We had wrote a review 2 years ago, but it seems to have disappeared so I am writing a new one with my recent experience and past experience. 2 years ago, I bought a puppy and he became very sick. I took him to the emergency vet since no vet was open on Sunday night. He was required to stay there overnight and they referred me to Dr. Oxley first thing in the morning when I picked him up. Companion Care was able to see Mochi that day. He was not eating because he teeth couldnt chew his food (who knew?!) Dr. Oxley suggested karo syrup (not very expensive solution) and we got some wet dog food (to mix with his dry kibble) He was better in no time! Ever since then, I have returned to Companion Care for EVERYTHING! Recently, I was dog sitting for close friends when I witnessed their dog have a seizure. I had found out from the owner that this was her 3rd seizure in the past month. (She had one just the day BEFORE) She was at another vet, so I called them first to see if they would be able to make an appointment to see her. They refused and said that I needed to get a calender and mark down the NEXT seizure and record the time. Only then they would let me bring her in. This was NOT what the owner wanted to hear. I called Companion Care (I was not able to reach them at first but got a call back!!) It was already past 5, so I asked if I could bring her in the next day. This wonderful vet said YES! It was a trying week, but Companion Care did everything they could to make sure Puppy (yes thats her name!) was on the road to recovery. They were in contact with me everyday and she is now on medication. It seems like she has made a full recovery! She has gone from barely able to stand to playful and energetic! Companion Care has helped my beloved Mochi from every little thing he has experienced. I was already in LOVE with this place but when I had to bring Puppy in... Lets just say I cannot express how much I appreciate everything they have done. Companion Care is the most reasonably priced, caring, and accommodating Vet Clinic I have ever been too!

YOU CANNOT COUNT ON THIS VET DURING EMERGENCIES!!! We will not be going back to this clinic. We had used them for about 5 years. Their website at the end of December 2015, said to call or stop in during business hours for pet emergencies. When our dog was having seizures, I took her Companion Care during business hours and was turned away rather unkindly by the receptionist. Confused, I called and asked to speak to Dr. Oxley personally. He called back and said that the website was wrong, that he was too busy to see our dog and to take her to the emergency vet. A short time later he called back and said if I could have her there in 15 minutes he could see her that day. I took her right over. He stayed after hours to see her, and ran over one hundred dollars in blood tests. I expressed my sincerest gratitude for fitting her in. The tests came back that she was dying, and he said there was nothing he could do. Our dog died two weeks later. So now in mid-March Dr. Oxley calls to see how our dog is doing. When I told him we had to put her down 2 1/2 months prior because she was in so much pain, he said, "Well thats too bad. Hey, can you do me a favor and not call me or stop in during emergencies? It just makes things go smoother in scheduling, Id appreciate it". Aside from the fact that HE called ME and told me to bring her in, I was completely taken aback by the insensitivity of his comments. We will be finding a new vet.

We started going to Companion Care when we moved closer to the area. My 1 year old Shih Tzu had been throwing up yellow bile almost every day. My other vet clinic told me that there was no cure and didnt seem too concerned, but I felt there was something I could do. When we went to see Dr. Oxley he did some blood work to see if she had Adissons Disease. Her number stated she was close, but not close enough to be for sure. The next test was $200, and Dr. Oxley wanted to try something else before I paid that money for something she may not even have. We had tried giving her rice with chicken broth a few times a week which did soak up most of the acid in her stomach, but she would still vomit almost once a week. She now takes 1/4 of a Famotidine tablet (acid reducer sold at HyVee, $5.00 for 30 tablets) and has not vomitted since. I am so thankful we tried this pill rather than the $200 test! He understands I am a college student by giving me fair prices and truly cares for Bella. I would recommend this clinic to anyone!

I have more respect for this doctor than I could ever imagine! We have been through so much with our pets. There have been so many times that Dr. Oxley could have done procedures that were unnecessary; however, every time, he has been so honest and truly done what is in the best interest of our pets. My dog was scheduled for a surgery that a different vet had recommended (a very expensive one at that) and already in the care of Companion Care. Dr. Oxley called me and told me that he didnt think the surgery was necessary and that it would cause a lot of pain to my dog. Instead of just performing the surgery, he asked me my thoughts after consulting with him and we cancelled it. My bill for my pet literally cost me 1/8 of what the surgery would have cost. He truly loves animals and cares about his job and the best interested of the animals more than anything else. I would recommend Dr. Oxley to anyone and everyone! He is an amazing vet and overall person!

I first went to Dr. Oxley about a year ago to discuss putting my elderly, hip dysplasic Lab on arthritis medication. He answered every single question I had about her prognosis and about the different medications. Unlike other vets Ive seen in Lincoln, he didnt do more blood work than necessary or recommend the most expensive medication to rake in a huge profit. He truly cares about the animals he sees and judges each on a case by case basis, taking into consideration your lifestyle and budget. I trust him and his staff because I can tell they really do have my pets best interest in mind. Amy is a wonderful tech and very knowledgeable. I rescued a female kitten and had her fixed at their office and was very impressed with how reasonable their spay/neuter fees are. They keep them low to encourage more people to fix their pets. I just adore them and their philosophy towards vet care!

When we moved close to Companion Care we decided to take our dogs there due to convenience. We have been so impressed with Dr. Oxleys attitude, commitment and care we continue to see him even though we have since moved to the edge of town. Our dogs get excited when we pull up and they see Dr. Oxley and Amy! The prices are also reasonable and they are willing to discuss alternative, cheaper, treatment options. From the big events, such as when one of our dogs became paralyzed overnight, to the small things, like getting their nails clipped, Dr. Oxley shows compassion and answers any questions and ensures that the animal and owners best interest are taken care for. If you have just moved and looking for a vet or are considering changing vets, there are none better than Companion Care.
