For as long as I can remember I have suffered from low back pain and frequent headaches. Pain for me was a lifestyle. I would wake up with it, and go to bed with it, and deal with it for most of every day. Some days were better than others, and even on my bad days, I could take enough pain relievers to get me through the day. I have known Michael in the front office for a long time. She noticed the discomfort I was feeling, and started to encourage me to visit Dr. B. I was a skeptic though. I never believed chiropractic would work for me. But she kept encouraging me, and kept pressing the subject, until finally, I agreed to get checked out during the annual food drive. Dr. B immediately saw the problem after looking at my x-rays. I had a severe case of scoliosis which had previously been misdiagnosed. My spine was a mess. The curve of my neck was way off, I had several subluxations, and my hips were out of alignment, just to name a few things. Everywhere he looked something needed to be corrected. But even after seeing all of that I STILL refused treatment. I kept living with the pain for months, until one day I just couldn’t take it anymore. I physically could not function and no amount of pain killers were helping to get me on my feet. So I called Michael, and the rest is history. I’ve been seeing Dr. B several times a week now for the last eight months. And I cannot believe how good I feel today. Now I have more pain free days than I do pain full. I still have a long way to go with my treatment, but I look forward to each day now knowing that my pain is mostly in my past. Thank you Dr. B, and everyone at Rivertowne Family Chiropractic. You have all helped me to live a much better, happier, and pain free life. You have a sign in your front window that says “Pain is NOT a lifestyle”. I never would have believed it before, but now I tell it to everyone that will listen. Pain is NOT a lifestyle for me anymore, and it doesn’t have to be for anyone else.

I began my correction program with Dr. Bickmeyer 1 year ago. I had been getting adjustments from another chiropractor intermittently for years, but Dr. Bickmeyer ordered an intensive correction program for me because I had several serious subluxations. For years before starting my correction program, I had been on 3 prescription medications and two over the counter medicines for acid reflux. I also had to be very careful what I ate. Now I am no longer on any medicine at all and I can eat most anything I want. My whole family had a spinal check up and started receiving care. My son who is 29 has suffered from headaches his whole life. He even developed a bump on the back of his neck. After about a year of treatment he no longer has the bump and his headaches have stopped! He had a major case of Forward Head Posture which means that his neck curve was actually reversed. His curve is now going in the right direction. I strongly urge you to get your family members and friends in for a spinal check. It could be the answer they have been looking for! Toni DeRaps

Dr. Bickmeyer, Dr. Joel, Michael, and Melissa are all so awesome. They make the office feel so welcoming every visit. The best part about this business is it cares about every individual patient and not just about collecting money to be adjusted. The doctors truly care about your overall health and they get to know everyone on a personal level. This is not a walk in and get adjusted type of business. They want to set a plan up for everyone to make their overall health better for life. Quick adjustments will most likely only provide a temporary relief to your problem, so their plans give you a lifetime of relief. Definitely worth checking out if you are having any kind of health issue because the spine affects everything in your body!!! Give them a chance and I bet you will love it!

Six months ago I was not able to move my head, left or right, because of severe pain in my neck. I called the office and was able to see Dr. Ed that same day. I went in and saw Dr. Ed and approximately 30 minutes later, i left his office pain free. I also have had back issues for about 25 years ( two discs removed 25 years ago) Dr. Ed has been adjusting me over the past six months and i am nearly pain free for the first time in that same 25 years. I consider Dr. Ed Bickmeyer, professionally, nothing short of a miracle worker. Personally Dr. Ed sincerely cares about the comfort and health of his patients and i couldnt give a higher recommendation

This place is GREAT!! I have been a patient at Rivertown for over a year now and cant imagine life without them. I used to be a sceptic of chiropractors but after seeing how Dr. Bickmeyer and his staff helped my brother and mother, I decided to find out what they had to offer. I was very impressed with the fact that Dr. B (that is what his patients call him) did not want to treat me until I was committed to helping myself also. It takes a joint effort from Dr and patient to correct chiropractic issues properly. If you are having pain there is a good chance that it is due to you spine not being in line and Dr. B can show you how!!!!!

I started going to Dr. B for my migraines, I suffered for years with trying to live my life around their comings and goings. My normal migraine episode would consist of loss of vision in my right eye, over sensitive to smells. Nothing would take away the pain. Sometimes I would have to vomit just to get through the day. After 4 months of care I can honestly say that I am migraine free. The other day I had a headache and couldnt stop telling everyone about it. For someone that hasnt experienced a headache in more than 17 years I was pretty excited! Thank you Dr. B and the whole team at Rivertowne.

Dr. Beckmeyer is a CON-ARTIST. He positions you for x-rays and cherry-picks which x-rays to show you. When I insisted on seeing all of my x-rays I saw that there was no improvement in my spine. This was after receiving 3-4 adjustments a week for over three months. He said that we had momentum going and that i should start to see some improvements. What does momentum mean in this situation? Also, my back and neck pain increased during his treatment. His adjustments are aggresive and risky. He is a great businessman but an incredibly awhful doctor.

19 years ago I suffered an injury playing softball and didnt really think much of it. I was young and thought I would heal with no problems. Well, I didnt. My neck would only allow my head to turn well to the right but not the left. A little over 10 years ago, I started to visit Dr. Bickmeyer and he began treatments to correct what I had let go for far too long. It wasnt long before I had more mobility in my neck than I had experienced for many years! Now, I do not notice any problems with my neck and I feel great. Thank you, Dr. Bickmeyer!
