I went with my 19 yr old daughter, to see the doctor in the hopes of getting a script written for a medication she has been on since 2nd grade. Granted, it is a schedule 2 drug for ADD, but we had a legimate reason for going to your facility. Our previous Primary Care Physician at Cox had left to open up an independent practice (Dr. Chambers) which does not take insurance. Our new primary care physician at Steeplechase, Dr. Propst, had not seen her for this condition yet and is on maternity leave, but my daughter has an appointment in May already scheduled to discuss this medication with her upon her return. My daughter had been trying to do without her medication, as her last refill was back in October of 2015. She had just taken them when she really needed to focus, so her 30 pills lasted her for 3 months. Now; however, she is in her second semester of nursing school at Cox College, and has found it increasingly difficult to focus enough to complete all of the required studying and maintaining her concentration in the 6 hour lectures. All of this information can be verified, in fact, we offered to login to her Cox Health Express account so the physician (which I will not name, although I should) at your facility could see her records. He wasnt interested in listening to her situation, he was short, explained that people come in there all of the time in order to abuse this medication, he said Im not writing this script for you, stood up, put a big mark through her paperwork, and as he walked out the door he said "and you two can just leave now". He treated my daughter and I like drug addicts, was rude. He did however set an excellent example for my daughter as to how NOT to treat a patient. We will never step foot in your facility again, and I will tell everyone I know how we were treated. The fact that he didnt write the script, was fine, but the way he treated us and spoke to us, was reprehensible. We are good people and my daughter has a medical condition for which she needed help. We came to your facility in good faith and left shocked and in tears. Weve never had anyone, much less a health care "professional" treat us with such disrespect. We will be filing a formal complaint. Regards, Dana W.

Friday night, November 25, 2016 was my first experience with the Family Medical Walk-In Clinic on South Campbell in Springfield, Mo. and I was beyond pleased. With it being the Thanksgiving holiday weekend my regular Cox primary care doctor was out, his on-call would not see me, Cox Urgent Care closed at 3:00 pm... the on-calls advice.... "Well, go to the Emergency Room." Nice options. Nice concern. My girlfriend checked with FMWIC, they were open till 11:00 pm. All I needed was some antibiotics to deal with chronic cellulitis which hits often because of a severe vascular condition. Time and time again when Ive had this come on, I call my GP and he prescribes the medicine over the phone, saving me the hassle of making a trip across town. We arrive at FMWIC at 4:30 pm and are out by 5:15 pm. The staff, the doctors, every one we encountered was friendly and thorough. My questions were answered, I was not spoken to like I was some cry baby. The doctor examined me and prescribed the very same antibiotic I last had in April when that attack of cellulitis came on. The place was clean and well-staffed for a holiday weekend. The whole experience reminded me of the class and care shown by the Mayo Clinic regarding the two trips Ive had to make there. I highly recommend Family Medical Walk-In Clinic on South Campbell in Springfield, Missouri when a non-emergency or urgent situation comes up on holidays and weekends.

I came in this morning my my 5 year old son. I called ahead to be sure they saw children and took insurance. I signed in at the desk and my 5 year old was behind me sitting in a blue plastic chair. As I was signing papers he stood up on one of the chairs and stepped onto anther one beside it. This happened in all about 2 seconds. He was not hurting anything and its not unusual behavior for a 5 year old boy with his medical condition. In this 2 seconds a front desk clerk named "Michelle" says very rudley.... " you need to get him, hes standing on a chair". She said it with an attitude as if she was disgusted with my son or irritated that we were there. Considering she works at the front desk of a medical office I think she could use a dose of kindness, compassion and understanding for other people and children with medical handicaps. Pretty upset by the lack of customer service by Michelle and I would suggest a change in career field where maybe she doesnt need to interact with other people. Other than that the lady that checked me in was kind and efficient. Overall probably wont return to this clinic m... Better off going to a pediatric urgent care where the staff has better understanding of children.

I waited forever to see an MA and a nurse who told me (about a swollen lymph node) that it was nothing but thats just how god made me. I explained that it had swollen around the time I got sinus infection type symptoms she made up several things over the course of the 5 minutes she was in the room, first it was a node then it was a bone then it was possibly acne then it was maybe a cyst but either way it would go away with the antibiotics. Also she never told me what my diagnosis was, I still have no idea, and I was handed a script and shoved out the door. I expressed my concern over my lymph node multiple times and she was condescending and dismissive each time as she came up with a new answer. So now I am still sick and I get to go to a different urgent care tomorrow and do this all over again. The place is also filthy, dirty, disgusting. UPDATE: The "bone" behind my ear, you know the one that the nurse said was there because thats how god made me, well it wasnt a bone (go figure) and no thanks to this place or any of their staff I got a correct diagnosis and its all taken care of. SERIOUSLY DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AT ALL.

I went in rescently for terrible shoulder pain and its darn near impossible to get an appointment anywhere in this town so i picked this walk in clinic. Everyone was wonderful from the moment I walked in, two people jumped to help me and were incredibly kind and attentive. I only waited in the waiting room about 10 min before being called back by the gentleman nurse. He was very nice and funny and listened to everything I said. I did have to wait about 20 min for the doctor but they were super busy so I wasnt upset about it. The doctor was right to the point when she came in and super nice and listened, asking tons of questions to cover any possible reason for the pain and patient with me when I could complete a lot of the pressure tests because of the pain. The X-ray tech was very nice and full of humor, made me very comfortable and was patient with me when some of the ways I had to hold my shoulder were very painful. All in all it was a wonderful experience from intake to the nice lady who took my insurance copay payment. I will definitley be back if I ever need to see a doctor! Thanks so much everyone!
