I personally think this Banfield is one of the worst places to bring your pets. I adopted a kitten about two years ago, my first kitten. I brought her to Banfield because I thought it was be convienent. The plan seemed like a good deal too. It WAS however, I never saw or spoke to the Vet. It was a drop-off, pick-up kind of thing. That was another thing I regret. Just thinking about this place makes me angry. My cat got an ear infection that "took a while to get better". My cat got an eye infection that took way longer than I thought it was suppose too. They only gave me ointment for her even after I explained that her eye was always closed and it was hard for her to open. I got a second Vet opinion and he told me he could run tests and figure it out right away (I did not tell him about Banfield, I wanted to see what he would do first), something Banfield should of done so I wouldnt have to waste my time to keep bringing her back and putting this stupid un-needed ointment in her eye. Months later, my cat kept throwing up clear/yellow liquid. Bought her to Banfield, and they gave me some two jars of pills to give to her. It didnt help. She kept throwing up so I called the next day an hour and a half before they closed. The Vet TECH said the Vet would recommend us going to the ER. Even though, they probably didnt have time to see her and wanted to get out early, who does that??! Im paying YOU! I have insurance THERE! I bought her to Big Bend Animal Hospital and that was an amazing choice. (I am not a fan of North County ER) The Vet there asked me a lot of questions (Vet Techs only asked me if she ate anything she wasnt suppose to and how long she has been throwing up). He recommended an X-Ray and I agreed. I wanted to see what was in her stomach. He also gave her a shot to help her stomach. He told me if she didnt feel better that night, bring her back tomorrow and they will take a blood test to see if anything is going on. Why couldnt Banfield tell me that? I think Banfield is just in it for the money, sure the Vet Techs that work the front desk are nice but it is a unprofessional setting.

Wow...I hate to see these negative reviews because we love this place! We have taken our boxer to them ever since she was 9 weeks old and have received nothing but quality care for her. The Wellness Plan is NOT a rip off, but a HUGE money saver, especially when having your pet spayed/neutered, and any routine visits, etc. At the dog park, I have spoken to MANY pet owners who also use Banfield and swear by the Wellness Plan. Our puppy pulled a groin muscle and was in a lot of pain and couldnt walk, and we had to make multiple visits, and our plan covered almost everything. And the things it didnt cover were discounted. Our dog loves to go there and every time we go to Pet Smart, whether or not its for an appointment, she goes to the counter and stands on the scale. :) We also had to put down our 15 year old Maltese last year and Dr. Paturi was amazing. He discussed all options, let us take our time with her, thoroughly explained the process, what would happen before, during and after. Unfortunately we could not afford to get her remains back from the crematorium (outside service provider), but a week later, we received a card with her tiny paw print in it signed by all of the Banfield employees and doctors. One lady in particular, Chris, was Sofis buddy from day 1, even when we didnt have an appointment, she would run up to her and they would love on each other. I really hate that people are saying that they have had a negative experience, because we love this place! They are willing to squeeze in appointments at the last minute, the doctors patiently answer all questions and never seem to rush you out. Dr. Eisle and Dr. Paturi have a great demeanor with the dogs and our dog loves to see them. She has never once been scared to go to the vet, even after she was spayed.

I will never take my dog back! I went in to Banfield as a new customer and I wanted to get some flea and tick medicine for my Yorkie. When I arrived at the help desk there was urine all of the wooden crate. I told the lady at the desk and she ignored me. The urine wasnt cleaned during that visit. They then told me my total for the medication and we paid cash for it. Then the lady comes back and tells me that they are out of the medication and they cant refund me because the "Practice Manager" had left for the evening. So I would have to wait until the next day to get a refund or next week to get the medicine. I needed the medication that day and I was very frustrated for the inconvenience. I dont understand why there isnt a manager on duty all the time for these type of situations. I also dont understand why the lady would ring me out without checking in stock for the medication. I ended up getting a generic medication that was a fraction of the cost and it worked perfectly. I went back 2 more times and the manager wasnt there those two times. I then called and asked when the manager would be back and I had to set my schedule around hers to get my refund which in my opinion is horrible customer service.

Ive never had a negative experience in the 7 years Ive been taking my pets here! The doctors and staff are always so friendly and polite. The docs will call us with concerns during the exams and give us very useful tips and advice on which route would be best. They are all so knowledgeable as well. I definitely would recommend this vet! I also love the wellness plans offered. Its a great deal and its less of a headache trying to guesstimate the costs of routine checkups and vaccines because its all included! And for a few extra bucks per month you can add in heart worm prevention (6 month supply at a time) which I love since I tend to forget about it.

Scam to sell pet insurance. I called to get the price to declaw a cat. They said that would be covered under their "wellness plan". Er, ok, that wasnt what I asked so I asked what would it cost without the wellness plan. About $400. Wow! Thats double what other vets were telling me. How much was the wellness plan? $30 a month for 2 years. Jeez! That turns into $720 to have a cat declawed. No thanks!

We have gone here since our 3 dogs were just puppies. Good care and I love the monthly care payment plan proving coverage through the year.
