I first saw these doctors in 2010 to get my 1st ever pair of glasses. All was well. I returned in 2011 to get bifocals. They werent right so I refused to take them home. The eye exam was repeated and changed. All was good. I returned in 2012 for a new script and also bifocal contacts. As a 1st time contact lens wearer, I struggled quite a bit getting them in and two training sessions were required and I was struggling with the contact lens prescription. My new glasses arrived The prescription was not good. The eye exam was repeated and the contacts prescription was changed. I was unwilling to give up my glasses at first because I needed time to adjust to the new contacts. I never had the glasses redone. In 2013, I was contacted approximately one week before my appointment and told that they had to cancel my appointment because my insurance only covered alternate years. When I probed with the billing specialist for the reason I was able to go every year prior, it was because I had dry eye syndrome. So, I rescheduled the appointment and told the doctor that I was struggling to see. At that point I was told that I could not use my insurance because my dry eye was controlled and that I had to pay for the appointment. I was also quite hurried through. I stressed to the doctor that I could not see. The exam was frustrating and the doctor gave up and said that the prescription I had was the best I could get and that was the end of the appointment. I ordered another year of contacts (remember my glasses were wrong) and tried to accept that I had to wear reading glasses with my bifocal contacts. By 2014 when my appointment was due, I was seriously struggling to see. It was not good at all. I never got my appointment card so I called to inquire when my appointment was. I did not have one. At that point I asked friends to recommend an eye doctor. I went to a completely new doctor in Greensburg, who also struggled to get my vision correct with all possible lenses during the exam. I was not hurried or rushed and in fact she did not quit until she investigated further to discover that both of my corneas were very inflamed. As long as my corneas were inflamed, I would never have clear vision. After a month of eye drops, the corneas healed and I was given a successful vision test, new daily bifocal contacts that I love, and glasses that are right the first time. I havent been able to see this well in over 2 years. I feel bad giving such a negative review for anybody, but I had a real problem and these doctors did not want to be bothered to figure out why. I felt like I was treated like a nuisance - even at the time of that last exam with them I was made to feel as though I were just being a difficult patient, and as a result, I walked around seriously struggling to see for well over a year.

This is the first review I have ever written. My intent is not to write disparaging remarks regarding this practice but to inform other consumers of my personal experience. I went to Your Family Eyes doctor in Murrysville in November 2014. I first was examined by Dr. Chris. He stated that I had astigmatism in my right eye and prescribed 3 pairs of trial lenses. They all were extremely uncomfortable. After several exams and unsuccessful trial lenses I requested to see another Doctor (for a second opinion. I then met with Dr. Chris. He reexamined my eyes, stated, I have dry eyes and said he did not see astigmatism in my right eye. He then recommended a daily lenses because it would provide better moisture (for my alleged dry eye). For the last 18 years I have worn a two week lens with no issues but per the examination and recommendation, I ordered a daily contact lens of Dailies Total One ($380 for a 6 month supply) After an eye glass exam with Melissa, I also ordered a pair of Burberry frames costing over $300. I had them fitted several times due to discomfort on the nose & length of temples. I am still unable to wear them and of course cannot return or exchange due to their policy. I hope in the future Your Family Eye Doctors of Murrysville, is able to improve from this feedback and be an asset to our community.

I took a my prescription to this place to get a pair of glasses. I kept trying to wear the glasses, but they gave me the worst headaches Ive ever had. I called them and was told that my warranty was past. I figured there wasnt anything I could do about it. Well - last week j went to get my eyes checked at an eye doctor, and showed the doctor these particular glasses and told him I couldnt wear them, and they give me awful awful headaches so he checked the prescription and told me there was no wonder I got headaches. The glasses are 2x the prescription that they were soppose to be. Your family eye care in Murrysville Pa - completely ripped me off. There crooks. I want my money back. Is there anything I can I do ??? Erin

Poor customer service. I waited about an hour to see the doc on my first visit. On my second visit, I was called and informed my appointment was moved up 15 minutes. After arriving 15 minutes early and waiting over an hour again I will not be returning. No one said anything... complete lack of respect for my time.
