I brought my foster dog in to be spayed and was given one price but when I called to tell them I did not feel comfortable leaving her overnight they said I would have to sign a release and I would not be able to come back to them if there were any problems with her after surgery. I said "That is fine, I am not comfortable with her being there ALL ALONE after surgery and if she has any problems I will take her to the ER in Annapolis." They put me on hold and then came back and said they were going to charge an extra $25 for her being overweight. I was not happy about that because I asked if there would be any extra charges before and they said "No." When I said that is not right they put me on hold again and came back and said they were tacking on an additional $25 for her being in heat (which she was not)! When I said I was not going to pay for these extra charges he said that he would just keep my foster dog. Bottom line....Dr. Peck was angry that I would not allow her to stay overnight unsupervised so he charged me extra to make me mad just because he could. Another thing, I stayed calm and professional the entire time but when I went in to talk to him he would not see me. He came out and as soon as I mention the extra charges he walked away and yelled at me "Stop being mean to me! Youre such a mean, mean person." I know that it sounds hard to believe a grown man would say that to a woman but that is just how insane he is. The other people sitting in there were as shocked as I was! I didnt yell, curse, or talk to him in an angry way and there was no reason for him to treat me that way. Do not take your pets to see Dr. Daniel Peck, hes not to be trusted. I talked to a local police officer who said they have been called to see him on a few occasions. :(

I went here shortly after moving to the area to put my cat to sleep (she was diabetic, 17 years old, and I knew it was time). Id never had to put an animal to sleep before so I didnt know what to do or how to handle it. What concerned me was that they sent in a vet tech who didnt even know how to hold a cat for an injection. Whoever administered the medicine (I guess not the vet b/c it was a woman?) told the girl to hold my cat "like a dog"... so my cat, who was very docile and was used to needles by this point, was actually struggling. They didnt let me or invite me to hold my cat or pet it; the last thing I saw was my cat freaking out at being grabbed by her neck like a puppy, held by someone who looked terrified to even be near a cat!!! It was a sad death for my little sweetheart. I would not recommend this business for anyone looking for a compassionate end for their best friends...

I for one have never had any of my animals mistreated by eastern shore animal hospital. I have been coming to them for a very long time and recommend them highly. As far as Dr. Peck he is a great doctor and really cares about your pets that you bring in my animals have had a lot of surgeries there and I have never been charged more than I was quoted. The staff their is great so I find it hard to believe all of these nasty complaints. Yes I have used another vet and they treated me and my pets rude. So I came back to Dr. Pecks practice and it was the best thing I did. I will not have anyone else look at my pets. So I just want everyone to know that they are a great vet.

My fiance and I just rescued our pup and this was our first visit to this animal hospital. The male doctor we saw here seemed like he was agitated so we didnt feel comfortable asking the questions we had. It was not very personal like I am used to with my parents Vet in Virginia. Leaving my fiance says, wham bam thank you mam, and thats exactly how it felt here. :-( Who knows an awesome Vet near Church Hill? Why does google give a poor-fair rating? Fair is too good of a rating for this place.

I was shocked at the negative reviews I read on here. Despite the fact that there are 4 vets that are a heartbeat away here on Kent Island I drive 45 minutes each way to Chestertowne. I found the price and service unbeatable. I also like spay now for the minor issues as excellent pricing and close to home. Major surgery at annapolis emergency EXCELLENT but bring a wheel barrel of cash

When my new puppy broke her leg, I went to the emergency vet in Annapolis. Thye said it would be like $5,000 to fix or they could amputate ot for $1,000. I looked for somewhere else to go that was cost friendly and came across Dr. Peck. It was $700 to get her surgery and shot. They were really nice and informative; explained everything to me. I love it there.
