related expenses that were never incurred because I didnt deliver there. We called and they sent the bill to audit. In December we received a call and letter from a collections agency. West Sub. billing had never sent the bill to audit and put it in collections. We called the billing department number which "wasnt in service" for several days, then I called the front desk who gave me a different number. That numbers was just a voice mail and pointed me to yet another number who took over a month to answer the messages I had to leave because they didnt pick up their phones during their listed office hours. They again said theyd send it to audit. Two months later I received a call threatening to send my account to collections. Turns out they did it again and did not send it to audit. It is now December 2011 and we still have not closed this matter. Never have I had such a horrible problem with a billing department. I love my midwives but refuse to set foot in that hospital again in fear of another 1 and one half billing drama.

DONT Take ANY on You Truly Love HERE!!! Worst ER Ive ever seen! I have never took time out to write a review on a hospital but I Really hope & wish someone that is of power.. step in and Really do something about this place, its HORRIBLE. I always drive the extra miles to take my family to RUSH or Childrens Memorial (Lurie) because I know theyll be well cared for at those hospitals. West Suburban ER dont care about treating their patients. You can clearly tell they dont want to be there (which Unprofessional). Everyone is there for a pay check or credits they need for class! No empathy, No compassion, Longest Wait Time then any other hospital. They Leave patients in Dire need in rooms UNATTENDED for Very Long periods of time. Which is Dangerous!! Most of the staff are Rude and so is their Upper management which is why the staff dont feel "Bed Side Manner" is important here. They dont test you properly. They treat most cases the same which is; give you pain pills and send you home; which is Not treating or resolving the medical issue.

One thing I do not like at all: Phoning the main number and being told to press 1 for English. Otherwise so far its been great. My 82-year-old mother has been at West Sub for three weeks. So far my opinion and hers are both very favorable. Clearly the care she is receiving is competent and successful for her medical need. Between doctors, nurses and others she has had contact with 15-20 people and regards them all as very kind. I see no reason to disagree. My observation is a 50/50 or maybe 60/40 mix of black/white (no Hispanics so far, unexpectedly), but my sense is that everybody is there for business and people arent concerned with race. I wish all the USA were that way. Mom did not come through the emergency room. Mom was a direct admit. The referral was goofed up (not West Subs fault) but once that was worked out they brought her in like she was a visiting dignitary. Parking is safe and free on the Oak Park side of Austin Blvd. Parking is free but less safe on the Chicago side .

Worst service/experience ever. Id rate it a negative if I could. My mom got surgery here recently. She said the staff and nurses were very loud. She heard "Clanking" sound of glasses as if they were drinking at night. She had to use a bed pan to go to the bathroom, and the nurses left her waste in her room for DAYS. She said the room was stinking and not clean at all. None one came to clean it. They took hours to get her medicine to her, and there was an incident where another patient walked into my mothers room and inappropriately suggested for her to have sex with him! Where were the nurses and security guards? I am so angry, disgusted, and horrified. ESPECIALLY since my family and I had to drive two hours into the city from the suburbs for this nonsense. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE.

Every time Ive ever had surgery (2x) or delivered a baby (2x) Ive always had the best experience at West Sub. Everyone from the nurses to front desk staff to the doctors and midwives, all have been exceptional. I also love the fact that this is not a teaching hospital which means there arent tons of people passing through your room or students working on you. Its also a very serene calm environment not at all high pressure high stress. I love this hospital. When I went for both surgeries the nurses were so sweet and happy, and funny. They made me feel so comfortable especially since for one of the surgeries I had to be alone going into it. Thank you West Sub Medical Center!

This is simply not where you want to go for yourself or someone you care about. The Resident Doctors are very shady in ICU. They override the primary doctors rules as if they are gods and are like vultures to stick some unneeded or overdosed drugs in to you. They simply can not be trusted at all. Resident TingTing is a definite, absolutely must stay away from of a jerk. She is not qualified to help an animal with her rude bedside manners, ignorance, and arrogance. She wants to rule the world and cant figure out whats going on in her own head. DON"T ALLOW THIS PERSON AROUND YOU OR ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT.....DANGER!!!!!!!!

ER doctor was condescending and made me feel like I wasted his time or tried to get treatment I didn’t need. Before seeing him, I passed by him in corridor. He was boasting about his snowboarding adventures. I got the impression, he was just there to punch the clock. The male nurse had a better bedside manner than the doctor. While waiting in the room, I’ve heard a wide ranging commentary on current and historical events coming from nurses’ station. They were not shy about it. As I’m lying on the bed in an emergency room, registering nurse comes in and asks me for a co pay. Seriously? No professionalism.

My dad is in ICU currently as we speak. They are working diligently on him and they are working hard. the nurses and dr.s are excellent. they dont mind answering any questions and are always keeping us informed. I Thank them dearly from the bottom of my heart. I think the only problem that i could say would be the furniture in the ICU is out dated and uncomfortable for families that dont want to leave their love ones. If anyone reading can afford to donate furniture pillows or blankets, I think that would be very helpful.

I spent three days in this hospital and it was a pleasant experience besides me being sick. The hospital is lacking in cleanliness and food is not tasty either. However, the most important part I give thumbs up and that is the doctors and nurses that took care of me. They were caring, knowledgeable and tried to make sure I understood what and why they were doing. I really appreciated their service. Taking care of people when they are sick, is not a easy thing to do.
