Dr. Steve Diehl is absolutely wonderful. I had actually taken my brothers cat in to get checked but if I had any pets of my own I would definitely bring them to him. Im only giving this a 3 star because of the staff, especially the receptionist Mindy.. Not a pet owner myself so when she asked me for the name I replied "mine or the pet" and she simply rolled her eyes at me and said "both". Even after checking out I had told her that there should be Care Credit under the cats name and she gave me a response as if she had no idea what that was. Even giving a signature for the receipt, I had skimmed to fast and didnt see where to sign and asked her where to sign and she gave no response, simply slammed her finger at the paper and pointed. Hate to say it but they need to clean the house with that staff, starting with Mindy.

Montecito used to be good a couple years ago, but I get more and more disappointed every time I go. It started with the front office staff generally being unfriendly and slow. Half the time they seem more interested in socializing with each other than helping clients. There are of course a few exceptions. We have seen Dr. Diehl for some time, and while I do like him, I cant put up with the frustrations of the rest of the clinic. It is like they expanded their services, but still have the same size clinic and parking lot. A couple times weve gone, and there is nowhere to park. And the very small waiting room is packed. The last thing you want to deal with when you have a stressed pet is a tiny space full of other pets and people.

This was my first visit and I will likely not go back again. The front staff was rude and did not even greet me when I walked in because they were busy talking to each other and on their phones. Not a good first impression. I saw Dr. Patrick (?), after sitting for 30 mins, he rushed me through the visit and seemed annoyed when I asked him questions about the medications he was prescribing to my dog. I was going to him for a second opinion and he had prescribed a different antibiotic than what was recommended from another vet and I just wanted to know his rationale--Im a medical professional and I like to be informed. This didnt really instill much confidence with me.

Love the Montecito Vet and their staff. They have cared for all my show Keeshond dogs . They will fit you in if it is an emergency and always have fair prices and also dont try to sell you unnecessary procedures to make money. I just lost a litter of puppies and they couldnt of been more kind and understanding to me and my dog. A note I was referred to them By Joanne Reed who is the AKC non sporting breeder of the year and she uses them for all her show dogs care.

Recently brought our pug in for gum disease, I felt horrible for how bad it had gotten. They explained really well our different options and helped us find the best solution given our financial situation and our dogs health. She recovered quickly and the vet so super sweet asking to call and check in on her. Its obvious they really care here and well definitely use them if needed in the future.

My family has taken our pets to Dr Patrick for over 10 years as he is the best. We travel much further than the vet near our house because we trust him, and he is gentle, and explains every thing. Recently we saw Lynn Lankes there and she was fabulous! We were reluctant of not seeing Dr Patrick as he was fully booked. 5 stars for both vets. Up front staff could use some smiles and hellos.

Long time dog owner and I really like bringing my dogs to Dr Diehl. He helped me and my 13 year old go through lymphoma when it was very important to have a Vet that was concerned with your pet and you as the owner too. Dr Patrick is also on my list of who to go to when my pets need to be seen! Would recommend to others

Finally found a Vet that will call/fax a prescription to an online pharmacy. This tells me that theyre more concerned with keeping heartworms out of my dog than making a few extra bux. Keep up the good work guys!
