The WORST place ever. IF I COULD GIVE IT 0 STARS I WOULD. I would call it Austin Highway Animal Cruelty Center. I had been taken my dog there for years when i decided to take a long weekend vacation. I dropped him off there for boarding for the weekend. The price they quoted was reasonable and the staff was professional, like always. They even volunteered to shower him and update his shots while there. I left feeling content and satisfied. When I picked him up he was scared of the staff, shaking, and FILLED, FILLED with ticks. HUGE TICKS! His ears were down and he smelled horrible. I pointed this out to the staff and she just blew me off, told me that HE brought in the ticks. Then they charged me more than I had been quoted. When i got home he threw up and was depressed for days. Im sure he was dehydrated because he couldnt stop drinking water for the rest of the day. I dont know what they did to him but when i called back to voice concern the staff blew me up again. No pet deserves to be mistreated by anyone, let alone their vet. Needless to say, Ive never been back since.

I came to River City Veterinary Care with my sick, nearly-16-year-old cat. My regular vet couldnt see her for several days, and they were recommended to me by another vet as well as a friend. They were kind, compassionate and walked me in detail through her exam/test findings as well as cost of treatment - and always made time to see her. Dr. Provost was her primary vet, but Dr. Neelesh saw her as well. In the end, after two weeks of visits, I unfortunately had to put her down, as her condition was too far advanced. I couldnt have asked for better treatment - both for my cat and for myself as we went through this difficult process. They are most definitely sensitive to the human side of their veterinary practice. Holly, one of the primary vet techs, even called to make sure I got home OK after I had to say final goodbyes to my kitty. All of the staff were stellar, and River City is now our permanent place for vet care. Ive had very good vets in the past, but the care we got from River City is the best Ive ever experienced.

Went to this vet because after a recommendation from the rescue group 3 of my critters came from. Mty last vet moved out of state and the practice she was in was a little pricey for testing. I was looking for a vet who was not overly expensive and who would not go overboard with diagnostic test for my dog. Im an RN and based on my dogs symptoms, she either had diabetes or a neurologic problems causing seizures. The lab test cost was very reasonable compared to other vets (for lots of blood work and urine), and Dr Neelish explained what we would probably do depending on the lab results, and called me the next day with lab results. Good news was my lab didnt have diabetes (labs were normal), but he explained that they dont automatically treat small seizures and wanted me to journal her seizureactivity. I will defiinitely be back when she is due for shots and my other 3 will be seeing him also!

We are so grateful for formerly known Perrin Beitel Vet Hospital and the current River City Veterinary Care. I feel completely confident Dr. Neelesh and Dr. Provost and their staff provide the very best medical care I can find for my pets. I thought Drs. Ayers and Klecka and staff were wonderful also, but we feel very fortunate to gain such expertise and professionalism in the transition. In addition to care and compassion, River Citys staff are "Over-the-top" in accommodating pet parents. They seem to sense when we are distraught and provide that extra comfort we seek. Drs. Neelesh and Provost strive to approach every medical issue with much focus, deciding on a treatment plan up front, provide an expected outcome and constantly searching for alternatives when expectations are not met. We feel we could not find any better medical care for our fur babies anywhere else at any price.

Went in for a urine culture and walked out with over priced "tape worm" medication! Dog NEVER had worms when he walked in and still does not have "tape worms." Treated the dog like it was a piece of furniture! We gave them all his past history and they charged us $7 for the info..I cannot say enough about this "hospital." Our dog pooped as we were checking out and we tried to show them that there were no worms and they refused to look! Never got the service we asked for and over charged the office visit. They want to do test and over charge for medication the animal(s) do not need, NEVER inform owner of any additional charges till the money goes through! NEVER recommend this "hospital" to ANYONE! Left owner and dying dog in reception area, felt that was an emergency and they treated them even worse than us!

I do not know what these people at the bottom of this page are talking about. My pets and I have been a customer of Austin Highway Animal Hospital for the past year and have had nothing but good experiences. The staff is always polite and very knowledgeable. Dr. Neelesh is the best. He truly cares about animals and goes out of his way to make sure your pet is receiving the best treatment possible. I have never had a Vet call personally and check up on my dogs after a major procedure or even after just a minor procedure. However, Dr. Neelesh sure does. He calls personally to make sure everything is okay and on track with your pet. I have interacted with many Veterinarians over the years and this is the BEST service and customer care I have ever received for my pets. Definitely a top notch clinic.

Because I am a dentist with my own practice I can be very critical of the offices of other health care providers. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Neelesh and his staff. I have had three dogs and two cats under his care. I love that the appointment times are kept by the staff. Most offices keep patients waiting too long- AHVHs timeliness reflects the staffs respect for patients. I have never seen anyone at the office bring their problems to work with them- they may have had the worst morning ever and the patient would never know, The focus is on the pet. The communication is tremendous. Dr. Neelesh takes time to explain everything. The cost is extremely fair for the high quality of service.

I followed Dr. Melissa Marbach from Acres North because she is the best vet I have ever come across. She is very up on current research, willing to call in specialists when indicated, and she looks things up. When I was pregnant she was more helpful in educating me about toxoplasmosis than my OB was! She is also super helpful with pet insurance. If you have it, you know there is paper work for the vet to do. She is thorough and fast to get it in, very unlike any other vet I have used. I have not taken my pets to Dr. Bommell yet, but she seems very smart and helpful too. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough!
