I am surprised that I am only the 2nd person to give Layfield a review on Google. I moved to the area and had 3 cats that needed shots and veterinary care for various GI issues and they even consulted on behavioral issues during my appointments. Prices are extremely fair, especially for a smaller vet practice. I dealt with Dr. Whalen mostly and she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and has a way with animals. She was able to give my very "touchy" cat a shot without him even flinching a couple times when Ive seen him try to rip another vets face off before for the same thing. What else could you ask for from your vet? Dr. Giza saw one of my cats once and she was great, too. Never met a vet tech that I didnt like. I moved away from the area, but I wish I could have brought the Layfield Vet practice with me. I mostly went to the Pocomoke location. Their new office is a big improvement from the old one!

There are some very knowledgeable and caring vets at this practice. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I feel it is worth it due to the generally great job they do. I was a little put off by a recent development where I was charged extra when I needed to bring my dog in the same day due to a possible back issue. I was charged extra for a "work in" appointment, even though it was for late in the afternoon and I had called in the morning. From past experience, I know that immediate treatment for back issues can make the difference as to whether the dog ever walks again. I personally do not think any client should be charged extra for bringing in a pet during regular office hours that needs to be seen ASAP. I would have given a rating of 5 stars if they didnt charge extra for urgent visits during regular office hours.

I have used Layfield Vet for small and large animals for years. They are wonderful!! I found them when I had just moved horses here from Ark. I had 1 down. Just went thru the book calling all large animal vets. A couple I never heard from. 1 called many hours later. When I called Layfield, whoever answered the phone called Dr Darryl Insley (who was out doing farm calls). She kept me on the phone and he asked me questions thru her. He had me out there feeling feet, looking at eyes, trying to get him up.... They did what they could to help at that moment. For free, I might add. I was impressed. Over the years they have healed and euthanized many animals for me. Always really caring.

We love this place, the Vets, the staff and their official greeter, a cat named Joe. Besides the routine vetting, we took our senor German Shepherd Girl for acupuncture to help with her arthritis. It seemed to help her tremendously. They all are very competent, professional and pleasant folks. Our two German Shepherds look forward to going there... thinking they are going for a Party. Highly recommend this place.

Customer service along with the best pet care around. I have been to local Vets before coming here and there really is no comparison. Even if I have to drive an extra 20 minutes to get the best care for my pet. If you have horses or small pets, you will be welcomed with open arms from staff at Layfield Vet Services. Joel Maher

They are absolutely wonderful with animals. They are excellent at getting you in for urgent care, the veterinarians are all caring, and their service charges are good. They even send you mailers to remind you of upcoming items for your pets.
