Ive been a happy customer of Illini Eye Care for almost 10 years now. I go regularly for my exam and contact lens fitting, and also have taken my kids there (from the youngest ages). Dr. Sanders is a gem, and her office is organized and professional. Among other things that make them stand out for me: -- a great selection of stylish frames. (Im sure it helps to be on campus, with many customers who are students from other countries.) -- a true commitment to making sure contact lens wearers keep their eyes healthy. Dr. Sanders convinced me to switch to a better lens solution and to throw away a lens case I had kept for 10+ years. -- an understanding that if you are cleaning and disinfecting contacts properly, you can safely keep wearing a pair indefinitely. Some pairs last a month, some last 6 months. -- a relaxed attitude about customers buying low-cost glasses online. They happily give out the whole prescription, including pupil distance, and if you ask nicely, they will check the glasses you purchase for accuracy, or adjust the frames, at no charge.

Professional treatment from staff and the doctor. Just a very ignorant establishment. The doctor acted as if hes never seen someone with an Asian name whos from the States. The casual conversation during the eye exam started out like "Here in the US eye exams work this way blah blah blah", and the doctor just couldnt stop bringing up his stereotypical judgements the entire time. I felt annoyed but was just too cool to give a damn. Overall its fine, but I would take somewhere else over it just for a better day.

I dont know any business who would charge $110.00 for a contact exam. I went to lenscrafters and got it done for $50.00. Fees are ridiculous and I dont know how they stay in business. People must not shop around.
