I have suffered with tailbone pain for the past 4 months. I did not fall or injure myself. I have a job that requires sitting for long periods of time and started to get a slight pain when standing up from my chair one day. This pain got progressively worse over the next few days and months. Sitting is painful as well as laying on my back and getting out of the car after driving. I decided I would do what I always try to do so I googled my symptoms first to see what was wrong. i got very anxious as I read more and more and I was really afraid to see a doctor for it. While searching , I notIced Dr Foyes website and read some of the information. I also read many case studies that I could completely relate to along with many great reviews about Dr. Foye and his staff. I then filled out all of the required paperwork on the website but due to my anxiety I still decided to just wait and see how I felt. It was still a very embarrassing thought to have to go to a doctor to discuss my tailbone. After a few more weeks of wishing the pain would go away on its own, I finally gave in and made an appointment. When I called I spoke to a woman named Grace. As soon as we started talking some of my anxiety immediately went away. She was warm, friendly and answered all of my questions. She really set my mind at ease. I had an appointment set for 2 weeks later. Those two weeks, I was riddled with anxiety. The night before my appointment, I received an email from Dr. Foye introducing himself and going over what I should expect from my visit. I was impressed. After all, what doctor goes out of their way to email their patients? I headed to his office the next morning for a 12:00 apt. I arrived an hour early and they took care of me anyway. They sent me downstairs for X-rays. The X-rays were done in a standing and seated position. I also had to sit in my most painfully seated position which was difficult but they were quick. After the X-ray I headed upstairs where Dr. foye greeted me to introduce himself. He then had one of his staff members take a complete history and go over my symptoms. He was very thorough and nice. When he was finished, he told me to watch a 40 minute video while the doctor looked over all of my X-rays and history. I thought I would be bored but the video was so informative that I watched every minute of it. Dr. Foye then entered the room and went over everything with me. We looked at each X-ray together and he discussed everything he saw. He spoke to me in laymen terms so I could understand everything I was looking at. He then provided a full exam and went over his treatment plan as well as some of my options. It turns out that my tailbone dislocates upon sitting and that is what is causing me pain. Of course, I had lots and lots of questions and he answered every one of them. He didnt at any point make me feel rushed. I will be going back to him in a few weeks for an injection. I feel so at ease knowing that I will be under his care. Dr Foye has an excellent bedside manner and really cares about his patients. If your anxious or embarrassed, you wont be once you meet him. I am relieved and looking forward to continuing my treatment with Dr Foye.

After six years of suffering with tailbone pain, and going from one specialist to the next (XRays, CT Scan, MRI showed nothing), at no avail, I decided to go see Dr. Foye in Newark, NJ. I had found him on the Internet, and kept saving him for "last resort", in part because of the fact that the Canadian medical system would not cover his fees, but also because I just wasnt sure if he could help me. In May of this year, I decided that it was time to take a leap of faith!! It was quite a trip, from Vancouver, Canada to Newark, NJ! But it was SO WORTH IT!!! Dr. Foye had a special Xray ordered, a "dynamic xray, seated position". And there it was: dislocation while seated - official diagnosis: Listhesis. It took him just that Xray to figure it out!!!! He recommended two injections, one "ganglion impar" as well as "corticosteroid specifically placed at the dislocating joint segment". It is now 4 weeks later - TOTAL RELIEF!!! I am so happy and relieved, and I would strongly recommend to everyone who has tailbone pain - accept the additional expense of travelling to Newark, NJ - its TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! Even just the part of finding out that there was an actual REASON for me having pain, was already so awesome!! Dr. Foye and his two assistant doctors ( MDs) at the time, spent an entire afternoon with me, making sure they knew all of my medical history, and explaining very thoroughly to me what was going on and what needed to be done. Dr. Foye was super friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. I felt very reassured and comfortable in his care. As he predicted, the first 2 - 3 weeks after the injections there was a fair bit of discomfort, Ill even admit that I doubted the outcome a little bit, and then, just like he told me might happen - after 4 weeks, the pain was gone. It has been a week now, Im in total bliss, and hope that it will stay like this. This result is more than I was even hoping for!! Dr. Foye also gave me a copy of his book. He showed me the pages that were applicable to me - go figure, my diagnosis "listhesis" is actually common!! He also provided me with a copy of my (now treasured) XRAY, so I can perhaps help to educate some doctors here in Canada!! THANK YOU, DR. FOYE, for everything!!!!

I had an appt on Oct. 17, 2013 with Dr. Foye. After a lengthy stay in his office, long video, and detailed assessment, he seemed to find the reason for my tailbone pain and a solution. I was told that I needed to get preapproval from insurance for the injection. I offered to pay privately that day but was denied this option. I waited 2 weeks for approval and when I called them was told that it had been denied because his office was using the wrong code, however the office refused to submit under the code asked for by the insurance company. So I again called and offered to pay privately or at least come in for a steriod injection to get me through the next couple of months until the insurance situation could be resolved. I sent Dr. Foye an email as instructed by his office staff on Nov. 7. 4 phone calls since then and messages left to have the Dr. return my phone calls and another email sent on Dec. 14. Still no response. Last email sent today advising him on my dissatisfaction with his office staff and himself as a Dr. I now have an appt with my regular orthopedic MD that has been giving me blind injections for the past year and hope to find comfort that way. Dont waste your time with this office. They just dont care. I am an RN and work with Drs all the time and he should be ashamed of himself for conducting his business in this manner.
