This was the worst experience I have ever had with a vet. The vet was rude and impatient. I have a very nervous cat and she did NOTHING to help soothe her. Unless, you consider aggressively covering her with a towel soothing. I tried to hold my cat, Theta, as she gave her shots. The vet tech then aggressively grabbed the back of my cats neck, not exactly soothing. My cat then peed on my lap out of fear. I mentioned this and the vet rudely said, "there is nothing I can do about that." Which, I am aware of and only said that to make YOU aware that you man-handling my cat is NOT soothing her. My cat then ran to the corner of the room, when I tried to pick her up, she was so scared that she bit me. Again, I am okay with her biting me, as long as its not a member of the staff. The vet then rudely told me that I needed to go get first aid immediately, which is fine. What I did NOT appreciate was hearing your staff shoving her into her kennel, I walked away hysterically crying because I could hear the screams of my cat. I will NEVER be returning to your clinic. My cat and I are still traumatized about this. I can never get her screams out of my head. She has barely moved from the bed since I got her home. I am so upset and will encourage everyone I know and love to NEVER bring their fur babies to your clinic. The only bright spot was your employee, Ashley, taking the time to console me. She seemed to be the only person to show any sort of compassion.

I am trying to get the word out to as many people as possible, so that no one else has to go through a similar experience should you choose to use this vet. 3 weeks ago, we had to make the extremely difficult decision to euthanize our 15 year old beloved jack russell, whose organs suddenly began failing and was in misery. 3 different office staff, including Dr Flanders himself said we would receive a ceramic paw print as a memento of our dog via mail. One of the administrative staff also went into detail with how it would be painted and decorated for us.We were sure to clearly express that we wanted this paw print so there was no confusion on our wishes. However, after waiting 3 weeks and not receiving the print, my husband called the vet to see when to expect arrival. He was told that no paw print was ever taken and that our dog had been cremated and ashes sent to Ft. Wayne....oh, but they were "very sorry." This is an act of gross negligence on account of the staff at VIP. There is no way to rectify this situation, and we are simply at a loss of having the ONE piece of memory of our beloved dog. PLEASE, make sure you double, triple check with the staff if you ever decide to take an animal here. The staff is highly unorganized and have a lack of empathy for those going through the grieving process. It honestly makes me wonder what they really did with my dogs body, and I regret ever stepping foot into this office.

Not sure why people are allowed to post bad reviews with little details, I blame ignorance, for example, putting a bad review because a vet held a cat by grabbing the excess skin on the back of their neck, ignorant. As kittens that is how their mom would pick them up, and instinctually when picked up by that skin it can usually calm them by showing dominance and prevent injury, should the cat lash out. Even the sweetest cats can bite or claw when the vet is doing something the cat doesnt like. Anyway, on to my review. I would like to start from about 5 years ago; when our 9 year old white boxers health started to deteriorate, after visiting two other vets, we decided to bring him to VIP, we had visited VIP recently to get our 1 year old Great Dane mix caught up on her shots. What we liked, was the low cost for shots and the quality of care given, in all honesty the quality of service was equal to the vets we had been before. Granted the curb appeal "how nice the place was" wasnt even close to that of the other newer vet offices; however, I dont take my animals to the vet for the decor. Besides, dogs are color blind, they dont know the difference.

We have been taking our dogs, cats and bunny to VIP for years now...Id say since probably 2005-ish. What I tell everyone when recommending Dr. Flanders and his staff (which I do often) is that you dont have to be afraid to take your pet here. The Doc is very realistic, and doesnt try to push hundreds of dollars worth of tests on you, or make you feel guilty about what course of action you choose. I think this is very important, because I know the anxiety of how much it may cost can sometimes postpone getting a pet to the vet. Additionally, the staff has always been very accommodating, and have been very kind-hearted when we have lost a pet.

I have been taking my dog here for a while now, but when I called Dr Flanders was out of town (probably taking a much needed vacation) so I had to take him somewhere else for the time being. The other vet couldnt seem to fix his problem (analysis glands) I went back twice and they ended up wanting to do surgery! I didnt have a very good feeling about so I took him back to VIP and Dr Flanders said surgery was not necessary ( which I had suspected ) he expressed them, gave him a shot of cortisone, and did laser therapy! All for a lot less than the other. My dog is feeling much better, I will never go anywhere else.

Absolutely worst clinic ever! The vet had NO bedside manner, was extremely unsympathetic that we were putting down part of our family, and even exclaimed, "Welp, thats done!" before he was out the door completely... all in front of the children. The office was disgusting, just filthy, and the scented candles we were forced to inhale, overpowering. The staff we came in contact with were not in tune with their job nor could they answer simple questions. They were demeaning and the vet accusatory as if we dont have a choice where we take our loved ones for care. NEVER AGAIN!

Very rude staff. Receptionist gave me a look of disgust while I was standing in line waiting before asking me what I needed. The nail trim my dog received is AWFUL. Part of his nail is hanging loose and will easily be caught on something. I didnt even know the visit was done when they left because the vet didnt say another word to me after she left the room. I also didnt know my dog was receiving two vaccinations (I only went for the rabies shot) and they did it without even mentioning it to me. It was an awful experience. I will definitely be looking for a different vet soon.

Dr. Flanders and his staff are great people. A couple years ago we had to put down our beloved. She had stomach cancer of some kind. We treaded her symptoms for months and gave her the best quality of life we could. Dr. Flanders made himself available on several occasions when she needed Ive fluids suddenly. He was very realistic about prognosis and affordable. He doesnt sugar coat anything and isnt interested in gouging you. His bedside manner may not be what some people expect but if you want but he gets the job done and isnt heartless.
