Before we had vision insurance we could turn a portion of the exam into our health insurance because she is an MD. As for lenses they were cheaper than the other place we tried. Not as cheap as the discount eye wear places, but not the same service either. She also seems to keep slots open for emergencies, I have gotten same day appointments when Ive had eye injuries, I once had a 5mm scratch on my cornea, I saw her every day for 4 days watching as it healed (health insurance paid except for my copay).

Wonderful staff. Dr. DenHartog was thorough and has a holistic approach to eye care. She is very knowledgeable and down to earth. Ive had contact issues for 2+ years and with her as my doctor I have a lot of hope in the solutions we are trying! So yes- shes willing to try different things to find the solution that works best for each person and is in it for the long run. Downtown Eye Care are conscious of budgets and try very hard to work within them for patients. Only good things to say.

The nurses and Dr. Evans always are so professional. My visits always make me feel I know more about my eyes and health as I leave. This gives me comfort as Im growing older and many things are going on in my health. Thank you for that peace of mind. Tom Murphy

If you dont have insurance, be wary of getting an eye exam here. An eye exam alone costs $195. In addition to this, to replace my glasses lenses (not the frames) cost $240. Other than being expensive, the business seemed alright.

My new eye doctor! Friendly receptionists and staff, futuristic exam room. Not a big selection in frames, though.
