Dr Dick is a complete crook and I had a horrible experience with him. This incident happened several years ago and I still feel compelled to write about it. I went to Dr. Dick as he was a VSP recommended doctor at that time. He gave me the exam and I picked up the frames. He told me how much my out of pocket was going to be and he told me that I needed to put 50% down. I was a new college grad and naive at that time, I put the entire 100% on my credit card. This was on a Saturday. He told me that my order was going to go out Monday morning. I was at Sams Club that evening and the the exact frame and a better lens package was running about 50% than what the good doctor was charging me, (after the VSP discount). Dr. Dicks price on the lens and frame package was outrageous. The sams Club doctor looked at my eye exam results and told me that I did not need glasses, my presciption did not require it. I called Dr, Dick first thing Monday and asked him if he had sent my order. He told me that he was about to. I told him to cancel my order. He absolutely refused to cancel my order as he had 100% of my money. He told me that I had made the purchase and he was not going to reverse it and he would send the order through. I even went to meet him that evening to reason with him. Dr. Dick became extremely combative and behaved like a total bully. He figured he could push me around. I finally told him that I do not want the glasses and I would not pick them, it had now become a matter of principle. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Dr Dick left me threatening messages telling me that he would donate my glasses to charity if I did not pick them up. I ignored all his calls and messages. He even lied to my credit card company telling them that I had signed a form that said "no refunds." I had signed no such form. The credit card company told him to produce that form and since he could not, they reversed the charge in my favor. Needless to say I have a horrible experience with Dr Dick and his crooked techniques. I finally came out on top - thanks to meticulous note taking and Keeping a paper trail with my credit card company. Since that incident I have referred to him as Dr. Dick as the name fit perfectly. Another google user had mentioned that he is pricey and works on a payment plan. Of course he would, as his prices are outrageous.

1/12/17 I became a new patient of Dr. Alexanders. Im relatively new to the North suburbs and picked him based on location to my home and other reviews. I must say I have a great taste. Hes very personable, explained everything to me thoroughly, and helped me learn more about my vision insurance than I ever knew. Jan aka "mom" is wonderful. She helped me pick out a pair glasses I never wouldve picked for myself and Im so anxious to get them. I would highly recommend Dr. Alexander for your vision needs. Thanks to him and his staff for a wonderful experience.

I went to Dr. Alexander after being misdiagnosed by a nurse practitioner. She thought I had pink eye, but the problem was far worse. Dr. Alexander immediately recognized my symptoms and was able to give me almost instant relief (which I had been seeking for ten days at that point). The office is very professional and organized and the staff is very courageous and friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Alexander to anyone with ANY optical concern or need (glasses, contacts, etc) as he so greatly exceeded my expectations. 5 stars!

He was also very thorough, and took the time to explain all the tests to you. I will be back to Dr. Richard for all my future eye care needs. Went in to Stanton Optical where Dr. Richard Alaxander was filling in for the day, and had a very pleasant experience. He was very attentive, and explained everything to me. My insurance said he was out of network, however, he made it worth my time. I would definitely make him my permanent optometrist if his office was in the Peoria IL area.

Hes very professional and personalable. His rates are better than at a place like lens crafter etc. He explains things at a level you can understand. he offers a vaiety of different types of glasses and contact lenses and also does laser surgery.
