The dentists, hygienists, and workers are very profecional & the work they provide is good. I have to doc 3 stars for 2 reasons 1) they contradict themselves on how my benefits work or what kind of financing they provided. I was told once I got $700 from the insurance company on each visit, than $700 per year the next. I was told they would only accept financing though a third party credit card which charges bad rates. Think store credit card meets pay-day loans 2) their financing is inconsistent and difficult to get. They actually have no financing. The first time I came in they told me they had payment plans where they would charge my credit or debit card about $25 a month-interest free. The next time I come in they tell me the credit card is the only option. I wasnt even able to get the card because I have no credit. Ive never taken loans (even for school) and Ive never used a credit card. Ive also paid for most anything with cash. Which means I didnt have enough credit to get the card. They kept telling me that it wasnt a credit card when clearly is was. You may only be able to spend money at their location, but this is clearly a credit card. UPDATE: Im docking Baystate dental of longmeadow another star. After I learned this: Once my benefits are out, they will start charging me more per procedure than they would with insurance. For example: with my benefits they will only charge my insurance & me a total of $155 for a filling, without benefits they charge me a total of $215 for the same thing. They explained this difference as being because the insurance company negotiates a set price for doing busness with them. This basically means they are giving me the middle finger. Despite the fact that I am already having trouble paying for dental care they refuse to work with me in any shape way or form. They wont meet me at the price of insurance rates, and they refuse to consider any sort of payment plan. The dentists may be kind, competent, professionals who know what they are doing but the business side seems like it could care less. If money isnt an issue for than this place is fine. If your looking for a kind and considerate company that will work with you to get the care you need, look elsewhere. Unfortunately I have to stay with them because they are the only company which stays open late enough for me to come in after work. Update & response to company response: Between visits I got a bill for $135. I couldnt figure it out because on the printed bill it seemed to show that I was all payed up but the insurance had only payed part of the bill. I called & talked to the offfice & they said they had been wrong about the insurance & the insurance didnt pay for the type of filling they had used. So the insurance had "downgraded" their payment & would only pay for the price of the cheaper filling. They claimed it was "an accident" that the bill had been sent out to me but they didnt drop it until I called back in & complained again. Every time I go in the office workers talk down to me saying things like "we heard you were confused" or "it seems you didnt understand something about your billing" but it has literally been them telling me contradictory things. Also, I get that you negotiate rates with the big multibillion dollar insurance companies, I guess Im just used to independent doctors offices that lower rates for people without insurance or benefits & not raise them. You know, companies which care about their patients? As far as giving quotes about the portion that is due in the office, this part is no longer true. At least for me. They have been so wrong & contradictory so often they are now sending all work to my insurance company first. It takes a lot more time that way but will hopefully finally be ACCURATE.

When Baystate Dental sacrificed their "club memberships" in order to preserve their pricing with the insurance companies, I went out and acquired dental insurance. Two and a half weeks prior to my appointment, I called the office with my insurance info and asked them to make sure that everything was in order for todays appointment. They obviously didnt do anything in advance and informed me that I was not in the insurance companys database when they checked for the first time TODAY. I called the insurance company automated answering from the Baystate Dental office and the Auto Attendant was able to identify me from my member number and my phone number. However, the office was closed and would not be able to speak to the Dental office until business hours on monday. After receiving two emails, two text messages and two phone calls to confirm todays appointment, it was truly sad that Baystate dental didnt put even the most minor time into making sure that i would not have an insurance issue today. It is even more sad that they put a tremendous effort into confirming appointments to ensure their own economic benefits. I have always felt that their dentists were overly aggressive when it came to increasing services and revenue. Too bad they dont put the same efforts into customer service. I WONT BE GOING BACK, and I have spoke to more people that feel the same way

When I walked in I was very impressed with the overall facility. It was modern and very clean. Same thing in the waiting room. The receptionist was very kind and welcoming. When I walked into the treatment area it was spacious and clean as well. There was all kinds of technology that I had not seen before. I have to admit that I was a little concerned, as the quality of patient care can be lost when a company has built their business to the degree to which this one is (not that its too big, there are 12 clinics). I can assure you that the quality of care was top notch. The hygienist was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. When the Dr. (Dr. Kapoor) entered the room he introduced himself and gave me some background on his experience. He communicated with me through every step of the visit. When I went in I was worried about the issue that I was visiting for. Dr. Kapoor was able to explain it to me in multiple ways so that I understood exactly what was going on and by the time I left my worried were extiguished. Superb communication from the whole staff. I am extremely happy to have Baystate dental as my new office and look forward to working with Dr. Kapoor again.

Dr. Park at Baystate Dental of Longmeadow made a regular cleaning and (a few weeks later) a tooth extraction, two of the best experiences Ive EVER had at the dentist! During the extraction, she was kind, careful and communicative; she talked to me throughout the process, letting me know ahead of time about the "pinches and pressure" I would feel. I was expecting a painful procedure, but it was anything but; the extent of my pain was limited to the pinch of the needle at the beginning of the procedure! Moreover, I expected to be in pain, and look like Alvin the Chipmunk for at least a week after, but Im happy to report that four (4) days later, the "pain" I expected has only been mild discomfort, and the "swelling" has been restricted to a very unnoticeable minimum! I truly appreciate the understanding Dr. Park displayed towards my anxiety prior to the procedure, as well as her gentle demeanor and conscientious approach during and after.
