I have been one of Dr. Guttermans patients for years, and it has been a privilege to develop a relationship with such a compassionate person. He is always thorough in his examinations and treats his patients with the utmost sensitivity and care. Dr. Gutterman has gone out of his way for me, and Im sure he would do the same for his other patients. When I was younger, I sustained a sports injury that left me with blurry and spotted vision. Fearing that my symptoms would worsen, I reached out to Dr. Gutterman. He came into the office during his holiday to see me and address the concerns I was having. Afterwards, he continued to monitor and check in with me until my symptoms subsided. It felt really good knowing that Dr. Gutterman wanted to see me heal and invested a lot of his time to help make that happen. I think everyone searches for doctors who they trust, and I have definitely found that in Dr. Gutterman. If youre looking for a new ophthalmologist, I highly recommend going to his practice.

The worst experience ever the receptionist made an appointment told me they accepted my insurance i just show up did all paper work and this nasty receptionist treat me and my 6 years old so bad told me i was a lier and that i can go somewhere else with my crappie insurance i couldnt believe how i was treated i decided to record the bad moment my son isd traumatized he doesnt want to go to any doctor and the doctor treat me very disrespectful in front of other patient calling me bad mother because i complaint asking why the receptionist gave an appointment if i told her what insurance i have that he needs to better trained his staff im sad this dr carl Gutterman is far from being professional i dont know how a nasty man like him got a health degree i hope one day the proper authority sees all the bad thing he is doing and once again i have a video to proof what i saying

It is a shame that all reviews are allowed on here if when people use name calling....It is a shame that people dont mention that they failed to bring a referral on their first visit and because they came from far they were seen basically for free...and it is a shame that people lie...they would have been seen if 10 minutes late but they were 45 minutes late...and in order not to back up other patients they were not seen. They failed to mention that they said they would only be a few minutes late but when the office saw they were already half an hour late they were called so as not to make them actually travel all the way to the office....Of course, we all know that some of these reviews must be taken with a grain of salt

Dr. Carl Guterman is an excellent pediatric ophthalmologist. He has taken care of all five of my children with great expertise and care. Two of my children have had complex eye issues and Dr. Guterman followed their care carefully and expertly. He is warm and kind and has a very helpful and friendly staff. He is one of those rare old-fashioned doctors that still gives his patients all the time that they need. I wish there were more pediatric specialists like Dr. Guterman...

My daughter was a patient of Dr. Guterman for years. His staff is friendly and great with children and his waiting room is totally f.u.n. Dr. Guterman himself was not only patient with my daughter, who at the time was about 4 y/o, but he was with me as well. We had a million neurotic questions and he never talked down to us or treated us like morons. Believe me, I have been to specialists before, some are a**es. I highly recommend him for your family.

I wish I could give him a big zero star ...the worst ever Dr of USA I have seen, on the first appointment we went to him n we wait there for more than an hour my husband works on NYC....n we go to him from all the way to jersey city to hack n sack n when the next appointment I took n we were almost thr to his office n they cancelled the appointment coz we were late for 10 Minutes ....he is not "gutterman" he is a real gatterman

Doctors policy is to require a social security number for your child, so stay away if you value your childs privacy. Upon asking for a copy of the HIPPA policy, I was asked to leave and the police were called. I guess I struck a nerve? He also refused to give us our paperwork back. Of course he doesnt disclose the policy until after youve waited for you appointment and took a day off of work and basically have no choice.

My children have been patients of Dr. Gutermans for close to two decades and we have had only positive experiences. The children actually look forward to visits with Dr. Guterman. He takes the time to explain and answer all our questions. His curtious staff helps us schedule convenient appointments and follow ups. We recommend Dr. G. to all our friends in need of a caring and excellent pediatric opthamologist/surgeon.

Dr. Guterman and his staff were very pleasant to deal with. We were 15 minutes late to our appointment due to inclement weather and they did not give us any grief. The wait wasnt bad either. They were very clear about thier policies in advance, so we didnt have any issues with paperwork. Dr. Guterman was great with my 2 year old. Will definitely utilize his service again.

Dr. Guterman is an excellent doctor and his diagnoses are careful and on target. He not only provided first rate medical care to my daughter but he did so with genuine concern for her condition. Dr Guterman cares about his patients, he treats them with patience and concern. He is not only a superb physician but a real mentch ! Highest recommendation.

Would highly recommend. Dr. Gutterman was kind, gentle, and explained everything clearly. He was patient with the children and very friendly. My childs fear of doctors was slightly diminished from this office visit. The office is well equipped for children, toys in waiting room kept the kids busy, and the secretary was extremely pleasant and welcoming,

He was able to diagnose our daughter with amblyopia at 10 mos of age. She now wears glasses. He has many great techniques to get babies to look where he wants them to. Including a whole drawer of spinning light toys. Very thorough and importantly a man who is dedicated to his work.
