This review is due to an incident a few years ago. We rescued dogs at the time and so they often came with special needs and illnesses. After being with these guys for a few years everything seemed fine. That is until one of our beautiful rescues died unexpectedly in his sleep at home. The death was not due to any lack of care or misdiagnosis by this vet but was just because our beloved boy was extremely sick and sadly it happens sometimes. No, the one star review is because of what then occurred a few months later and the total lack of empathy by the lady who answered the phone. At some point three or four months after his death we received the usual please bring him for a checkup kind of card in the mail. Nothing malicious with that, they didnt know our chap had died, but I wanted the vet to note this in their records so we wouldnt get another such communication from them as a poignant and rather upsetting reminder. I called thinking this would be a simple fix. Not to complain, not to be rude, just to add a note in their records that he had gone and check up reminders were not needed. After politely and with perfect manners explaining the reason for my call and asking that the reminders be ceased the woman rudely, and I mean RUDELY, interrupted me. She sternly stated that as the dog hadnt died in their establishment there was no way to stop the mailings regarding our little boy. That there was nothing she could or indeed would do to help and that I should just throw the mailings in the trash. She gave the impression that I was somehow in the wrong for even bothering her. Her attitude was so unbelievable, so uncaring, it still angers me. One star. Zero if I could. We never went back.

I am so saddened by the lack of sympathy from this vet. My sister, who regularly takes her dog and cat there, was turned away when her dog was hit by a car! They said they didnt have time to see him! She had to drive 10 minutes away hoping he didnt die in her car! I called to complain and was told they didnt have time thy had other patients. When I asked if any of them were hit by a car they said no. So how is it you turn away a regular patient with an emergency. You clearly dont care about the animals. I at this point dont even know if he will make it and the dogs Doctor could care less. I am disgusted by the lack of empathy for another human being and a beloved pet. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Let this serve as a warning for all the other "regular patients " out there!

My pet Cairn Terrier was regular client here since purchase in 2005. Things changed for worst after change of owners a few years ago. My best friend died in the car today on the way to Glasgow, maybe because NEAH wouldnt see her. Read response from Dr Hanlin, I dont know where she sent records. Receptionist suggested I take pet to Bel Air. I didnt receive any counsel or questions from from Doctor about problem. Elk Neck Veterinary clinic tried to help and suggested much closer clinic at Glasgow. Now Dr Hanlin sends sympathy card and wants to talk things over.

FOLLOW UP TO PREVIOUS REVIEW: Well the Northeast Animal hospital saw this review and telephoned my house and spoke with my wife (as i wasnt home at the time) a lady(most likely the only one there) could not apologized enough for what happened and said that they were going through staff changes(LIE! as the main one is still behind the wall behind the counter (She didn;t call lol). anyway all said and done with my dog still goes to them as the doctors are not the cause. maybe this review helped? i dunno. but thought i should update.

We have been to North East Animal Hospital several times. My dogs Shiloh and Nash have been well cared for and I have been well informed of everything that is going on during our visits. All of the staff is friendly and genuinley care for my best friends. I will continue to use North East Animal Hospital for Shiloh And Nashs care because we are treated so well. Joe

They are fantastic, Ive been going to Northeast animal hospital for 30 years or more. Dr. Jacobs took care of my animals and was great when I didnt have enough money to pay. He would let me pay weekly until my bill was paid. When he retired the new owners took care of 2 of my babies in a row, both were emergencies and they were great.

I love North East Animal Hospital. The techs are as awesome as the vets. They always make over my little guy and he loves it. You can even hear a smile in their voice when they answer the phone. All that and their fees are so much better than a lot of other places. I would recommend them to anyone.

I can not even begin to tell you how much I love this place, I took my rat Leo there on Saturday and Dr.Hanlin saw him along with her vet tech, Adam. Both were caring and I could tell they love what they do. If you are searching for a vet, TRUST ME this is the place you want!!

I agree with Debra H. Dr. Jacobs does not have the best "people skills" but he is very knowledgable. He does know his practice and can treat problems other vets have failed to find. As long as you can deal with his personality he his a good vet.

North East Animal Hospital: Moffa John V DVM

Just an FYI, Dr Moffa doesnt work here anymore, the new owner is Dr Hanlin. Shes really nice. Ive taken my pets to her and shes really good with them! I highly recommend her. The staffs really good too.
