We have limited experience with this vet but are trying them out with the addition of a new puppy to our household. The puppy started throwing up about 4 hours after being given the standard meds for heartworm, worming, etc. so we called to see if we should be concerned or if we needed to replace the meds. After being put on hold several times totaling 20 minutes or more, we were asked if we knew of an emergency vet in the area (shouldnt they at least be able to tell us who that would be???) and advised us to have them see the dog because they were closing soon and still had several appointments for the day. It seems like this is becoming pretty standard care among vets... theyre generalists that only cover shots, and non-emergencies and for other concerns you need a specialist at an astronomical price. Also havent received any response to setting up a followup appointment via their online service after 4-5 days. Called this morning to inquire on a price for meds they want me to pick up and the woman was a bit short. Maybe its just bad coincidence but it seems like they are short-handed. So I may go back to Pet Authority in Waterford (a long hike for me since moving but a good staff) or switch over to using a shot clinic once we get more organized.

I have been coming to Highland Veterinary Hospital for about 25 years. Ive seen a few employees come and go but Ive always loved them and would never dream of leaving. Just recently I lost both of my beloved Maltese girls. It simply shattered my world. I can honestly say, if it werent for the kindness, compassion and professionalism shown from everyone on staff and Dr Groehn, Im not to sure of how I would have gotten through my darkest days! When I saw a tear run down Dr Groehn face it touched me in such a profound way. At that moment I knew that every animal that comes through their doors are more than just a patient but and animal that they truly care about.Highland Vet is the best around, no bones about it!

I have been going to this veterinary clinic for 8 years. The wonderful people there have seen a total of 5 dogs, a cat and a rat or two. My family recently experienced the loss of our best friend Lucy --my lab doberman mix. As traumatic as it was to all of us, it would not have been better with anyone else. They were supportive through the chemo and at the end of her life. Dr Groehn and her staff are as caring as anyone I have ever met. I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done and everything they will continue to do for the rest of our small family members. I also want to give a special thank you to "aunt Connie" ...you are the Greatest!

This office has confused my two dogs many times, and have not returned calls when I have been waiting. Shots were a nightmare (to keep straight) and they missed testing both dogs for heartworm. I have waited in a waiting room for 1 hour, while listening to the staff talk about their weekend, the laundry and all the while cracking jokes. I finally stood in the hall with my dog on a leash! The owner seems good but is not there all the time. Half the staff does not really work, records are messed up and it is hard to get a straight answer. I would never recommend this office.

Can NOT say enough GREAT things about ALL the STAFF & ALL the DOCS!! I would not ever recommend that your fur babies/ reptile babies go to ANY OTHER VET!! HIGHLAND VETERINARY IS BEYOND THE BEST!!❤ I have never had a more LOVING & CARING group of individuals!! Not only are your beloved pets in the BEST of hands but also the pet parents. Most CARING,LOVING & UNDERSTANDING group of people with HEARTS of GOLD!! EVERYONE loves what they are there to do & it shows!! HANDS DOWN THE VERY BEST!! L❤VE U ALL!!

OUTSTANDING!! I absolutely love this place! Ive taken all of my pets here over the last few years for every reason; surgery, check-ups, saying goodbye, and they have been nothing but nice and supportive. "Aunt" Connie is amazing and all of my animals LOVE her (as do I and my wife!) and Dr. Berg is extremely professional and knows exactly what shes doing. They care more about your pet than getting more money from you. They make you feel like part of the family and they TRULY care about every animal.

I have an older dog (11 years old) and a younger dog (3 years old) and have needed to bring them both in for vaccines and various other concerns. Everytime Ive been in, Ive been met with a warm welcome and a helping hand (I also have a baby that I have to bring in with me during visits). I am treated with respect and so are my dogs. The staff is caring, knowledgeable, skilled, and nice. The prices are reasonable. I would recommend this clinic to friends and family with furbabies.

We took our very ill lab in to find out her kidneys and liver were off the charts and failing. After a week of treatment, they took excellent care of her and worked with us in every way possible. "Aunt Connie" is the absolute best, she goes above and beyond! This is definitely her calling! She truly loves animals (especially our dog Hazel)! Dr. Berg and all the staff there have been nothing but amazing! We cant thank them enough for saving Hazels life!!!

Highland Veterinary Hospital is absolutely incredible! As a first time dog owner, I had no idea what to expect from a veterinary visit. Yet from the moment I walked into Dr. Groehns clinic I felt welcomed, and at ease. I knew that my dog Milo would be in the best care possible. Dr. Groehn and staff are exceptionally kind, and patient when it came to the care of my pup. To this day I still drive two and a half hours to ensure my dog is in their care!

The techs, vets and front desk personnel have been professional, caring, and gentle with my new dog. When he needed to stay overnight, I was invited to see where he would be staying in order to help me feel comfortable leaving him. Veterinary care is not inexpensive, but their fees are less or comparable to other vets in the area, and the care is excellent. I will recommend them to friends and family.

I decided to try this vet after going to numerous others and having to go to 24 hr emergency clinics since most vets dont see rabbits. The doctors here were amazing with my rabbit and took the time to get to know her and check everything instead of just rushing through it. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I definitely recommend bringing your pets here.

I have been taking my dog and cats here for 15 years and they make me feel like family. When I see Connie she makes my day and Dr Groehn is so nice and highly knowledgeable. When you love your animals you want the best taking care of them, and thats what you get when you bring them here!!

They have the best vets in the area! I have been going to Highland veterinary hospital for 15 years and every time I walk in they know who I am and who my pet is. They have always taken care of my pets like they were their own. I would never think or taking my pets to any other vets.
