I cant brag enough about how amazing Aspen was for me. From start to Finnish the experience was unlike any other. When I called to schedule the appointment, the lady on the phone was both kind and professional, and actually put me at ease about the visit. Due to a few bad experiences at Dentists, I have a serious phobia of them. I am so terrified of dentists I had put off an extraction for over two years. When I arrived early to fill out paperwork, the receptionist greeted me with a very genuine smile and gave me some paperwork. I didnt wait very long before they called me back for my FREE x-rays and exam. The lady who took my x-ray was also very kind and professional. In my experience X-rays can vary from uncomfortable to downright painful, but this lady did a wonderful job so I never even felt the slightest twinge of discomfort. Next I was sent to a small area for my exam. Before the exam even started, the hygienist spent a good twenty minutes explaining exactly what she would be doing, what she was looking for and answering my questions. She never got impatient and she really made me feel comfortable and confident in her. After the hygienist, the doctor came over in her lab coat and checked out my x-rays. She was also very kind and professional, explaining everything and answering questions. After everything was said and done, I was sent to the office manager. Now everyone I dealt with up until now was awesome, but Becky was my favorite. She listened to my fears and explained how everything would work. She gave me lots of good advice and just came across as so genuine. She took my payment for the extraction, explaining that they were not sure if the extraction would be surgical or not. They charged me for the most expensive procedure and told me that if ended up not being surgical, they would refund the difference. I honestly thought they were full of it. After getting a totally free x-ray and exam I was sure there was no way they would refund any money, but the cost was very low, so I just let it go. A few days later I came back for the extraction. The same lady who took my xrays came in and numbed my gums, and then the doc in the lab coat gave me the shots to numb my mouth. The doctor who actually pulled the tooth was just as wonderful as everyone else I had encountered. I can honestly say that I never felt even a twinge of pain. He even let my fiancee stay in the room and hold my hand. After the procedure the ladies I had dealt with initally all came to check on me and wish me a speedy recovery, and amazingly, since they didnt have to do any surgery, I really did get most of my payment back. I cant say enough times how amazing everyone was. Im not an easy patient to deal with between my phobias and the condition of my teeth. Ive had a ton of bad experiences with dentists and Ive always left feeling bad about myself.and judged. I know the difference between a fake smile and genuine kindness. Every person I dealt with was GENUINE and I left for the first time in my life, feeling better, hopeful even. If you are like me and embarassed about your teeth or afraid of dentists or both, PLEASE give these people a try, I promise you wont regret it. I will never go anywhere but Aspen now!

A couple things listed: My daughter worked as a dental assistant for about 4 years so she knows the ends and outs of dental "rules" she was also Hipaa trained by the state of Washington. #1:At my first appointment the dentist recommened doing the advance cleaning because I was at a "2". When I told my daughter this she said that I did not need to have the advance cleaning because 95% of the population is at a 2 and that a normal cleaning would be fine. Now this cleaning was going to cost me over $200 because my insurance wont cover it. Anyway I asked to cancel this appointment and to schedule a regular cleaning. I was told that this could not be done because they cant go "down" on a cleaning. Is this Aspen Dentals policy and/or is this someone trying to make money? #2: When I went to the Aspen Dental Office this morning April 6, 2009 I saw my name and cell phone number written on a large note pad by the phone. There was also at least one other persons name and number on it as well. This paper was able to be viewed by ANYONE going up to the front desk which you had to do when you first came into the building. This information was given to a clerk on April 3, 2009 at 11:59 am. I mentioned this Hipaa violation and the paper was thrown away. #3: Is it normal to call the emergency dental number for help with pain only to get a return call 7 1/2 hours later? Thank God that the call was returned by a ******* out of Troy, Ohio (at lease that is what I thought he said). He listen to my concerns and put me on antibiotics right away. #4: Someone else wrote on here how they had teeth pulled and wasnt completely numb. Ditto here. I even complained to dentist and he acted like it was a bother to stop and give me more shots. Which wasnt enough so the tooth was pulled in pain. #5: Thanks for reading these issues. I am still in pain from a tooth extraction on the 31st of March. Saw my new (more than likely now old) dentist yesterday morning and he said everything is healing and looking good he didnt see any signs of a dry socket on the x-ray (<~~~found out later you cant see those on x-rays!). Cant explain pain. I wish I knew the answer because I would fix this exposed root feel! Doesnt seem normal for 8 days of pain. Hopefully tomorrow the pain will be gone since the antibiotics will have been in my system for 72+ hours. NOTE: Do a web complaint search on Aspen Dental. You will find more complaints about the Richmond office along with other Aspen Dentals in the US. What is weird is that the complaints all seems to be the same.

I went to Aspen Dental in Richmond, IN last week, after having been told by another Richmond dentist that I needed 5 crowns, 3 bridges, and a root canal, which would have been around $10,000. My husband had been telling me to go get another opinion. I was not having any pain but decided to go to Aspen after watching some very positive TV commercials about their service and the way they treat their patients. I received x-rays and a thorough examination and dreaded hearing what they thought needed to be done. The dentist was SO NICE!!! The bottom line was that all I needed done was a cleaning and to have one filling replaced. I sat there in shock, expecting to hear the same thing the other dentist in Richmond had told me. But this nice young dentist was so honest and so compassionate, and I felt I could really trust him. EVERYONE, from the receptionist at the front desk, the X-ray technician, the hygienist, the dentist, and the office manager, was so very kind to me. They all put my fears to rest and helped me to relax. I then went this morning to have my teeth cleaned. Again, I was greeted with kindness and professionalism, and received a very thorough cleaning of my teeth by a friendly and very efficient hygienist. I cannot say enough good things about the Richmond, IN Aspen Dental Office and everyone who works there. I have read some of the negative reviews on this website, and, for the life of me, I dont understand where those people came from! Did they go to the same Aspen Dental that I did? My experience was nothing but positive, and I was thrilled to find a dental team who cared enough to tell me the truth and treat me with such kindness and compassion and RESPECT! KUDOS to Richmond, IN Aspen Dental team! You get an A+ in my books!!! I would tell anyone to come to you! You all are GRRRRRRREAT!!
