I called Drs Express Monday morning 6/13/16 and spoke to the office manager Marge. I had fallen off my bike the day before and sustained what I thought could have been a concussion. My question to Marge was simply, if I am examined, and the doctor determines that I should have a CT scan, will she write the script? The answer was, if the Dr. believes it is medically necessary she will write a script for a CT scan. The reason I called to be certain was because on my previous visit a few months prior, I had scratched my ear canal with a Q-tip. The Dr. took one look inside my ear, exclaimed that he saw dried blood and refused to treat me. He insisted I go to the ER. I left the office, called The Summit Medical Group, obtained an appointment with an ENT and was seen within the hour. They cleaned out my ear and sent me on my way. This time I called ahead to avoid any problems. I arrived at 11:00 am, signed in, and listed my concern as head injury. The receptionist immediately told me to go to the ER. I repeated the conversation I had with Marge and insisted on staying. There were two people ahead of me yet the wait was still 2 hours. Dr. Nishida entered the examining room at 1:00 without so much as hello. There was no apology for the 2 hour wait and she was hostile. She immediately insisted I go to the ER. I refused and held my ground insisting on leaving with a script for a CT scan as promised. She conducted what she called a Neurological exam, which she said I passed. She insisted that I sign a release before reluctantly writing the script. I made an apt. for a CT scan for later that day while still in the examining room. I was told that my insurance co. required pre-authorization from my Dr. by the imaging facility. At first Dr. Nishida told me only Marge could do the pre-authorization and then she changed her mind and refused to help me with the authorization and decided I needed to visit my primary care physician to obtain it. At this point I had been at DRs Expess for 2 1/2 hours and I was not feeling well. I pleaded with a woman at reception to relay the required information to the imaging facility so they could obtain the authorization and thankfully she obliged. Dr. Nishida told me if the test was positive I was to head to the ER and of course I agreed. I was informed that the CT scan was negative by the radiologist and Drs Express was also apprised. I called back later in the day to speak to Dr Nishida to see if she could prescribe something for my nausea to keep me comfortable. The receptionist at Drs Express again told me to go to the ER. I begged her to ask the Dr for a prescription to ease my nausea and she came back on the line and said the Dr said no. I saw a Neurologist the next day with Summit Medical Group. I was suffering from what he called the textbook symptoms of a concussion. I was dehydrated from throwing up all night, suffering from vertigo and had.a terrible headache. I had finally packed a bag and was resigned to be sent to the ER. The Dr was wonderful. He shook my hand, introduced himself and shut the light off for the exam because he was concerned that the light would bother my eyes. He prescribed meds for nausea, vertigo and pain and sent me home to rest. He did not think I should go to the ER and moreover he had COMPASSION. I am feeling better every day, but I want to warn others. Unless you seek medical care for a cold or minor injury, do not use this facility. They are not express and in no way replace urgent care. I have used this service on many occasions but will not ever again. It seems Summit Medical Group now in many locations has come up with the solution to counter most costly unnecessary trips to the ER. Using the ER should be for Emergencies and has become too expensive for most patients. Drs Express you should reevaluate your choice of Dr. Nishida who is clearly unhappy to be handing out band aids at your facility.

I went there with a severed pinky at the second joint going down. It was visibility pretty deep and the fact that I couldnt bend it in any fashion should have been a red flag to begin with. When I met with the doctor, who I maybe spoke to for a minute in total; explained to me it was minor and could be glued and wrapped up. It would take about 2-3 weeks to heal and could be cleaned and more derma bond could be applied. When I returned home for break, after 72 hours I deemed it appropriate to clean. As I took it off the skin tore off and reopened. At this point I went to the hospital to get admitted. After meeting with the PA and hand surgeon they had found that I completely severed my flexor tendon and partially damaged my digital nerve. Yesterday, after an overnight stay I went through 3.5 hours in the OR and will be going through 3-4 months of PT. These people do not care obviously, if youre a medical professional and someone comes to you like this: 1. Give me the time of day to actually examine me and not just pull my pinky back and forth. Which they said in the hospital moved the tendon farther down my hand. 2. If you dont know, at least have the decency to tell me to go to a specialist or the hospital, dont just do a quick fix and say itll be fine. The surgeon had said if I waited longer than I did my tendon may have died and the nerve ending would have probably never gained sensation back. Unprofessional is the only word, if I had the grounds to bring legal action I would.

Stand clear! I took an uber from Newark NJ to see the doctor at this fascility since I had severe food poisoning. Upon calling to make an appointment, I was told by a young lady that I have to be there by 4:30 when they closed. Mind you, google said 5pm. I had been throwing up since 10am until around 4:15 when I got there, couldnt even stay inside to complete the paperwork and had to kneel infront of the Urgent care since nothing was staying down. Both receptionists were very unprofessional and had no level of empathy. All they kept saying was sign this form and let me collect your co pay even seeing me bent over in pain and throwing up. I wasted a whole hour waiting before the receptionist took me into a room and ask me what was wrong. As soon as I opened my mouth without even seeing the doctor, she closed the door and told me to go to the emergency room. I know everyone wants to go home when its time to close but I am an extremely sick patient at that time and not even the doctor tried to see me. Picture this, no examination, no vidal checks and without seeing the doctor I was told they are closing soon and I should go to the emergency to pay another uber ride. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone if they value their lives. Stay clear!

Im so frustrated with this place, I could probably cry. Its disappointing when you come to a place where people arent trained to have all the facts necessary to perform their jobs. I left work Friday to get a TB shot for a potentially new position. I asked the nurse THREE times if I could come in today (Sunday) to get it read. She told me to come as close to closing (5 oclock) as I could. I called to see if I could come in around 4, and she told me NO. Today will not be a full 48 hours, because they close at 5. Either Monday before 6, or get it redone. Now, I had to pay $116 to get it done, and I will not pay $88 to get it redone. I work 9-5 and have an orientation that will not allow me to get there by 6 on Monday. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Especially since this isnt my first TB shot, no one has EVER put a time stamp on it. I would have NEVER come here for my shot if I knew they wouldnt read it today, knowing I cant be there on Monday. Only an idiot would do something like that. I shouldve read the reviews. Guys, just go to Clark, or your regular doctor. Convenient isnt always best.
