Mr. Stu Parsons I have been researching your claims with my staff and your negative Google review of our practice. You board your dogs with us on occasion, including last weekend. You were scheduled to pick your dogs up Monday evening. When we contacted you early Monday afternoon to make arrangements with you to get your dogs, you told my staff that you were delayed and would not arrive before we closed (which was 30 minutes earlier than normal closing time). Despite closing early, my staff members offered to stay later on Monday to accommodate you picking up your dogs, which you turned down, saying you would pick them up Tuesday instead. On Tuesday we had 4 inches of snow/ice on the ground, so my staff members were slightly delayed in opening the center. However, they were there from 8:30-10:30am, and called you several times to arrange to pick up your dogs. You never answered your phone - our only method to reach you. My staff finally reached you on Tuesday afternoon when they returned for care rounds, and you picked up your pets Tuesday evening. Your complaint is that you should not need to pay us for the additional day of boarding because the vet hospital was closed for appointments. We still incur operating costs when your pets are with us, regardless of whether the center is open for appointments. Our staff still cares for your pets, in this case, traveling in the ice and snow to do so. By analogy, we are also closed for appointments 3 Saturdays a month and every Sunday. You have paid to board your dogs with us on those days, presumably with the understanding that we still incur operating costs and care for your pets when the center is "closed." I think weve established that we tried our best to accommodate you, especially under the circumstances. To Mystifyd01, Your kitty was diagnosed with a fatal untreatable condition. You subsequently called many times to ask our staff questions. Each time you called, you were informed that we needed to examine Patches to offer the best palliative care possible, based on his current physical condition and findings. There is no treatment for the condition he had. There is only supportive care such as fluid therapy, pain meds, or humane euthanasia. You never scheduled any follow up exams. We cannot help you if you will not bring the pet to us. That is your responsibility as the pet owner.

At first, they seemed great. Really into alternative medicines, anything it took to make my pet feel better and more comfortable. It turned out that my cat had the coronal virus and was dying. Not their fault, obviously. Getting the information was like pulling teeth as they were always too busy to call me and tell me what was going on. That wasnt really was turned me off, though. At the end, when my beautiful Patch was getting really sick, I called THREE times trying to get a vet to call me and talk about what I should do next. The people answering the phone kept telling me that I should bring my poor baby in, but I wanted to talk to a Vet first. If they thought they could do something for him, then sure, I would bring him in. If not, why subject him to the stress and fear associated with the trip. I was desperate and they told me someone would call me back. At the very least I just wanted to know if there was anything I could do to make him more comfortable so that he could pass away at home in peace, not in fear from being taken to a clinic to be euthanized. NO ONE EVER DID. Two weeks later, Patch was gone. Not their fault that he was sick. They couldnt save him. However, I will NEVER forgive them for NEVER calling me back. I really needed to talk to a professional, but apparently there arent any at this clinic. Its been a month and I am still so heartbroken and its exacerbated by the complete lack of compassion of this clinic. They keep e-mailing me to bring our other cat in for a check up and anger at their total insensitivity flares each time. Dont take your pet here if you truly love him/her and they are an integral part of your family.

I first came into the Cooke Veterinary clinic a year & half ago with a very sick cat. Dr. Mosely diagnosed her with acute renal failure, something another area vet had missed because he insisted she didnt need blood work (she was 14 yrs old). Over the course of several months, Dr. Mosely, Dr. Cooke & their wonderful staff helped me care for my beloved pet, giving her the most comfortable end of life possible. When it came time to let her go, each member of the staff that was on duty that day said their goodbyes to her as well. In all my years as a pet owner, I have never seen a staff so dedicated & caring. The doctors are very thorough & take the time to explain diagnosis, prognosis, treatments & scenarios. They answer questions clearly & take the time to listen to concerns. The staff knows my pets by name & knows their personalities as well. I now have 2 cats & 1 dog & couldnt imagine having any other clinic care for them. The education they provide to me as a pet owner shows that they value preventative care over pushing pills. That they offer both Eastern & Western care plans shows that they are willing to examine every possible treatment option to help your pet in the least stressful manner. I will continue to recommend this clinic to any pet owner.

Today simply sucked. My 11 year old Golden got really sick last night and after fighting and praying all night I knew his time was done. Of course there is always something else. I also had a work commitment and needed to be at a conference all day on top of all this. With tears in my eyes I called Dr Cookes office at 8:00 and the response I received was simply profound. They bent over backward to help me and changed their scheduled appointments to fit me in, told me to expedite and at 8:20 I was in the office with a catatonic 97 lb Golden. They brought me in, no bureaucratic Brava Serea (BS) and evaluated him and administering meds for comfort at 8:25. After doing ultrasounds, breath sounds and a more detailed evaluation , Thud had a seizure and the decision was made, it was time. They placed blankets under his head, administered the euthanasia cocktail. Moments later Thud was a rest. They were professional, compassionate, knowledgeable and treated me like they understood the agony I was experiencing. Then they all gave me a hug and that is above and beyond being simply a vets office. They are simply good people on top of being professionals. Thank you!! V/r Bob

I am thrilled to have found Cooke Veterinary. Jackson, my chocolate lab, and I had our first appointment yesterday, and from the moment I walked in I knew that this would be our new favorite place. The entire staff goes above and beyond with their care. They made Jackson and I feel totally at home and showered my best friend with so much love. Dr. Cooke spent well over an hour with us, listening attentively to all my concerns. 8 minutes is all I have ever received from other vets. During Jacksons acupuncture treatment, the vet tech sat on the floor and helped Jackson feel safe the entire time. I am so happy to report that Jacksons ailments (which he has had for 3 years) have almost completely resolved themselves in the 24 hours since his treatment. We have found a safe haven, Dr. Cooke is brilliant and treats the entire animal (body, mind, spirit). We are lucky to have her in the area. Thank you, thank you, thank you
