I dont know what a lot of these other reviewers are talking about, but she was fantastic throughout my entire pregnancy and continues to be great during my postpartum. I see a lot of people commenting on her bedside manner and I think they are doing her a great disservice by giving her a bad rating. She is a very quiet woman and very matter of fact. That doesnt mean shes rude, she is just doing her job. If you are the quiet and timid type of person who sits there and expects her to read every question in your mind, then maybe she isnt the doctor for you. She cant possibly know what we are thinking, so ASK HER QUESTIONS! I asked her a million questions from "can I drink Odoules?" to "what are these red bumps on my arms?" and she always took the time to answer my questions thoroughly, even if they were silly. Shes probably one of the nicest doctors Ive ever had the pleasure of being treated by. Let me fill you in on why we wait in the waiting room so long sometimes. Her office is about 5 miles away from the hospital that she delivers babies in. In Norman traffic, that can take approximately 10-15 minutes to get from one place to the other. If she is called in for an emergency cesarian or to deliver one of her patients babies, she has to leave her office and go tend to her laboring patient. This throws her office patients behind. There is no way to avoid this nor is there a way to know WHEN its going to happen. Now, on the other end of the spectrum, when she is delivering your child and she has cut the cord, delivered the afterbirth and has finished suturing, she doesnt have time to sit around and have coffee and a bagel with you and discuss your delivery story, minute by minute. She has to get back to her patients that have been waiting for almost an hour in her waiting room. Every OBGYN has this problem, ESPECIALLY now that theyve moved the Womens Center further away from most of their offices. Its not like she ran out of my room after my daughter was born, she asked me if I had any questions, told me what she had done and how many sutures I had, and then very sweetly came to my side and told me how beautiful my daughter was. So, before someone writes another nasty review about how they "waited 7 years" to see her.....think about how youre going to feel when you are lying on that hospital bed in labor, wishing she would hurry up and get there from her office. It will make you think twice about ridiculing her on her time management and cursing her in the waiting room. Afterall, God decides when we are going to go into labor, not Dr. Bethel. I felt very comfortable in the hands of Dr. Bethel during my delivery. She made me relaxed and even made me laugh a couple of times after my daughter was born. I highly recommend this doctor to any woman who is pregnant, wanting to get pregnant, or someone who just needs an OBGYN for their annual exams. I will also add that I have had the pleasure of speaking with many of the surgeons and doctors from the surrounding area and I asked them their opinions of Dr. Bethel without giving away that I am one of her patients. Every single one of them had extremely positive feedback on her. They all commented about her being extremely knowledgeable in her field and very experienced. Afterall, she has delivered thousands upon thousands of children. I think that says something in itself. As far as her office staff goes? They are wonderful! I love love LOVE them. They took care of me as far as billing goes and they were always very informative and nice if I ever called with a question. I never felt rushed with them and they were never EVER rude. Her nurses are great and Donnell....what can I say....I just adore her. She is a very pleasant person to be around and she makes me laugh. Dr. Bethel will continue to treat me as long as shes practicing medicine.

The first time I met Dr. Bethel was under horrible circumstances...I had just miscarried and found out I had a fibroid tumor. I was lucky enough to get Dr. Bethel as my doctor. She was so nice and very informative about what I had and what to expect from my myomectomy that I had to have. Then when I got pregnant last year she was so excited for me. She just loves babies! At our first ultrasound she was thrilled. As far as the waiting times, yes sometimes it does take 15-30 minutes to get in to see her BUT she does all of her hospital rounds early in the morning (my c-section was scheduled for 7:00am) and if a baby is coming during her office work day she cant very well tell the mom to keep that baby in b/c she has to see everyone at her office first! Thats ridiculous! If you were the one in labor Im sure you would be happy to know she will leave her office so that she can deliver your baby! When we have had to stay longer, her office informed us so that we could either wait or reschedule. Heck Ive even accidentaly came in on the wrong day for my appointment and they squeezed me in and wasnt rude or mad about it! Her front desk staff has been very nice and I absolutely love Donnell and the other nurses! She is a quiet woman but she knows her stuff...dont be scared to ask questions. Shes has always been willing to sit down and answer my questions no matter how crazy they were or even had me come in if I was worried about something so she or her staff could check it out for me. I will definately be going to her again when I have my next child!!! :)

I used Dr. Bethel in 2011 when I was pregnant with my first child. I liked her and for me to be only 19 years old and not know a clue whats going on with me, she was very helpful. I was in labor for 3 days, on my last day, the nurses checked me and said "OH NO" and ran out the room. They came back with Dr. Bethel and she joked "YOURE LUCKY, I WAS FIXING TO GO HOME" lol. She delivered a healthy baby. My healthy baby! She was so good, I went back for my 2nd one and again smiling like she always is, she joked again "YOU LOVED IT SO MUCH, YOU CAME BACK FOR A SECOND TIME" lol I will definitely being going back to her with my next pregnancy. yes the wait is crazy and long sometimes, but she is a very very busy women. and every life is precious!

I Do NOT understand how anyone could like going through pregnancy with doctor bethels office! Doctor bethel herself is sweet and I feel she knows what she is doing but everytime I go in for my appointment I wait for a hour plus! There is probably one nurse that even knows what she is doing and talking about, I am constantly telling them how and what I am there for! (Not pregnancy hormones either and this is my first baby!) Wait you havent even hear the worse part! I go in to find out the sex of my baby and they scheduled me for a time the ultra sound tech ISNT EVEN THERE and I sat for a hour for them to say I didnt need to be there! Horrible!
