I never do reviews... I usually chalk whatever unsatisfactory customer service experience Ive had to the service provider having a bad day....this however needs a negative review. I have never in my life encountered such horrible service...every employee.. vet, tech, receptionist, everyone had the most piss poor attitude Ive ever seen. We did go in on a holiday...this memorial day 2015, but I assume that when they we hired there they knew working on a holiday would be a possibility, so we wont use that as an excuse. We brought in a 5 week old puppy that had choked on food and was having difficulty breathing. They took the puppy right away into the back room..I thought awesome these people are on top of their game... not very friendly but that was the least of my worries... next the tech came to get our info...they asked his age..I replied 5 weeks, they asked if he was up to date on his shots...puppies that age are too young to receive any?!?! Next they asked if he was neutered.... he is FIVE weeks old ummm so NO?!?! I should have known then.... about an hour and a half later we still had not received any info on the pup... I would have been happy with a hes alive or nope didnt make it (as they claimed to be very busy...even though the worker to patient ratio was def on their side, but what do I know?) Finally we were taken to a room to discuss his xray... the vet pretty much stated she didnt really know what she was looking at because she didnt deal with puppies much....reassuring. she though he may have aspiration pneumonia, ok so did I. She then said she would show them to the x ray person...great. we then told that they would keep him in an oxygen chamber and let us know the results of the xray later in the day...umm ok. Before we left we were instructed to pay half of a high estimate for the pup and tif it was not used they would reimburse us...why couldnt I just pay for what you had done, especially since I had instructed them not to do anything additional with out my approval...but whatever I paid the 460.00. A couple hours later they called it was not pneumonia but pulmonary adiema and all they could do was keep him in an oxygen chamber for 24 to 48 hours and see how he was ( this was the first vet we saw..super defensive of my questions, very rude, very short and spoke to me if I was a child..Im almost 30 not to mention I just dropped 500 bucks there) she was pretty pessimistic.... I called back about 2 hours later..a new vet was on the case! She said the pup was doing well, still in the chamber but improving, we could come see him, first time on the phone she was awesome! We got there and went to the back to see him...they had put in a catheter not sure why cause they didnt give him anything!?!? I then noticed one of the puppies paws was extremely swollen...they put the wrap on the catheter too tight and know one noticed...great...so I told her, she didnt seemed too concerned, the puppy had been weaned on the oxygen and was doing really well, good news, she then said they would begin to wean him every 2 hours and see how he did..awesome, however she was super defensive about our questions, they were nothing major just the usual whats the plan kinda stuff, so before we left we talked to the receptionist about some bill questions, once again super defensive, we were not disputing it just had a question?!?! So we left and went back home.. I just got off the phone with them...I called to ask how the weaning process was going, the tech informed me that had not weaned him down, no medical reason just didnt do it, so I asked to speak to the vet she said the same thing and then proceed to tell me they go by the pup not a schedule... shes the one that gave the schedule?!?!? So u asked if the pup had a relapse and maybe that is why they didnt wean him down? Nope.. she proceeded to rudely tell me the pup was fine then basically hung up on me...so basically they forgot to wean him down or were dragging it out for monetary purposes..either way its shitty... Go somewhere else if you can dont go here!!!

This morning my mini pot belly pig had a critical emergency at our house, he was dying in my arms. Our regular vet was not in today, so I frantically started calling emergency clinics trying to find one that could treat a mini pig. I reached the Animal Emergency Clinic in Kirkwood and had a very nice conversation with Joan, she helped calm me down. I gave her a very detailed description of what was happening. She put me on hold to talk with the Doctor, and then came back and assured me that the Dr. (Dave) could indeed see a pig. She told us to get Piggy there as soon as we could. I loaded piggy up and drove 40 minutes to the clinic. I called and spoke with Joan again, to let her know my estimated arrival via GPS. She told me they would be waiting at the side door for me with a large animal stretcher to transport him in. When I arrived at the clinic the Dr. (Dave) came out, he non-chalantly looked at my seriously injured pig and said "Im not comfortable working on your pig you need to take him to Mizzou" At this point I was looking around for hidden cameras but this HAD to be a joke. But it wasnt. He never examined our pig, or invited us into our office. He had no comforting words, or bedside manner. Literally just came out to my car to tell me to leave. It felt like someone punched me in the stomach. I still do. The heart-less-ness of his words and actions today were unfathomable for someone who is suppose to help people. I drove an hour to get our Pig to another Vet and he is still in critical condition. Those 80 minutes I spent driving back and forth to his office could very well determine if piggy makes it or not. I called the office back and asked to speak with Dr. Dave or Joan to get clarification on why this happened, it was like a bad nightmare and I at least wanted answers on where the communication was dropped. Neither of them would get on the phone with me. So instead I let the poor woman who answered the phone have it, and she probably didnt deserve that and Im sorry. I wish I could rate this Clinic a Zero and not a 1. Looking at their other terrible reviews I dont see how they are still in business.

I would recommend going anywhere but the Animal Emergency Clinic. We came in with our four month old lab puppy last night because he had accidentally gotten into rat poison, and they were terrible. We called ahead to let them know we were coming and they said he would see a doctor right away because of the severity of the situation. When we got there, we filled out paperwork but then waited for over an hour and a half in the waiting room. When we asked what was taking so long we were told we were next on the list and that someone would see us soon. Finally we got into an exam room where a technician saw our puppy for one minute just to get his heart rate and temperature. We waited in that room for an hour and fifteen minutes. We repeatedly asked to see a doctor, when the doctor would be available, and informed them that our puppy was getting restless and was clearly starting to not feel well at all. The worst was that we could see back into the restricted area where all the technicians and doctors were, and they were standing around talking for the entire time we were there. There was no urgency to see pets and they came off like they would rather gossip with one another than actually help the pets that were being brought in. Finally after waiting for over two and a half hours and pleading for our puppy to see someone, we left and went to VSS on Manchester at 141. They immediately saw him because it had been so long since he ingested the poison they were very concerned about him and the possible neurological and physical side effects. The Emergency Animal Hospital would not give us a straight answer, were incredibly rude and condescending when we asked to see a doctor or get any progress update, watched other owners wait just as long and be treated the same way, and we are so thankful we decided to leave and went to a significantly more qualified hospital.
