Ive been bringing Newman my cocker spaniel to Dr. Mintzer for 4 years, since he was a pup. Dr. Mintzer and the staff have always been kind, thorough and really seemed to care about Newmans health. Just recently Newman had a very bad day, spitting up and not wanting to eat. When I thought more about it, Newman had gotten into the garbage about 2 days earlier. The office was closed by the time I got home from work but the answering service put me right through to Dr. Mintzer and he met me at the office, ran some blood tests and took xrays. He said that he saw something suspicious in Newmans belly and the blood tests worried him. He felt it just didnt look safe to wait for the morning to do surgery. Dr. Mintzer called in staff members (I really appreciated that they came in during their time off to help) and performed surgery an hour later.Two days later a healthy happy Newman came home with the bottle cap that had been stuck in his belly. Id recommend Dr. Mintzer and the staff of Mid Hudson Animal Hospital without another thought. They saved my baby.

Im very picky about veterinarians and people who care for my dog, but I always felt assured at Mid-hudson. Although they are on the pricey side, they cared for my dog since she was a puppy and always treated her with care and compassion. All the vet techs are very friendly and informative. Its really great knowing most of the vet techs are in school/ training to be vets. They all go out of there way to make you and your pet feel comfortable!

Excellent care by Dr. Mintzer, even though this isnt the closet to our home, it is the one we can rely on at all times. The staff is very friendly and if you need a kitten, this is the place to go!
