I have been using Banfield since my puppies have been 2 months old. I have grown accustomed to the friendly service and amazing atmosphere of my Connecticut branch. Then when my job relocated us here, quite naturally one of the first places to visit was Banfield to get them a check-up. I have had three separate interactions with the reception desk. All were HORRIBLE. The first interaction should have been a clear indication that I should find another branch. Upon speaking with them I was told that their was an outstanding balance owed and I needed to pay that. So I explained that I had two dogs on the plan and that was fine. So low and behold I scheduled my appointment and when I returned was told there was a larger balance owed for the dog the appointment was for. And that she could not be seen. Ok. So I paid it. The next day I was charged unknowingly again. I am fine with paying what I owe, but their knowledge and customer service skills are below par. Advise someone as to what they will be responsible for. We come to them with the trust of our four legged family members in various states of distress. I never got to see a vet, I was told I had to call customer service. As a General manager in hotels, I come to value good service. This Banfield needs to retrain their staff to understand that we pay for the service and a friendly attitude. If they arent content with their job, then seek out one not dealing directly with the public.

Dr. Scherr at the Banfield Hospital in White Marsh, MD, on Pulaski Highway deserves great recognition as a veterinarian and as a compassionate, patient human. I have a dog with extreme fear issues, who shes been seeing for about a year and a half. Each time we visit, she plans to spend time with him, since she knows he needs it. She never gives up on him and looks out for whats best for him and me. Shes encouraging, honest, patient, and caring, which is what has brought us back each time. I truly believe she cares for my dog, and each time we visit, she makes us feel like were the only ones there. Since this is my first dog with fear issues, Ive been learning a lot, especially throughout the first year, and have needed partners to help me through. Dr. Scherr has certainly been one of those. Shes truly a gem.

My dog had an allergic reaction to his rabies shot. I dont believe that they know what they are doing, first of all the shot was given in the mussel on his leg, the shot was supposed to be given on his mid or lower back, and when I brought him in for treatment for his reaction, they treated him for fungus. If my dog had fungus it would not have been only in one spot it would have been spread all along his body, so that was clearly a mistake, the result of them not knowing what the were doing was that my dog was left with a nasty bald spot on his leg. I do not recommend this vet.

Went in to simply get single doses of Revolution for my kittens. As a veterinary technician at another hospital, I was disappointed in the demeanor of the receptionists. I understand they were busy and I pleasantly agreed when they said theyd be with me in a minute. But, the receptionist was very short with me the entire time. And they must have killed a 200 year old oak tree for my receipt alone. Seriously, its 15 pages! For two single doses of Revolution!
